Re: Which coin is most likely to be implemented on a large scale?

On a large scale it has to be something that the general public use and so I would think it would be something in use as payments. The most obvious one is bitcoin, other projects like Utrust could go very mainstream if they are a success. Anything related to banking has a good chance of being used but I wouldn't say it's on a 'large scale' because it's exclusive to banks.

Re: Limit Orders for buy and sell on Binance
by

Hi there

I hope you can help me with this issue. To explain my problem, here's an example:

Market price for x is at 0.002

I want to buy 10 x when the price is 0.0015 and sell them at a price of 0.003.

How can I manage that in Binance?

Very happy for an answer already, yours
ethori

You can't create a condition to list the coins straight away once you buy them,, you will have to do this manually. You do not need any conditions on your orders, just a simple buy order at 0.0015 and a sell at 0.003. If you want it done automatically you'll need some sort of a bot.

From a logical point of view I think it's this. Bitcoin over the last few months, let's say since beginning of November has increased less than 2x in price whereas ethereum is about 3x its price. I feel that the larger growth Ethereum had means that it's more in a period of consolidation whereas bitcoin is still clambering to get back to the price where it was previously. Also bitcoin tends to perform better in slow periods than ethereum, ethereum's growth is very burst like.

Re: Will the Bull Market Return in 2018? What's Your Prediction?

My personal opinion is not to look at things from a day by day or week by week basis and instead consider cryptocurrencies on a grand scale. If we look over the years then the market is still bullish and for that reason I'll continue to invest.

The support level seems to be pretty clear but as Frue said the target seems too high for me. It's more of a long term buy and hold strategy. I would like to sell near the resistance of $230 and then re-enter on any dips.

Re: How important are ICO advisors?
by
brushtooth
on 28/02/2018, 15:35:11 UTC
I think ICO consultants are more like brand ambassadors, because ICO is not in the hands of consultants, or they can't predict the right things. Most of the time, consultants are more focused on marketing purposes.
They are the key of the project, they matters especially on making decisions, they are the one's that can tell whether such action will have an impact, it's their experience that the companies paying for. And we should also know the Advisors background when looking at an ICO.

When a well known bounty manager is saying it then maybe I should pay more attention. I always felt that it was more of a marketing trick than anything else and that they really had little actual involvement in the ICO.

What's surprising is still how many ICOs make huge errors in judgment and are really poorly run despite having the expertise of advisors to call upon. Simple things like changing the terms of the ICO in terms of whitelisting or KYC at the last minute are really poor but so frequent.

Re: Is This a Good Time to Buy Bitcoin?
by

Dear Community,

I have read everywhere in the press that Bitcoin will even reach $50k this year, if it is true, is this a good time to buy bitcoin?

To make it easier, I even created a new poll here.

Thank you very much for your involvement!

If the price reaches 50k later in the year then of course it would be a good investment. No one can predict with certainty if this will happen so we just have to consider what we know and form our opinions based on that.

Bitcoin enjoyed a great year in 2017 with a lot of new investment and exposure, it's had a tough start to 2018 but seems to have found support and is now back above 10k. If the price can go on a bit of a bull run we may see a lot of past investors come back to the market as they are less in fear that the end is near.

If I had spare funds to invest I would be buying BTC right now.

Everybody believes in the blue skies and why shouldn't we!  Cheesy

Yes, any predictions that we do are vein currently because massive corrections are following the path. This will however not keep going for few months but can be expected for next whole month as the financial year ends itself. The big investors will be done with their taxation and stuff and thus we can expect them getting back into the crypto investment. That is hell lot of work to follow and hence I believe altogether with the correction the financial year end is making its move currently. So hopefully this will skyrocket in April month that what my prediction says but as I said everything could be vein in front of the crypto's. Lets be hopeful though.

This is a good point, many will also be removing funds from cryptocurrencies to try and get the best tax deals for the year. For example if there's an amount up to which they pay 0 tax many will withdraw up to this amount instead of paying more tax on it in the future when they withdraw it. I don't think it will make a massive difference to prices but it's one more thing to put some upward pressure on the price.

What is your take on BTC atm from a technical perspective? The current bottom was at 5.9k and around 5 days ago an upper resistance level of 11.7 made the price pull a little back again. Are we just playing a bit around testing resistance levels, and suddenly we blow all the upper levels and see prices skyrocket again?
Or is this a part of a longer correction where we are to see the price move sideways or in a downtrend for a couple of months while people get their optimism back again.

I know there is not one right answer to this and everything can happen.. But what is your take on the BTC market atm from a graph-perspective (fundamental is welcome as well!)?

Personally, I am very much in doubt. I do not like the current volume levels, on the other side I do not think the upper resistance levels will hold for very long, and when we are on the right side of 11.7 for good, I believe in blue skies - until next correction ;-)

My opinion is in line with your first suggestion. I think we are discovering new support levels and we seem to have found one around 9k. I think we will breakthrough the resistance at 11.5-12k in the next week to 10 days and then the price will move upwards to 13-14k. I think the next dip won't test 10k if this happens.

Re: saving $ 1000 / month should I invest in bitcoin?
by
brushtooth
on 26/02/2018, 16:49:39 UTC
No one can tell you what is right for you because it depends on your goals in terms of an investment. Cryptocurrencies are a great opportunity to grow your investment in ways that you won't be able to with more traditional and stable investments like stocks or gold. A smart strategy would be to invest in more than one area and right now cryptocurrencies are still a good place to look to invest.

