2 Spondoolie SP10's for sale in NJ

If you live in or around NJ and want a couple SP10's let me know. Dad and I are selling ours that we just received this week. Both work perfectly, are built like tanks but just a little too noisy for us in our homes. My girlfriend rules my world I guess. We just don't have the accommodations and setup like some of you have at home so that's why we are selling them. And it kills me as I write this because bitcoin is now over $600.

We paid $2795+$193 shipping = $2988

We are selling both for $5200, which is $2600 for each one. Gives you almost $400 off each one. Please, the price is firm.

If you are interested please message me here on the forums and I'll give you my contact information. I would need to drive my SP10 to my Dad's place, which is a couple hours away so if you are interested please contact me as soon as you can. I'll check the forums as much as I can today.

Thank you,

Michael

Refunded.  Wire charges amount to $18.  So, Thursday refunds don't arrive on Tuesday but Wednesdays.

Are people buying coins with the refunded amounts?  I'm at a bit of a loss at what to do with the new funds.. Re-invest in BTC or keep the USD and pay off the house Smiley

keeping my preorders....

..... I want to make money

does not compute unless you used someone elses money for those preorders

At today's speculation by some about the future rise in the difficulty, no it doesn't. Take the difficulty rise in the past, the present rate, and calculate the percent increases and project that over successive two week periods to the end of the year, then take into account how many TH/s the miners will do and yes, it's still projected to be profitable to the end of the year.

I don't work on emotional speculation. I work with hard numbers. Those hard numbers tell me it's not time to dump the mining gear, in hand and working or preorders. That may change over the next several increases in the difficulty but as of today it hasn't.

Also it's not other people's money, it's mine.

You should also be considering the amount of BTC you could buy with the funds that you have locked up in pre-orders.  if that exceeds the amount that you will gain from having the mining, then it is obviously a better idea to get a refund & buy BTC.

wow..nice one

They've been mining there for a long while.  It has been pointed out a number of times that it is very likely to be KNC.  It certainly isnt hashfast (the pool admin confirmed as much).

"Over the next few months we are bringing online enough hashing power to make sure that any delay in the Neptune timeline will be compensated with a completely free hosted hashing packages to all fully paid customers.

In the addition to this commitment, as part of Plan B, for all Neptune customers, we will be offering a free conversion to a hosted hashing package where we will simply fill your wallets directly and you won’t have to worry about anything else. All the other costs taken care of by us."

Does that means customers can opt in for free hosting for Neptunes?

Trying to wrap my head around it.

(total speculation) They are positioning themselves to be the dominant player in bitcoin generation/transaction validation.  Notice that they don't detail the amount of time that they will host your miners in their facility... presumably if you opt for this hosting package then you get 2 years (or so) of hosted hashing after which, you no longer own the device.  Once that happens, they will own the lions share of the hashing power and have an unlimited number of 20 nm chips they can toss out on the network whenever they want.

Genius plan.

Watching this thread is incredible.  It is a story of deceit, desperation, sherlock-esque investigation, childish name calling, revelation, recovery, greed, and a true to form m night shyamalan twist at the end.

Who gets the BTC when this fiasco gets made into a movie?

P.S. as someone who has absolutely nothing vested in this discussion, you should probably donate that 80% of whatever remains after those tips you made to sean's outpost.

So I am fairly certain this whole thread was a scam from the beginning. And a lot of us fell for it.
It looks like he did well as a reseller: http://reseller.kncminer.com/orders

234 Sales and 59 Orders, which I assume means 59 Neptunes were paid.

The good thing is Bitcoinorama told me that if enough people report this guy to KNC then they will most probably remove him as a reseller and withdraw his rewards.
So I urge everyone to contact KNC and report this guy. Later on this week I will provide you with a template letter to forward to KNC, which you can edit if you want.
Also I will be contacting everyone on this list personally.

Also it is very likely that the scammer is reading this topic and he might conveniently re-appear with a made up story of why he was away and not being able to participate here, even though he has regularly visited the forum as I was checking him daily. He will probably try to convince us that all is good, when he see that he will most probably loose all his rewards and his reseller status, which is what he deserves anyway.
Please don't fall for it.

Let me know if he doesn't show up.  I'll gladly send a note to KNC.

The noise sounds like the fan is rubbing up against one of the radiator blades...  Were there any leaks with the water cooling?

So far, 1/1 units appear to have significant damage upon arrival.   Is anyone keeping a tally?  Might not hurt to start one.

Also - You might want to consider giving them a call to discuss a warranty claim (i think they only warrant these devices for a couple weeks).  At the very least, they can start to resolve the issues and they may end up shipping you a replacement unit.  Sounds like they have very serious issues to resolve.

The first rigs indeed did not make $70,000 and I'll keep that opinion until someone can proove it. I don't see how it is possible. Yea, Bitcoin did reach $1k but it certainly didn't stay there.

IF someone who got the first Jupiter, mined with no issues, sold their ~45btc @$1150 then sold their miner for 18btc (and sold right away) then they made over $70k (less price of miner)

doubt anyone did that

Grin  Why?  only a few trades... and much better is possible too.
BTC hit over a grand several times.....
I even made $ on accident transferring to/from banks
could have easily been different tho
example... withdrew 3900 a few weeks ago when the price was over 1200
to buy a car which I resold because the price had dropped to around 800 again....
Bitstamp's amazing 18 hour international Bank transfer helped.
3.2 coin turned into 5
With any amount of "luck" or skill...  35 coin could easily become 100k....
or you could easily end up broke too... name of the game

btw..   10.57%    12d 4hr 35m 7s    whew... yup. forgot about that

and....
on refunds....

