thank you crashoveride54902! Just by changing the ASIC 1 and 2 die's to 775Mhz in the Advanced tab I got 7% more
Saturn @ 300Ghs/s.. : )
Bob, did you end up SSH'ing into your box or did you just change the MHz to 775 - Also, did you change the die1-4 voltage at all? If so from what to what?
Thanks!!!!!! T-

Wish Stick and Slush put a link to this thread on their FB & Twitter site - I've been looking there for weeks for updates... Oh well, it's great that they are moving along and we'll have our Trezors soon! WHOOT!!!
ok so let me get this str8 /// if i just keep the wallet open on my computer, will it function as a node or please step by step if this is not the caseee
If you keep your wallet on your computer open you are 'Leeching' not "Seeding". Meaning that your Port 8333 is most likely not open for other nodes to see and seed from... Might not be a good idea to open up your client you have coins in:
You can follow a well done script to get a Seeding node up and running on a VPS if you have one or care to get one - they are reasonable priced.
it runs in root, uses the Ubuntu PPA, opens up 8333, sets a firewall, and sets ssh port to default 22.
to upgrade bitcoind from time to time, run sudo apt-get update then sudo apt-get upgrade. make sure the new version is posted to the PPA first though by Matt Corrallo.
Then follow what Gweedo states for "NOHUP" to have your bitcoind autostart on reboots and when you close out of SSH.
You can then exit the session and leave it running.
Code:
nohup
is probably the better command.
As a relative N00B does "bitcoind daemon" achive similar to nohup? I just setup bitcoind and am noticing that once I loose my SSH the bitcoind stops.
So I just started with cranking up bitcoind daemon but am not 100% sure if it keeps chugging after I close SSH.
If nohup is the way to go is the command nohup bitcoind or bitcoind nohup or drill into some directory - fyi I have bitcoind running at root since I dont use this VPS or this bitcoind for anything other than helping out seeding....
Yes you have to include the full path to where your bitcoind bin is located, unless you are already in that directory.
O.K., Cool - in root I run bitcoind -nohup and get "Bitcoin server starting.
Things run well for about 10-15 mins, (can get info from bitcoind getinfo, etc) then after about 15mins or so I get "error: couldn't connect to server"
I've also tried just running bitcoind and screen bitcoind and bitcoind -nohup - They all crank up bitcoind for about 15mins then the bitcoind server seems to die...
Any ideas thoughts on how to trouble shoot? (FYI - VPS, with bitcoind in root)
You can then exit the session and leave it running.

nohup

Re: One GPU always goes SICK no matter how many cards in rig [SOLVED]
As it turns out, there wasn't anything wrong with any of my cards. As I added cards to the MB, booted up and tested I never swapped out the video cable so that it always is attached to the card that would be "GPU 0"
If the monitor is not attached to the first card on the board it always goes sick...but if the monitor is attached to the first card everything works perfectly. I now have 4 cards on the MB mining at 610+ kh/s with no issues.
If this is something that is obvious to others then I apologize for my ignorance...While I've built many systems before (and some with dual GPUs) I've always attached monitors to both cards and I've never really used them for this type of activity (mining) so I didn't realize that there was any importance to where the monitor should be attached.
Thanks for the responses.
Also, grue, I would agree with you as so many often point out that Intensity 20 is pretty darn high, but in this case I didn't think it was a root cause because I've been mining on all these cards (on two separate MBs) using Intensity 20 for weeks...so that couldn't be it.
As for the clock speeds being so low, yes they were...but my attempts to change the settings were being ignored by the card....
Anyway, so at least in this case the solution was just to attach the monitor to the first card (GPU 0)
PERFECT - I had the same exact issue as you and plugging in my monitor the the CPU0 & it FIXED My Sick - DEAD GPU. Ughhhh took me too long to find this post to figure it out... I must have re-configed every possible setting before I found this post.
I'm Hosting, 1 Jupiter (upgraded from saturn), ordered and paid July 16th. Still in PAID status, still waiting on hosting... I wonder if they're just mining with our Hosting units.
I don't think so. I am in the same boat with hosted Saturn 39xx (ordered and paid 18th of July).
Yeah, but I don't get it, Day 1 and Day 2 have been hosting since Oct. 10th or so. Every other hosting is delayed, while all other orders are being shipped. Have they run out of DC space or something? Something doesn't add up. And they haven't addressed the issues, keeping us in the dark. They had to please the Day 1/Day 2 customers, and started shipping the rest, but wtf about the rest of the hosting customers. I'd still rather do hosting because I'm illiterate when it comes to hardware, power supplies, so I'll just suck it up.
TRUE, WTF - I am also in the same boat and KnC has SH***Y responses. "DC will be online soon, please be patient" Again, WTF.
I can understand there will always be some issues to hash out & work around but KnC sucks at providing info...
Any other Hosting folks get any better updates on what the heck is going on
I'm order 43xx paid in July 26th with hosting and still stuck in "Paid"

