Hello, dear octominer and it's customers.
I glad want to declare Octominer scammers.

that's a bit excessive to call them scammers, isn't it?  if they were scammers they would have just taken your money and never send you anything at all.  I've had 3 successful orders from them for what its worth and many people have a LOT of octominer rigs.  I doubt they would throw their reputation in the industry away for 1 small order mistake.  It doesn't seem like their fault the customs in your country rejected the package.  They should obviously refund you and I expect they either already have or will be.  Thanks for bringing this to our attention regardless, hope you get your money back.

It crashes at every algo switch, regardless of the OC settings.

yeah my rigs are only vaguely stable with the way my overclocks are set and with the pill.  even just a brief network blip to the pool server and re-connection will crash a couple of my rigs, and I could forget about doing any kind of pool/algo switching on them.   so I just point them at eth and reboot every few hours :-/

Can you elaborate more on your statement that GPU mining is almost about to exit?

I assume he's referring to the fact that there are now equihash and ethash asics available on the market, which make gpu mining unprofitable for equihash and is severely hampering profitability for the remaining gpu-mineable algorithms.  Couple that with ETH likely going proof-of-stake and we may be in for a dark winter of gpu mining.  But you never know in crypto...

am I the only one using ethminer? its capable of 54Mh if your overclock is, what is the benefit of phoenix/claymore? don't they have dev fees? why pay that if you don't have to

suddently today all my HiveOS nvidia rigs on ethminer are hashing at only 44Mh instead of 53, its like the overclock isn't working at all.  I tried to manually run some overclock commands that I know worked even yesterday and I just get:
ERROR: Error querying enabled displays on GPU 0 (Missing Extension).

I hadn't updated hive in a while so I tried updating to latest to see if it would fix but same problem... not sure wtf but something is wrong with the nvidia driver I guess

after tuning my overclocks I'm sitting quite happy at 53-54Mh on my 1080tis in HiveOS.   impressive.
Can you share your oc?
My hasrate is not stable 4x1080ti aours. Reporter hs on pool from 175-220... all the time..

HiveOS, 1080ti (various) +0 core, +1400 mem, power limit 180-200w depending on the card.  one of my rigs I have to step up the overclock +600, +1000, +1400 over a few minutes to help initial stability when I first start it up

It's very funny when someone lauch an Asic, a lot of another pop out
Every asic maker mine a lot with asics, and then they decided to sell to idiots at the same time  Grin Grin Grin

its like a game of chicken, they all want to mine in secret as long as possible but as soon as one releases they all start dumping

May be the people who got in first cpl of weeks will get ROI. I think ZEC will get their act together and fork much sooner than end of year. I think GPU miners will win either way

unfortunately I think now that there are multiple equihash asics available they will use this as the excuse not to fork off asics. they'll say its no longer a centralization threat since its not just 1 manufacturer

I am getting just over 50Mh/s with various 1080ti's on HiveOS using 200w power limit, +0 core clock, +650 mem.   would love to know how to get closer to 54Mh or how else I could optimize

can someone share their Nvidia overclocking settings in Hive OS for 1080ti with this?   I can't seem to get it past 50Mh

not every card performs the same. just because someone else gets 55MH doesnt mean you will.

i have a card that will do 56MH if i crank it (but it's dialed back to 53/54 with a lot less OC and power)
i have another card that will only do 47/48.

it is what it is.

agreed, its just weird that every one of my diverse collection of 1080ti is stuck at 49.5 Mh..  keep tweaking overclock values and it just reduces the hashrate or tops out there at 49.5.  meh

would love to see what hashrate people are getting in Hive with this on 1080ti and what OC settings used

How to setup HiveOS for SOLO mining with ccminer?

How i can add --no-longpoll --no-getwork --no-stratum --coinbase-addr= xxx commands?

I try:
"--no-getwork"
"no-getwork"
no-getwork
"no-getwork":true
"--no-getwork":true

in "Extra arguments for miner:"
But wont work.

one way would be to setup your own nomp/unomp instance (run your own private pool) and point your rigs at it. but someone will probably come along and tell you how with ccminer options directly, I haven't tried

Purchased the board, case, and server power supply.  All looking good so far, excited to not be using risers and if we can get this one rig going we'll be buying 8 more setups.

Working on getting 8 GTX 1060 cards going on W10.  For some reason at cards 5 or 6 W10 starts to have issues.  Everything is solid and stable at 4 cards (sometimes 5) and mines with no issues at this point.

When cards 5+ go into the motherboard I get one of the following issues.

-Windows doesn't load at all.
-Windows will load and then flash on and off, no clickable actions.
-Windows will load and I just get the spinning circle.  I've let this run overnight thinking W10 is doing it's thing but no go.

I've reloaded W10 three times now.  Each time will load with on-board video and then add one gpu.  After Windows loads the drivers I load cards one at a time with a reboot in-between each.

I've increased virtual memory as well with no go.

Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated.

I had the same problems with Windows.  Now using HiveOS, rock solid which is fantastic.   You might try plugging in more of the 6pin connectors for the motherboard... saw it suggested before in this thread for Windows.  I've not tried it since I've abandoned windows but worth a shot.

Is the heat in these compact designs really a problem?

its only a problem if you try running it open-air.  they are designed to be encased in a chassis with high-powered fans for intake and exhaust (see octominer case with 7 delta fans).   In this configuration I have 8 cards crammed together and the rigs are in a hot garage in Texas and the gpus are plenty cool due to the massive airflow

interesting.  I really like my octominer rigs but the option to drop in a more powerful cpu might be useful, and competition is always good.   Would be interested in a 4U case that has room for 2 PSUs and support for this board.  one thing I noticed is this has a lot more 6pin power inputs on the board compared to octominer's.  Not sure if this board requires all those to be filled?

Hey. Try connecting all 5 of the 6PIN power connectors on the motherboard. Some GPUs draw more power from the PCI lanes and sometimes it is required to connect all 5 of the motherboard power connectors.

I wonder if thats why I was having trouble with windows when I got my first octominer rig.  Anyway I've since switched to HiveOS and these boards are stable as hell on it, I love it