I would invest a large amount of your investment in to BTC and then consider altcoins such as Ethereum and then others that you have an interest in.

As always, never invest more than you're willing to lose and understand the risks involved.

Now is the time for cryptocurrencies to actually show they have a real world value and can offer a service that generates a profit. While many will still be used for payments etc and don't generate a profit, many are looking to compete with more traditional businesses and earn profits.

...

Generally speaking, if enough “experts” and MainStream Media/.govs/investment banks launch these sorts of campaigns, that is a sign to take the other side of the bet...  In this case, BTC is likely a buy.

Goldman-Sachs typically makes bad calls to screw their muppet customers in a similar way.  Other prominent investment pros are similar (they make bad calls).  The lesson here?  Think for yourself!

You have to think that the main reason for many of them to attack bitcoin is because they're afraid of it and they don't want it to succeed. If large banks and governments are afraid of bitcoin then that only shows the potential behind it.

Re: Blockchain is helping hackers/cyber criminals ??

Blockchain isn't helping criminals, it's more of criminals abusing and taking advantage of blockchain's anonymity. Hackers and thieves existed since forever.

If it's allowing them the means to take advantage of something then it's helping them. I do understand what you mean however, it's not as if the blockchain has suddenly encouraged many people to start hacking and stealing funds from others.

Re: Vitalik Buterin Statment Regarding Cryptocurrencies
by

Vitalik is not saying anything that we have not heard hundreds of times before and that any smart investor should know. Cryptocurrencies are a new and vulnerable technology and are very much speculative. Even in the best case scenario, many many crypto's will fail and fall to near zero. Worst case scenario they almost all will.

He is simply managing expectations and ensuring people do not enter the market with the wrong idea, we do not want these type of investors who think that failure or loss isn't a possibility.

My personal choice is Adbank, they're in the early stages but had a lot of support in their ICO. I believe their BETA is due for launch in March and that will be a significant step. With the 3 it seems to be a case of who gets there first.

As to what we can observe right now, yes! We're back and red days are over. I've been monitoring the market recently and its hardly decreasing the prices. It is more or increasing these past few days. Bitcoin went down to 6K and recovered to 10K real quick and just keep on rising.

BTC is one of few that's really showing signs of a recovery. Many smaller alts are still struggling and haven't really moved much from their all time lows. At least now they seem to be stable and once bitcoin has recovered to around 13k I expect confidence to return to alt markets also and we'll see them recovering quite rapidly.
Just wait I’m not losing hope that all of them will recover since BTC start to recover there will be an aggressiveness in the market specially that there is a forecast that after the Chines new year there is a sudden rise of BTC  price I think humors like this will ignite more agressiveness. So be patient  and think it positively yeah the red days is over hopefully you were able to buy more BTC and hold.

I'm very positive. The market can't all recover at once, first the attention will be for bitcoin and then it will move to the alts after that. Chinese New Year probably won't make a big difference but it will be enough.

Re: KYC of bounty hunters
by
brushtooth
on 14/02/2018, 17:49:29 UTC
I think that all the bounties of the company will be required to pass KYC. Therefore, you should get used to the new realities. Especially in my opinion the company's demand to pass KYC says that this company will not be a scoundrel.
I think you're wrong. That a project requests the KYC from investors doesn't guarantee anything at all. A scam project can request the KYC to give an appearance of seriousness and rigor, and to give investors confidence. But it will remain a scam. And not only they will steal the money of the investors, but also with their personal data.

This is something that I'm coming across a fair bit of lately, ICOs that promise there will be rigorous KYC in place as well as complying with many international laws only for it to be lies just to encourage investor confidence. KYC is a good thing but it's not a means to decipher between a scam project and a legitimate project.

Re: When is the best time of investing into ICO?
by
brushtooth
on 13/02/2018, 18:57:26 UTC
Pre-sale is great if you really believe in the project and can get you big discounts. Generally the earlier you invest you can a better deal.

Investing right near the end of the ICO or after a few days can allow you to gauge how successful it will be and make better informed decisions.

Investing post ICO can reduce the risk of getting scammed and sometimes allow you to pick up cheaper coins, conversely you can miss the opportunity to profit as most of the best ICOs will trade at a premium when launching on an exchange compared to the ICO price.

Re: Will Cyberinsurance rescue and uplift crypto market?
by
brushtooth
on 12/02/2018, 06:15:05 UTC
I'm very interested by this subject but I thought I'd never get through to the end, not the easiest of reads.  I've worked in the insurance industry for a long time and I can promise you one thing,  if they see a new opportunity to make money they are going to go after it.  However you mention that AIG has already started insuring cryptocurrency but that's not true  ( http://bitcoinist.com/aig-blockchain-insurance-policy/ ).

Blockchain and cryptocurrency are two entirely different things.  One is an actual means of payment and the other is the platform for which makes it work.  We certainly might get to the point of insurance companies insuring actual "dollars" tied directly to crytpocurrency but that day has not come yet.

I feel there's an inevitability about the fact this will happen. People are able to insure their dollars or other currencies and so it's logical it will arise for cryptocurrencies too. I do not know exactly what shape that will take and the restrictions around it but as long as there is a demand for it then insurance providers will create the policies.
