Re: Are there people here from 2013 who are not millionaires now?

Been involved in bitcoin since 2011. Cashed in too soon. When it hit $20 I thought it was too good to be true and sold all of the several hundred I had mined to that point.

After that I didn't pay attention to bitcoin or altcoins for several years. Finally last year started getting interested again and bought some Dash at around $3/coin. Made the same mistake as before - sold when it hit $16.

Investing in several more coins this time and won't make the same mistake again - holding until I get at least enough to pay off my house and all other debts.

Re: [Universal-Wallet] Coinomi (BIP44 compatible)

Maybe you need to wait for it to get rejected from itself.
Actually it depends on which api they are using to monitor the network.
Unless that network gets propagated fully, you'll have to wait.

It's been over a week and it's been rejected twice as far as I can tell. The message I see when I follow it to blockchain is
"Transaction rejected by our node.
Reason: Transaction was previously accepted but has been pruned from our database"

However, in coinomi it is still greyed out waiting for confirmation. I'd like to find some way to cancel it and send it again with the correct transaction fee.
It seems like it has been cancelled on blockchain.info but it isn't cancelled in coinomi.

Any solution for this? I am having the same issue.

According to the change log for coinomi:
New in version 1.5.16

Changed the way balance is calculated and added the possibility to spend unconfirmed transactions

But I can't seem to find any way to do this from the android client.

Hey there!

Withdrawals are usually instant; it may be that yours was caught for a manual review. Would you mind submitting a support ticket on the website? A member of our support team would be happy to take a look for you.

Thanks so much!
Jenny

How do I do that? I can't find anywhere on the site for submitting a support ticket.

edit: disregard - I found it.

edit2: I received my bitcoins about 60 seconds after submitting my support ticket. Thanks for the amazingly fast response!

How long do withdrawals usually take? I requested one at 8:09pm yesterday (GMT-5 time zone) and it still states "pending" 12 hours later.

Why are the minted seats so expensive? For 0.5 BTC I could buy 10 seats and still have enough left over for 5-6oz silver. That is a steep price to pay for 1 seat + 1oz.

What IP address should it be resolving to?

There is most definitely a problem with the DNS hosting currently.

Based on a whois lookup, nastyfans.org authoritative DNS servers are NS1/2/3/4.DOMAINS4BITCOINS.COM.

NS[1-4].DOMAINS4BITCOINS.COM are themselves not currently resolvable.

It appears that the DNS provider does not even have their own DNS currently working. If it is working for some people, I suspect that there is some caching going on somewhere. 99% of the world probably cannot resolve this domain right now and won't be able to until those nameservers come back online.

Will you be adding any bets for overall winner of the Masters golf tournament this weekend? All the existing bets are head to head matchups - would be great if we could place some bets on the tournament winner.

Nothing is sure but if you want to act in your life, you need to take decision based on what you have.
Until now, Cognitive is not a scam while most of mining company are.

I choose to trust Cognitive long ago and until now, I didn't lose anything which is great and I will probably make a good profit in the coming months.
From experience, I think that mining Bitcoins is too risky compared to the reward. Cognitive will be my last investment in mining.

You did lose something. 2 months of dividends.

That is a big problem. It seems that all mining company are scams. It is a miracle that Cognitive is not.
Cognitive may be soon the only alive mining company that isn't a scam. The price per share will definitely skyrocket.

How are you so sure that Cognitive isn't a scam?

2.) The "missing div" period was a result of very bad luck. Right now we don't have any way to prove this, but its what happened.

I understand that you may not have any proof but can you provide some more detail around this? What exactly happened? We never got a clear answer. Was a pool being used? if so, which one? What was the time frame?

I don't think you were addressing me, possibly just generalizing, But nothing about this is surprising to me. I feel like I've been playing wack-a-mole with many people's outrageously positive hopes and dreams. I figured it would start to click for others when near none of any pointed questions ever get answered.

Who killed critical thinking?

Correct, I was generalizing, that was not directed at you.

I'm shocked that the general consensus in this forum still seems to be positive on Garrett despite the fact that it seems fairly obvious he is ripping us off at this point. And has been obvious for awhile.

This is exactly why I was questioning everyone just blindly trusting Garrett after he already had clearly either stolen or badly mismanaged/misplaced 2 months worth of dividends. There was no impression that he had a clue what he was doing or how to run a company. Not sure why people are surprised that this is continuing to be a problem.

This is only two data points, but you guys can do the remaining math yourself.  +/- 50% is not unusual when using smaller pools.  If things are orders of magnitude off (like the missing divs), that is when we have a problem.

Using my previously invented "instantaneous annualized return", at a share price of 0.04 we are currently making 4.745%.  Obviously, this will jump massively when the cointerra hardware arrives.

EDIT:  also, we see a "low week" followed by a "high week" followed by a "low week" - the obvious explanation is payouts happen every few days, and the high week had more paid out, possibly including some divs from the prior week, and the low week had btc still in the pool waiting to be paid out.  this is why more data is needed and there is insufficient evidence for lower-than-expected results at this time.  Also, I am assuming 2% pool fee above, it could also be 3 or 5%.

It's nice that you're still willing to give Garrett the benefit of the doubt, but this is not the first time dividends have been withheld or missing.

Quit feeding the troll, people.  A religious zealot is someone who believes for poor reasons.  A religious zealot will use whatever facts he can to support his presuppositions, and when the facts fail, resort to ad hominem attacks.

Sometimes zealots are right, and sometimes they are wrong.  Even a broken clock is right twice a day.  This troll was right that not everything was perfect with Garr, and mistakes were made, but he's been proven wrong that the intent was malicious.  There is no reason to believe it was in garr's best interest to pay 32BTC just to "further the scam".  FIMB was not a scam, it was just a failure.  COG is not a scam, and when the hardware arrives, it has the potential to be very successful.  But despite this new evidence, some people aren't looking at the evidence, and some people will never be convinced.  Those people should be ignored.

Nobody should forget what happened in the past, but they should consider all the evidence.  Garr is obviously making an effort here and we should continue to encourage him to improve, hire the help he needs, etc.

(Disclosure:  I own about 1.7% of COG by shares)

We still have no evidence that COG dividends won't continue to disappear. That issue has never been addressed and all our requests for more information have been ignored. It's great that he partially repaid FIMB but there are still many questions here.

This is not over for cognitive. Garrett can be replaced.

He could if this were a legitimate company, which it very clearly is not.