Hi,

This refund was initiated in the new year after the holiday period had finished, which is why there is some delay. I have confirmed that the payment has left our account and is on its way to you. You should see this very soon.

Thanks for your patience in this matter.

This could also work to our advantage!

Getting cold feet with one of your neptune orders and just buying coins instead? Huh

It's difficult to always project difficulty out. When I project it out, I generally do the worst case scenario.

With 30% difficulty jumps, with 10% lower difficulty per jump, an early July delivery Neptune that has a total cost of 11000 USD @ 0.15kWh, will still be profitable in 2014 (although just barely), at a 750 Bitcoin valuation. These are not small jumps at all and I would consider it the worst case scenario (first jump is 400m, 450m, 500m, ect)

@Avenger, I do agree that buying and holding has been historically better. I believe most individuals that purchased various hardware in BTC would today have opted to buy and hold. Any Day 1 / Day 2 owners that can comment how much their units have generated to date in BTC? Let us know what device and average GH is as well. It is possible that you could have mined enough, and sold your coins and miners when it was at an ATH to earn 70k+ off a single miner. I think we're approaching that point where an original BTC investment may pay off. Of course, a year down the line, we may look at today very differently - that's what I love about this ride.

I have a day one jupiter (that was actually shipped on day one) that has already passed the BTC required to break even.  If i was to sell the unit, i would be very much in the black.  It was clearly a good investment from a BTC and Fiat standpoint

It sounds like you're just terrible at timing hardware purchases. I've got three Jupiters that have been hashing away for 6 weeks are have already earned back 80% of the BTC I paid for them.

Pretty much everyone bought October Jupiters when btc was hovering around $100. So me and 7000-9000 others were terrible at timing hardware purchases by that logic Grin

In case it's unclear, I meant October units when I said "2000 - 5000 devices shipped after October 16th will not ROI". I wasn't talking about November units, just so that's clear.

November units are a different equation - what is the BTC ROI on those? 10-20BTC? I vaguely remember Phoenix saying he bought around the $350/btc mark.

Bitcoin price was around 150 bucks (except for the huge jump near the end when it hit 200).  Units were 5000 each and had a 10% discount on BTC payemnts (4500/150=30 BTC needed to break even)

I'm offering to you a new jalapeno bitforce gives about average 6.5 Gh/s, it's used for only one day, I'm offering it to you by .5 bitcoin, if someone needs to go high more than that, it would be nice   Wink, shipping on the buyer.

You may want to check out BFL's site, they are offering a new one for like $374 USD for 10 GH/s.  A terrible deal, but good luck selling it.

Subscribe to KNC newsletter and have the BTC ready to order if they decides to put a new batch of 28nm miners.

I actually hope for KNC to release more Jupiter into the wild. The only problem I see with holding your 5000 for that is, who knows what the price will be.

I like Dave at MBP with his bitfury gear and I have some of it. Problem is, when he put boards back on the market he doubled the USD price. No one really wants to pay that for them.

So, will KNC do the same? People, including myself have been paying 4.2BTC for antminers and they sell all of them. Thats only 200GH/s overclocked. Are we going to see 9 BTC Jupiters? (5K wont touch that). I hope I am wrong and KNC puts them on the market lower and starts a price war with BITMAINs antminer. Not often the miners get a chance at the benefits of competition.
.

Best Regards,

This is speculation, but it is highly likely that KNC Jup's will only be for previous customers ONLY (sorry new customers!).

This is a bit odd, i tried running the SED command and when it rebooted CGminer it prompted me to enter the pool credentials etc... I rebooted the miner and now cgminer and now i am getting some CGminer errors related to pool credentials etc?  Any ideas?

Edit: Very odd, eligius works with this mod, but bitminter does not.  Perhaps it has something to do with the pool credentials?  Anyone have any insight?

Edit2: Bitminter pool seems to be back up using original unmodified file.

There's absolutely no possible way that the sed command (if run on cgminer.sh) would have altered your pool credentials in any way. Is it possible that you ran sed against cgminer.conf instead?

Nope - no possible way.  For some reason, it takes 5 minutes or so for CGminer to figure out that the bitminter pool is alive.  Eliguis works perfectly well right at bootup.  After about 10 minutes of mining, CGminer will revert back to the bitminter pool once it verifies that it is alive.

In summary - For those of you running on bitminter, please configure a backup pool in the KNCminer web interface ( i had only configured mine in the cgminer.conf file) BEFORE running this command.

What do you mean restart the miner?

sed sBD1BF1B /config/zzz.sh ; /config/zzz.sh restart

Does it rewrites the zzz.sh file?  or its only in memory and resets when miner is rebooted?

Thanks!

You probably shouldnt be monkeying around with your miner if you don't understand the SED command... You've been warned.

The substitute command changes all occurrences of the regular expression into a new value.  In the case above, it is substituting BD1BF1B in the cgminer.sh file and creating a new zzz.sh file.  The command then runs the zzz.sh script