Just ran across this article a few minutes after it hit the wire...
Some really interesting, albeit high gloss, insight into some of the universal adoption of Bitcoin....
I sincerely apologize to everyone on this thread that I won't be doing the next batch of send transactions today. I've just had too many urgent PR-related and investor-related tasks, and I have simply run out of time. Instead, I'll just do the next and LAST giveaway transactions once the giveaway thread is expired (it expires tomorrow) and you have all told me your promotional efforts. That will be next week some time. I promise that everyone promoting will get paid.
Once the giveaway is done, I'll still have a ton of MasterCoins left over which are earmarked to give away. I'll give those to the top promoters, which you should definitely try to be

Have been reading the other thread and have listened to your interview with 'Let's Talk Bitcoin'. Very interesting and following closely...
WELCOME, looks like we are cut from a similar mining cloth... - And I'm also waiting on my BFL miner too, ughhhhhh.....
haha yea its a trip aint it? I don't want to be too specific but my order is getting closer and closer to shipping.. It's really getting down to the line with the difficulty increases, I mean they should at least make back what I spent on them, plus a few extra BTC, but not nearly what I was hoping for when I ordered
Yeah, I think you will have me beat though.... By the time mine get's here I'll be happy to break even within 100yrs... LOL
Once a month on a weekend day they line up local industry "Experts" this past weekedn they had BitPay, Bitcoin Foundation, an Angel Investor and a Developer demonstrate his zero knowledge code/work.
Then once a week he has an informal get together and who ever shows up talks about their topics of interest with each other - topics depend on who shows up.
The key is the Gent who is running lead is doing a great job of running lead and setting up the venues and presenters.
Not sure if anyone is willing or able to take on that kind of torch and run with it...
I see a lot of talk about our choice of case design, in fact about our design choices in general so I thought I would jump in and clear some things up if I can.
We have always tried to make it clear that we aim to provide a machine that gets shipped on time.
Time to market is the most critical thing for us. We have a small window of opportunity here with a lot of competition coming out after us with products they claim are better than ours. (well after all they wouldnt be very good competition if they claimed it would be worse.)
So yes we have saved time on a few things. We can all agree that the look of the machine is not a top priority. We never said it would be. if its a big enough deal we could always put up a poll on our site and ask. Then we would know for our next generation. Sweden has some lovely design houses that would welcome the consult on a global product. This wouldnt make it hash any faster but it would delay the product shipment for sure. These things would have to be modeled tested and tried etc etc, A far easier solution would be to use off the shelf parts which have a proven track record, over spec them by quite a bit (going back to our margins upon margins upon margins claim) So the decision was an easy one. The first boxes to leave our building will be delivered on time because we havent spent even a single meeting debating anything that was not 100% essential. The look is not essential for us at all, most of our customers dont care and that means we dont care.
As for the external power supply. Most small devices come with an external power supply ours is just a big devices that needs one. We could make our device bigger and have the power supply inside which would mean a larger shipping box, and a larger package sent to you. That would mean extra shipping costs. It would also mean more engineering of the airflow inside the case. (all fans must point the same way really) This comes under the waste of time category a far quicker solution is to let the customer supply and use an external power supply, (like all of the smaller components) Then you can simply have it on the outside of the case so it wont get in the way of the airflow. Yes it fits on a 19inch rack shelf, There is space behind the unit for a power supply on the shelves (this is what we are doing in our hosting), You are welcome to use cable ties to make it look nice and keep it secure if you want to. Another one of our internal rules is that unless its 100% essential we simply dont spend time on it.
The bottom line is what you are getting from KNC is over engineered and not over designed. Imagine how upset people would be if we had something that looked great but we were delayed because of the design.
Thanks
Sam
You Sir are correct. Deadline, Deadline, DEADLINE!!!!!! Let's make sure you meet, and hopefully beat, the delivery deadline of a quality product that works!!!
