Spare ad inventory on NewsBTC at special price
by

Fellow members,
A while ago I purchased ad inventory on newsbtc.com for marketing purposes. I have just over EUR 2k worth of inventory left over that I don't intend to use. If someone is planning to advertise on NewsBTC, I'll transfer you my inventory at a discount compared to the portal's original prices. The price is negotiable. If you're interested, let's set up a 3-way conversation with NewsBTC management, who will confirm my information and arrange the inventory transfer in a transparent and secure way.

Seems the market needs this service,is this idea distinctive or there are sites offering this service already exist on the intranet?
There are plenty of stock photo websites that sell images, but we are very different. Our photos better cater to growing demand for authentic content. We also release photos in a limited edition, which eliminates the problem of everyone using the same image. We also address other painpoints in content creator's routine.

These websites are oriented at professionals photographers. It's hard to start due to entry requirements and costly equipment. You also need to set up yet another account and app for submitting and managing photos. With Picax anyone can start selling photos on Instagram by simply adding #picax to posts as always. You experience all platform features (follower growth, themed challenges etc.) in full without ever leaving Instagram, your comfort zone. Our White Paper will be released very soon to cover more of this.

what platforms do you use on your token?
Thanks for asking. This answer doesn't need to be long to be full - Erc 20, Ethereum.

This would be perfect solution, buying photos from hobby photographers and paying symbolic price to them, for example $1 up to $10 and they would be happy and I wouldn't need to worry that someone will sue me for unauthorised use of his photos.

I have one more question, because I'm not a Instagram user. So when you upload a photo there, Instagram probably shrinks it, lowers the resolution, right? What about if a buyer wants a full resolution photo, how would this be possible thru your Picax platform?

Te eliminate the need to pay every time you need an image, we will be working on subscription basis that will be around $30. If you need at least 3 photos per month, it will be right there at your desired price point. For a social media marketer who needs 1-2 photos on daily basis for social posts, the price-per-photo is comparable to that of a chocolate bar. Smiley

You're absolutely right. As of today, Instagram allows photos to be fetched of up to 1080x1080px in size. This is enough for most needs in daily content creation like blogposts, newsletters, Facebook or... Instagram. Smiley For some tasks like print materials, the resolution is not sufficient. We address it with two action points:

1. Phase 2 of the roadmap includes integrations with cloud photo storage services that don't set such limit.
2. For the time being, our customer service will help you with ad-hoc needs like this one.

And it's only reasonable to expect that Instagram's API will support higher resolutions in near future. Their API is growing in popularity and last year they also added the long-awaited pinch-to-zoom feature that is handicapped by the resolution cap in the first place. Meanwhile, bandwidth and data is getting cheaper and faster, with 5G expected to gain momentum by 2020.

reserved turkish translation dev.   Cool

Turkish, great Smiley As advised earlier, stay tuned to see if it makes the final list. Thanks for your reservation.

Sell Instagram photos, sound very interesting. but why anyone will be interested to sell his/her Instagram photos?

Hi! A simple question with a simple answer - monetizing your hobby and making a name for yourself in photography business. And the photos still remain yours, since it's only the license to use them that is actually sold. So instead of just staying there among your old Instagram posts, it could have real-world impact when a famous brand or a popular blog uses it for something cool and creative. It used to be complicated, but now that with Picax it only takes a single hashtag to do it, is there a reason not to? Smiley

what about copyright in an image that is sold in your application
if the image has been sold a photographer has no copyright anymore?
while the photo is the result of their work...
Thanks for asking! What the customer buys is the license (i.e. the right) to use the photo. We will publish the license terms that define what "using" is. For example, you may produce content with the image, but you may not resell the image. The photo itself still belongs to the photographer.

hi, looks nice project, where i can find more token details like supply? good luck
Thanks erv! There will be a total of 35 000 000 PIC tokens made available, with no further emissions planned. The price of 1 PIC token will be equivalent to $1. The tokens issued will remain in circulation until exchanged by their holders for unique privileges like services at a special discounted price, advertising, consulting by Picax staff and more. Our White Paper elaborates more on this, and we will publish it in the upcoming days. Stay tuned!

I don't use Instagram but many of my friends do so I know it's quite popular around here. I want to ask, why would someone pay for a photo if you can simply right click and download it?

