I would be keen to organise another meetup in the future. Unfortunately the first one was a bit of a flop. Only two of us attended. I still have the Sydney facebook group going and I am also looking for contributes to help keep it running. So if you are interested let me know.

Well it seems to be attracting some interest. As I said I have set up a FB page, but for those that do not want to join the group on FB I will post updates here as well. I am thinking of setting up a meetup in about a month or so. I personal know of a few people that would be interested in coming, but if we can get the number up before the actual day that would be awesome.

Open to suggestions, dates and all round ideas if anyone has any.

Cheers Smiley

Re: Bitcoin Magazine - Matthew N. Wright - 100% ROI

The sad, but funny side of this, is that only person that hopefully learnt a lesson form this is Matthew. He will for ever be know as a scammer in the bitcoin community and from her on out any potential employer, investor, partner or friend who googles his name will know that he is a person who is not to be trusted.

Well done Matthew. Thanks for the life lesson and congratulations on tarnishing the reputation of not only yourself but Bitcoin Magazine along the way.

Bitcoin Magazine - Matthew N. Wright - 100% ROI
by

On Tuesday I was going to subscribe to Bitcoin Magazine, but as I knew that Matthew N. Wright had his bet still going and that he was a Director of Bitcoin Magazine I though maybe I should hold off until the bet was over (I am very glad I did).

I understand that Bitcoin Magazine did not make this bet and that it was Matthew alone, however I also believe they must have known his intentions and therefore I have lost my trust in Bitcoin Magazine as well.

If I am mistaken in anyway please enlighten me, but for the time being Bitcoin Magazine, you have lost at least one customer for life and I am sure that there are many more that feel the same way as me.

As I said to everyone in another post no one should pay Matthew a cent even if he does win the bet unless he can prove that he could cover the bet in the first place and if he cant prove he can cover the bet, he should be labelled scammer. The thing to remember is that Matthew is the editor an chief of Bitcoin Magazine. He and Bitcoin Magazine have a lot to loose if here if things turn out bad. A) he does not pay if he looses OR B) he does win and it turns out that he never had the money cover the wager in the first place.

Matthew I wish you luck here, there is a lot at stake and things are not looking in your favour at the moment.

Also, the original bet mentioned nothing about additional clauses as mentioned above. It was that pirate paid out everyone in full including interest as described in his original thread within 3 weeks. That is the bet I and everyone will be holding you to. None of this pay out 90% and investors accept crap. 100% plus interest or Matthew looses.

Thanks Matthew. I am more than happy to pay you if I loose.  which I cant buy the way, as I just made a side bet with a friend and he is so sure that pirate will not pay that he has given me 3/1 on a $75 bet so I now will win even more if he does end up paying

Matthew if you do win the bet and cant prove that you have the money I would urge no one to pay you and that you be labeled a scammer. You not having the money for the bet in the first place would make the bet invalid. I trust that you most likely do have the money that is why I took the bet, but I suggest you do prove it if you win or there will be a lot of angry people that will not pay you. I can prove I can cover my bet, I suggest you do the same or I will label you a scammer and so should everyone that has taken your bet.

PS - you asking for bets on weather you actually have the money is just stupid. If it turned out that you did not have the money it is a loose, loose. Only a fricking idiot would take that bet because if they won you would not pay anyway.

Re: Looking for investor of 8.5 BTC

sron jokes aside. If you are going to ask people to invest you need to be fully transparent on exactly what it is you are offering and how it works (in full detail). You need a business plan, projected earnings, a registered company and proper legally binding contract for investors and yourself to sign. You reek of scam or al least inexperience and no body in their right mind is going to give you a cent until all or at least most of those factors are in place. I am guessing you are quite young or at least very inexperienced in these thing and your ambition is admirable, but until you have fully thought through all these factors I would hold off on looking for investors. Good luck mate. Scam or no scam 10 points for persistence

This has been a hilarious read, but I do want that 20 minutes of my life back now pleas.

I will pay 8.5 BTC to anyone who can give me that 20 minutes of life back and 0.1% of my sole in return.

I will invest 8.5 BTC in trying to give you your life back if you invest 8.5 BTC in my business project.

So the net result of this transaction is Zero bitcoins? Do I still get 0.1% of your business for 0.1% of my soul? if so I will trade 10% of my soul for the full 10% of your "business" that you are offering please.

Re: I made 100BTC with Satoshi's dice. Is this normal?

The simple fact is that if the house has an edge no betting strategy will ever change that unless your bank is bigger than their bank (Good luck with that). The only way to ever win in the long run is to have the edge in your favour. The only Casino game that I know of that this is possible to achieve (without cheating of course) is Black Jack (counting cards), but now days with continuous shuffle this is no longer possible. If you want to gamble and make money find a skill based game where you control the edge and EV (Poker, Gin, Sports etc..) Hard work  and good maths is unfortunately the only way to ever profit in the long run

Re: Is the ASIC just a clever scheme?
by

on 02/08/2012, 05:27:33 UTC
BFL are one of the worst company's I have ever dealt with. I ordered a single over a month and a half ago now. I have sent them 5 emails asking on the progress of my order and nothing. If they dont respond to my last email in the next few days I will be cancelling my order through PayPal.

If they run the rest of the company like they run customers service they have no hope of ever building an ASIC that will ever work
