@patrike I have a question about awesome miner connection to the miner, looking at the detailed log it looks like AM make an API call to the miner every second, doesnt this cause a performance issue for the miner
Awesome Miner request the status from the miner API every 5 seconds by default. You can also right click on an External Miner and select Properties to change this interval.
No matter if you have an ASIC miner or GPU miner, the mining calculations are made on the actual ASIC chip or GPU while the API requests are processed on the CPU. For this reason, there shouldn't be any performance impact.
I meant to say 5 seconds, but still every 5 seconds it opens a socket connection, sends an API command and disconnects the socket that must have some effect on the performance, have you done any performance benchmark

I have a question about the SMTP notifications, if the awesome miner fails to send a notification email for some reason, is there a way for the program to resend it
I've power enough in my shop to run a few miners. No direct Internet connection but there is a wifi hotspot my laptop/netbook can access. What I'm stuck on it how to add a switch or router to connect a couple miners.
One important point to check is the network times.
I just put in a pair of ubiquti airmax powerbeam-ac (https://www.ubnt.com/airmax/powerbeam-ac-gen2/) between my house and a shed. It is rated for 24km of distance, so my 300 meters is nothing for it. ping times are pretty much the same in the shed as in my house. Something to consider if you have $120 to spend per dish.
The PowerBeam AC is an excellent product, I use the same for my server room which is about 400 ft. from my house. Ubiquiti also has few cheaper alternatives to this like the NanoBeam AC or the NanoStation AC
Thanks for the link, I already set up the Pi its syncing the blockchain right now. I should have worded my question differently I wanted to know how the experience of running the node has been on the raspberry pi since it only has 1 GB RAM
Your going to have to override some defaults and reduce memory usage. I would suggest you look at:
-maxmempool (defaults to 300MB) -dbcache (defaults to 450MB)
Presumably your blockchain is being stored on an external USB 2.0 disk drive, since you would eat your SDHC card alive with activity.

I hate to be the one to say it, but it seems possible that some of our hashpower may be going to that other pool now that they are getting closer in size and getting more frequent blocks than before...
That will die down once Halong is done burning in their machines.
Well, hopefully in the meantime, Kano can get ASICBoost enabled and 'even the playing field' a little bit.
That should create some excitement too considering how many people ask about it and how few pools they work on so far (at least from my understanding).
And the "other other" pool is over 4.216 Eh/s That is also where people are going to...to get that multiple blocks per day and no reward for it.
The other other pool is doing better for the year per Th/s according to MinerGain

I moved to kano pool nearly a month ago from slush (and liking it so far) still figuring my way around, is there an API call that can get you the list of your rewards, thanks in advance
The API is just for your current worker stats (and some pool stats), since the rewards doesn't change that often - about once a day at the moment

I just jumped on the kano band wagon today. I was only getting .01 btc every 4 days with aprox 30 TH/s at slushpool. I'm interested to see what I can average on kano.
Just make sure you give the pool enough time to level out variance. Long term, Slushpool charges 2%, Kano charges 0.9%, so your going to see 1.1% more here. Thus 0.1 BTC will average out to 0.1012 BTC, adjusted for difficulty increases of course.
I finally rescanned the slush and kano records to hopefully correct my issue, so the https://www.minergain.com/?btcstats gives real-time information between kano and slush since last month. As mentioned, this does not take ramp up / down into account for either pool, but gives you a "what if" of the historical results. For some reason the CDT values from the home page do not correspond to the values this report, so I may have a little more review to do. If anyone spends the time to compare, please let me know your results.
According to this Slush pays out about 11% more than Kano, and from my two weeks here on the pool it is a little bit more than that i will see how it works out after a month
Not even close, check your numbers again.
Well as I said earlier according to Miner Gain if you look at the past two months it is about 11% more on Slush than Kano, they only have data available for past two months. I just used an arbitrary number for hash rate (100 Th/s), on Slush it shows a payout of 0.3735512 BTC and on Kano it shows a payout of 0.3376753 BTC that is where I came up with my 11% figure.