What is the minimum investment and what is the price per token?
Are you planning to do signature campaign or what kind of bounties? I will check the details when you open the Bounty thread.
Good luck, this project has potential!
Thank you for your questions, zakalwe. Downloading a photo like that infringes copyright and damages the author. Some people get away with this, but it is not the norm, especially when it comes to publishing content as a business. A marketer or blogger can forever damage his company's brand through unauthorized use of somebody's content. Hence, a straight-forward license and a small price is what keeps them safe. We will also use a few tools like watermarks and potentially a disabled right click on the image to weed out most unauthorized attempts and protect photographers' content. Hope that explains it Smiley

1 PIC will have a price that is equivalent to $1. We do not set a minimum investment limit. Unlike most other tokensale campaigns, we're launching this platform regardless of the tokensale results. We will complete the beta in a couple of months, while the additional funds will be used to build a more robust product and grow the business at scale. We want to make the platform available to as many casual photographers as possible.

And as far as bounty and signature in particular, we're finalizing the terms for you right now. Expect an update mid next week!

Re: Economic Idiocy

The problem with this particular forum is that it seems that many (most?) of the posters don't really know the slightest thing about basic economics. Not the Austrian School, the Chicago School, Keynesian economcs, Paulsy Krugmanian, Bastiat, Hayek, Mises, Prescott, Lucas, zip. Nada. Nothing.

It reminds me of the people who will happily discuss US budgets and monetary policy, but don't know the first thing about fiat money, the Federal Reserve, what the power of the printing press actually means, or anything else. They are the same people that think that there is a Social Security "Trust Fund" and never pause to think what it would mean to loan money to themselves.

As a greater commentary, beyond this board, it's a very sad thing. This stuff is important.

And the problem with "economics" is that none of the models actually reflects what happens in the real world (maybe a silhouette at best until a bubble bursts and they all stand around looking dumbfounded wondering how did that happen because that's not in their model), and that people who call themselves "economists" are complete shams too.

Here is the reason why I'm investing more in bitcoin:

Our monetary system requires an ever expanding debt base in order to sustain itself (because money=debt). The issue is that most people, governments and companies in the western nations are so far in debt that they cannot take on the required loans to continue the expansion of the money supply to the level that is required to keep the system working. This is why central banks have had to step in with Quantitive Easing - to make up the shortfall in debt/money creation that we previously took on ourselves.

So our monetary system essentially behaves like a great big ponzie scheme (which actually broke in 2008 and has been collapsing ever since). Just wait until the Fed starts to reduce QE in 2014 - I predict markets to start going haywire and they will have step back in and actually increase the money printing to $100+ billion every month. That's when the average people (and the media) will finally realise that things have started to go really wrong, and the price of bitcoin will break into 6 figures.

Couple a monetary system that requires infinite growth with the fact that we live on a planet with finite resources and it's pretty easy to predict how it will turn out. There is nothing to be admired about anyone that calls themselves an "economist" or thinks they know about "economics".

Here is a litmus test to try out on someone who claims to be an economist: Ask them if they think economics is a science. If they say "yes", then ask them if they can explain the "scientific method". If they can explain it, then ask them why economics is taught as a "humanity" in school? If they can't explain, punch them in the face.

phiche, agree 100%

As someone who excelled at Economics in high school I have to admit that economic theory (nowadays) is but an excuse for the horrific amount of financial theft taking place in today's system.
It has so little bearing on reality that economics textbooks may as well be sold in the fiction section. As a teenager, economics seemed something so noble. It was the science that explained how people connect through commerce, why currencies exist, why wealth gaps exist and how governments administrate the economy for the good of society.

When you see the sheer amount of corruption and theft at the highest level, you begin to see that all this is irrelevant.
We are all rats in an economic experiment which aims to test just how low you will go just to be able to consume more so that you can satisfy some manufactured craving. IMO, western society has been reduced to the economic formula: work->consume->die.

Hopefully, people on this forum see how cryptocurrencies can help us break out of this hypnotic cycle and start to change the world around us for the better. I don't think you need to be very knowledgeable in economics to see what is going on.

Desik,
I only read the first 3 pages of this thread so forgive me if im repeating something somebody else already said.
Bitcoin is deflationary not inflationary. It can be denominated into tiny units called satoshis. Google it.
It is similar to gold in that it is hard to produce and is(soon to be) universally accepted store of value.  This is where the similarities end. Your historical arguments about various crises are invalid as bitcoin is all about bypassing the global financial system that has been responsible for (more or less) EVERY financial crisis in the 100-120 years. Dont forget that thre Rothschild family dictates the price of gold. Im not sure whether they also control bitcoin.
