Well ...

We should setup our own and stay with it - not just rent hash.

Follow through with a set number of people joining in as one group and keep it hashing. So every little Moner will be for the Greater Group HashRate.

#crysx #cwi

The problem I have with that is by the time you've got enough hashrate within a group, the split on the winnings isn't big enough to make it interesting and it would have been better off hashing to PPLNS.

The winnings just get too diluted. I'd be massively frustrated should I join a group then my little rig is the one to turn up the win and end up having to split with 60 other people.

Each to their own but for me solo, means solo.

Maybe ...

Though Greed has never driven Me nor has Money - but what You say does make sense.

I guess it is yet to be seen whether a very large HashRate is better and more proficient (no matter how small the part of reward - as long as there are many) to solve more blocks than trying for one for most of the SoloMiners here.

It would be good to be able to at least see it all in action.

Double frustrating for them given that two days earlier that would have been a block.

Indeed, quite unreal.

The diff now at an all time high and the global hashrate pushing close to 1 Zetta hash.

The odds for small solo miners diminishes substantially at each retarget

Mind boggling to say the least.

Well ...

We should setup our own and stay with it - not just rent hash.

This is the second time today that I've seen this error on the pool:

"Proxy Error
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request

Reason: Error reading from remote server

Apache/2.4.41 (Ubuntu) Server at solostats.ckpool.org Port 443"

I don't use proxy. Is the pool working fine?

Well ...

Unless Apache (httpd) is built for htts:// - then this will continue to happen. It is a http;// Proxy in it's basic form and within the conf can be configured (through various 'tricks') to Proxy https:// also.

Otherwise, simply bypass all https;// sites to direct Internet links.

We at CWI use the same Proxy - VERY Powerful indeed.

Electrum-BLK v4.5.8

Electrum-BLK v4.5.8 has been released.
It can be downloaded on https://github.com/CoinBlack/electrum-blk/releases/tag/v4.5.8

Notable changes:
  • Updated to Electrum 4.5.8
  • Updated scrypt dependency to 0.8.24 and 0.8.27

Still Going Mate? ...

Good to see - though in a RealWorld sense, there is little to be seen by the vast majority of Coin Projects. I miss the early days.

I hope You are doing well also - it has been way too long and I have moved off BCT due to many reasons.

#crysx #cwi
I agree that here is actually not much progress.

Anyway, the project is alive and being worked on.

Well ...

Let Me know if I can be of any assistance. Things are MUCH smaller in terms of InfraStructure than when it was a Year ago - so any help I can do - I will.

#crysx #cwi
Thank you very much for the proposal.
We would greatly appreciate any help with testing and development (C++, Rust).

Understand yes my brother, the question is, the result of last week's lottery together with the last few years following logic we came to the conclusion that we can reach the same result from now on, even because we are in 2025 and there is a lot ahead, so based on the experience of the last few years we can believe in seeing more blocks in the ck pool both with small TH or even PH, even because the code and the pool were made for this, that's what it says on the website solo.ckpool.org, even if the solution of blocks with smaller hashes is of a rare nature I believe that this is what will keep hope for those who do not have much hash or even those who have a lot of hash. In other words, the result of the last few years and results from now on will say a lot about the future of the ck pool

Its random, its only ever been random, it will only ever be random.

What happend yesterday has no bearing on what happens today or tomorrow.

Re: BitCrack - A tool for brute-forcing private keys
by
chrysophylax
on 02/05/2025, 23:28:40 UTC
Impressive work on BitCrack—it’s lean, focused, and clearly built with GPU optimization in mind. CUDA acceleration makes perfect sense for this kind of workload, especially given the parallelism involved in key space exploration.

As a smart contract auditor and blockchain dev with experience optimizing EVM bytecode and building GPU-accelerated zk-proof systems (e.g., using Circom and snarkJS/Groth16 pipelines), I appreciate the performance engineering that goes into brute-force tools like this—even for educational and puzzle-solving use cases.

I’d be interested in collaborating or contributing in areas like:

Cross-platform GPU support (OpenCL + ROCm for AMD cards)

Checkpointing mechanisms for distributed or interruptible scanning

WebAssembly interface for light client exploration or visualization tools

Integration with puzzle leaderboard/analytics tools, maybe even bridging with Web3 identity (e.g., signing results on-chain)

Also, for anyone approaching this from a crypto-ed angle: this is a great opportunity to understand elliptic curve key space structure, which directly connects to how wallet entropy and key security is enforced.

