apologies but launch will be delayed 2hours to allow any funding contributors to our campaign who did not notice our investment announcement previously.
we did not post [IPO] in the title because our project lead has made himself publically known, and would like avoid the wrath of over zealous securities regulations.
Because we want this coin to be useful also for retail merchants- we want to build a coin that people actually use from time to time in the day to day purchases (not just online ones). Sure, it's not credit card speeds, but it should work in many applications.
Can you provide some actual evidence to fork susceptibility with a coin with a POS component with a 15 second block time, rather than just accusations?
If you can not provide any evidence, I would request that you kindly remove your post.

[ANN] [CDA] CanadaCoin- POW/POS countrycoin with CanadaDay AirDrop

The first Proof of Stake countrycoin for Canada includes an Aurora style Airdrop of 147 coins (for up to 5 million Canadians aged 13+) on July 1, Canada Day. That is one coin for each year that Canada has been a country.
The coins pays 15% in year one, with interest (minimum stake time) paid approximately every 6 hours! This can become for the average Canadian a high interest account with capital appreciation potential, as well as a useful, secure peer to peer currency.
We are committed to build Canada's leading alt-coin, and help bring the new digital economy to the Canadian masses. Unlike some other countrycoins, without a plan, our four stage airdrop is designed to build initial merchant buy-in and social support prior to the Canada Day AirDrop.
We have set aside bounty to grow our service offerings and apps that will make CanadaCoin easy to use in daily life. We are also endeavoring to recruit a dedicated and trustworthy Board of Governors who share our passion, to turn CanadaCoin into a legitimate community driven organization, and maintain compliance with newly emerging Canadian regulations.
Though I am quite new to this forum, I have been active in the complementary currency field for the past 5 years in Canada. You can read more about me on the website FAQ. My other forum handle and twitter handle is humaniterrian. We are looking for additional developers and bounty hunters, as well as those (especially Canadians) willing to join our Board of Governors so that we can transition to a "community foundation" as soon as possible, with multiple parties holding keys to the funds.
I can understand that there is a usual (and healthy) skepticism when new alt-coins are released, and especially those with a premine, or that don't introduce new technology. Our intention is not to reinvent the wheel, but rather build on the shoulders of past experiments in this space to deploy a well used and genuinely useful currency, which is supported by a broad base of Canadians and merchants alike. Endless tech innovation may appeal to some, but the average person has still not heard about or used Bitcoin. Zero premine coins may appeal miners with big rigs, but leave the project devoid of resources (and begging) to properly promote and implement. If crypto-currency is going to be successful then it has to move into the mainstream to grow the adoption and marketshare for everyone. We believe that Canada is a good country for adoption, with a tech savvy population, and (so far) relatively friendly regulatory stance.
