As you first tried it on a PC it didn't work on, I suppose it's your main computer so, if you wish, I could try helping you out and solve the problem on it.
Thanks. You are correct - the first PC is my main computer, and now Ledger Live works fine on that PC - without having to run as admin :-)

Great! One more thing before you update. Make sure to uninstall all the apps before updating to the latest version. It is a one time thing and you won't have to do it for the future updates.
I did - and again - THANK YOU - I was sleeping poorly due to possibility of loosing a lot of savings

There could be several things causing such a behaviour. Try using a different USB cable or a different PC if it still doesn't work. Also, what version of Ledger Live do you have? You can check it the Settings -> About.
New USB-cable got me a bit futher. Now when I check if the Ledger is Genuine - I power it up, enter PIN. The PC (win10) now gives i pip (like when installing a new usb device). Now the error message in Ledger Live is - "Oops, couldn't connect to device" I have saved the json error file if needed.

BTW - I can not check the version of Ledger Live, but I downloaded the latest version from ledger.com (2.3.2) - there is no "settings" menu in the program. When Ledger Live starts - the heading is "get started with your Ledger device", and I can chose from "Set up a new device", "Restore", "skip device setup" or "don't have a Ledger device". Could the Ledger Live software be fishy?. I downloaded it from ledger.com, and checked the ssl cert on the site.

There is no need for you to buy a new device. What kind of error do you get when you try to connect your device? Does anything happen at all?

When I try to run the "Genuine check" - I unlock the Ledger, but nothing happens. The Ledger Live asks if I have a hard time connecting, and there is a button for "Repair". When I try to follow the "Repair your Ledger device" procedure. It all stops when I try to load the bootloader. The Ledger displays "Bootloader" in the display, but then nothing more happens.

Help upgrading Nano Ledger S

⭐ Merited by Coolcryptovator (1)
So I bought some crypto some years ago, and have used a Nano Ledger S to "protect" them. Now I see the Ledger needs upgrading (current MCU 1.1 and firmware 1.3.1). I have my recovery phrase written down. Are there any things I need to avoid doing when upgrading the Ledger?
I find the instructions on ledger.com confusing. I have tried to use the Ledger Live software without success.
Should I buy a new Nano Ledger, or try to upgrade the old?

Re: ICO use of Telegram - only for fanboys?

So, I have been critical on some Telegram channels for ICOs. Things like asking critical questions when the ICO suddenly change the rules of the game mid-ICO. What happens to me? Well, I get banned from the channel. What do you think is ok to ask/chat about in Tekegram? I really appreciate this open forum, where I do not need to kiss **s to not get shut out of a discussion... Generally I think if a project can not answer tough questions, people should know that.
Dude, you understand that in this world even father doesn't kiss mother without a reason, don't you? The only way out for you is your personal site, which will depend on your knowledge and skills but not anyone else.
You think that is the case in this forum too? I do believe in this tech, but sounds like you are telling me that it is all a scam. I don’t believe that.

Looks like there is a lot of scammers and scam web sites. As always - get your websites/addresses correct. Use only ‘official’ information channels for correct info...

Re: Bitcoin is Falling...Is it Panic Time?

As a pretty new crypto investor, I try to be a long time investor. I put in about 8 months pay in September/October and have had a 5x turn into a 2x. Today’s 2x is still an amazing roi. But days like we have had last week/month or so is somewhat stressing. But, I did go into the market with money I thought I was ready to ‘risk away’. But to this day, I am not considering selling out. I just kick myself for not investing many years ago...

No matter what wallet you use - go for one that supports a hardwallet like ledger nano s/blue og trezor. And keep a good backup of your Mnemonic Phrase.

That said - I love myetherwallet (except for max gas price is 99 gwei - not high enough for gas wars) and the ledger nano chrome extentions for BTC, LTC and so on.

I see wepower recommend to set gas limit to 300.000.  Shocked At 21 gwei, thats 0,0063 ETH for a 0,2 ETH contribution.

Same here critical users were kicked out from the telegraph channel, once they were promoting this project.
Doing business with businesses/admins/ceos who deal with criticism like children is never a good idea. This back and forth does not build trust.

So dualmining does not seem worth longer, since ASICs are mining... I used to mine 25sc pr day - now 1.2 pr day...

I don’t like the Stalinistic approach of kicking critical users from the telegraph channel... many users have voiced dissatisfaction with a silly 0.2eth cap in ico just to get banned.

During 1st ICO eth, btc and something called $ was accepted. It seems like the 2nd ico will be based on market value, so might be a good idea to get in now - unless they pump up before 2nd ico