Keep it up—this kind of work continues to inspire technically grounded discussion in the space.

Hmmm ...

Seems We may have something to chat about with our Team later on in the Year Wink

Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning

In 2017 when ICOs were popping up day after day, investors only had a limited amount to invest in projects. Many of them were scams therefore if you were fooled once, you would not want to invest again no matter how lucrative the project appeared. Binance was obviously one of the those rare success stories but countless others failed.

As with many of these types of investments, you have to be in the right place at the right time otherwise the opportunity passes you by. That 2017 ICO era is over, I doubt we will see anything like that again.

I didn't know Binance was an ICO. I see was in 2017 and with BNB tokens sold at $0.15 each. I entered some ICOs that year and I missed the jackpot.

Thank God ...

It is over and NEVER again.

As much as I despise Regulatory interference, it is the prosecutions that happened after all the ICO rush that stopped things like that in its tracks. Though in saying that, now We have VERY Sophisticated Scams going on. But few and far between in the public eye now. The Public scams are simply aimed at those that have always had a leniency to be scammed.

#crysx #cwi
But I have the feeling that regulation has put an end to legitimate ICOs, while scam projects and memecoins continue on their path using very similar systems: launchers, etc. I don't fully understand the nuances, but I do miss serious projects. Will it be possible for regulatory guarantees to emerge that allow for a restart of such initiatives? I read about some drafts for new DAO regulations.

I believe so ...

The regulatory boundaries of these forms of Funding will be along the lines of the current 'FIAT Based' IPO/ICO practices if they get their way.

Again though - Regulation does NOT ensure anything except Government/Banking Control over these things - so I agree with You in the sense that 'Real' IPO/ICO could be held back because of such Regulations.

We will all see what happens since it is all unfolding before Us and in the Public arena.

Let's hope the Regulatory departments have sense this time around (which looks like it will - SEC I am pointing at You) rather than have the closed Illegal rulings they had when that imbecile was running (ie - ruining) the place.

to put it another way.

Doesn't matter who it is, or where they mine BTC to.

If you only have a Bitaxe 601 and are trying to hit a BTC block;  you have a ~0.007% chance of hitting a block in one year.   Anything more or less is just a lucky nonce.  Nothing more, nothing less.

Shares on a solo pool are just a measure of if your miner is still reporting things to the pool... they dont count for anything other than a heartbeat.

If you are doing merged mining (merged pool share mining, not solo);  your shares count for your share of the winnings;  but thats in relation to the difficulty of shares being given.  If your machine is reporting shares at 1,000+ difficulty;  they will be worth less of a cut than the other person's shares being reported at 100,000+ difficulty.  in fact, 100 times less.

See how it works?

BTW;  congrats to the recent pool winner.   I noticed my miner's high diff result reset the day the block was found.    Since I finally bought a house and could afford to;  I finally got and plugged in a lottery machine after all these years of absence.   I moved away from my old spot where I had free power (back when the S7 was brand new, I ran one in my RV for many years all for free).    But hey, power in Wisconsin is not anything compared to the cost of Cali where I was originally at.

You think your electric costs are high. Try living in the UK. $0.33 per KW/h

Or here ...

Autsralia - 0.38/KWH

Bloody Joke!

Anyone who spends many years in the pool has a better chance of finding a block on the ground, right?
No it is Not better.
But how more hashpower you have so more chance to find a block.
Own mining farm or big rentals.

Best regards and happy mining
Willi

I would be happy to setup a Farm with Members or Owners' of the Farm to do this.

Each has a piece of it and each has a piece of the Expenses AND 'Winnings' as well.

I won't sell the CWI one - but We could easily setup another one.

wich wallet i can use for a phone (apple)

Phones are very unsecure. I can't recommend any for phones. They exist, but are not smart.

There was one ...

But they killed the Company that made them. Some excuse about it not being 'viable' but chances are they killed the Company AND the Project because they refused to BackDoor the Process for the Government/Bankers.

This 'Phone' was even capable of obfuscating Data in real time - so checking Your Account on the Pool, Wallet, Banking or even just chatting was unhackable.
