Re: [ANN][WOLF] Project WOLF

I agree that we should know how much WOLF is left. We haven't seen the coin destruction proof of the last InsanitySunday. Moreover Dev mentionned that there were 173k WOLF at the start of phase 2. However soon after that there were more than 200k on the market. He mentionned that it was coming from a mysterious investor who bought 62.5k WOLF from phase 2 pot with some alt coin. But the equivalent BTC never hit the pot and I doubt that the 62.5k went back to the WOLF pot since there was still the 10% fee at the time... I don't mind if old dev has kept more than 6k but we should know exactly how many coins are out there.

Besides that, I am waiting for a refund of phase 2 and also don't get any answers from the old dev...  Cry

Sorry man, but until a dev shows up on a regular basis I wouldn't tell anyone to buy WOLF... I already did that and my family, friends,  and I lost over 15 BTC. From the first time the Dev disappeared I stopped telling people to buy. Awesome features or not WOLF won't make it if people don't trust the dev.

I have put much more than 15 BTC in WOLF so I feel your pain. And I understand that you wouldn't tell anyone to buy WOLF now. However the dev said 3 days ago that he agrees to update the thread twice per week to let us know how development is going. If he does that and delivers new features in the coming months, then people will probably buy WOLF again and price will go up. But if he fails to update the thread regularly then I agree with you that we need to find another solution.

The link to download the windows wallet is broken. Can you please provide us with a new one?

Don't use this link!!! He pasted the same link on different threads of the forum and it seems that the file is installing some kind of virus...

There will be no quick price rise with a new dev or with the old dev... It will take months to rise and it will require new features.

Regarding those new features I think InsanityDev is the best person to deliver them as he has already prototypes. Even if he cannot work full-time I think he will still go faster than any new dev that we would hire.

I agree that disappearing was not a good idea but he seems to have serious family issues and I can understand that real life goes before crypto life. He now agrees to come here and give an update twice per week, which I think is good. So we should give him one or two months and see after that where we are at. In the meantime, if people want to do promotion or help on development I think the dev will be happy to accept that. And we still have some funds to pay for it if those people succeed.

Moving forward there are three possibilities:
1) I create the new features as and when I have time
2) Somebody else takes over and develops whatever as and when they have time (although nothing stops them doing that already..)
3) People help and contribute to the project as and when they have time and things to commit, perhaps with me moving to more of a technical lead position.

I would vote for option 1 if you can agree with the following:
- you update the thread every 2 or 3 days even if nothing has happened on the development side (which is understandable) just to keep the community updated
- when you say that you will deliver something on a defined date, either you deliver it or you update the community as soon as you know you won't be able to respect the deadline
- you keep a few WOLF batches aside for development funds and promotion. As soon as you deliver a new feature, you get a batch to compensate for your work

WOLF coin without innovations (web miners and other planned features from the dev) will just be another scrypt coin... In other words it will be worthless. We need the original dev to stay around and develop those features and we need NWO (and/or other members) to do promotion. It won't be a 2 weeks thing, it will take time and we need to accept that... It is the only way for this coin to succeed.

Side note: InsanityDev, I know you have personal issues. However being a bit more commited and respecting the deadlines you set would really help the community keeping faith in you and the coin...

I'll be working on WOLF tonight and all over the weekend.

Important: I've heard a lot of call to destroy the remaining WOLF supply, does anybody object to this happening over the weekend?

Will catch up and reply this evening when I'm free again.

No objection from me but it would be good if people who bought from the phase 2 pot can get a partial refund or additional WOLFs as a compensation.

How will you destroy the WOLFs now that there is no more 10% destruction fee?

Also, you should keep a few batches aside for you, NWO, for the design contest and for marketing. So maybe destroy 300k and keep 30k?

The bigger picture is that roughly half the coins in existence are distributed already

How many coins are currently in circulation dev? A couple of months ago you mentionned 173k but after that I saw 199k on the sell board and that was without my own holdings. It would be good to know how many coins are currently out there.

There's also the issue of a development and marketing budget which has never been discussed, but given the growing scope of the project now compared to a 9 week game, some provision may need to be made.

I agree that you and NWO should be paid for the work that you are doing for the coin. Maybe we could distribute a few batches of the pot to you two?

The WebMining demo currently requires Web Workers as it's a multithreaded version.

I'm going to work on a version which conditionally decides which features to use so we can begin testing on multiple devices.

For example the current version works on my desktops (500k-1.6m hps), laptops(250-600k hps), and android tablets (50-100k per second hps), but not my mobile or ps3 (no web worker support).

Please help test by opening the link and report if you get a great speed (500k+) slow speed (less than 100k), or it simply fails to load.

See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=471166.msg6761708#msg6761708 for main chain mining setup details.

I get around 400k on my laptop.

I can't really seize control of someone's funds. If you all want to do some sort of community takeover, I would be open to considering leaving the WOLF market up, but we really should get in contact with this guy. I'll send him an email and see if he answers.

I'm thinking of taking it over, so if possible it would be great to leave it up? Otherwise a lot of people are going to lose money.

If he doesn't reply to you and escrow.ms, I'll send him another email.

If you can take it over, I will help in any way that I can.

Thanks Smiley

I'll need the WOLF supply if we do though. I was thinking of destroying the coins or just doing a cheap giveaway and raising some BTC to do a final big pump.

A giveaway to make more people aware of the coin is good but I think the majority of the remaining coins should be destroyed or sold at a decent price otherwise the initial investors who bought at 0.001 and held since will loose big money...

There is no reason to know exact time, unless people want to know the time in order to be the first ones to dump all their coins and run away...  Huh

Do not worry, with 65+ BTC walls, there will be enough to get all the dumpers out for good!

The current status is:
Roughly 173k WOLF are in circulation with the remainder destroyed

Dev are you sure about the 173k figure? There are currently 199k listed for sale on poloniex.

We can't all wait for someone else doing the first step (disclaimer: I bought from dev already).

How about dev acting as a kind of escrow and people would actually buy some wolf from the stash instead of making empty promises?
So maybe we could get the ball rolling by having a sort of 'preorder'?

- Dev sets up a separate BTC account for preorders.
- Dev sets a deadline, e.g. next Sunday.
- If by Sunday there is not enough to fund 3 batches, everyone gets refunded
- If there is enough for 3 or more batches, orders are processed

That sounds good to me. What do you think about it Dev?

Look at the order book on poloniex! Shocked

Almost 10 BTC volume and no order left under the dev price for a few batches. Dumpers seem to be out, it is time to get phase 2 started! Wink

PoS is something that I think would be good for Particle though, so I will look into pursuing it.

Did you look at PROBE coin? It is also based on QUARK algorithm but is POW+POS.

Regarding automated checkpointing, I am happy if you switch it on. The network needs to become more stable even if it requires some centralization.

Don't worry guys. Look at the board on poloniex. The sell orders below 0.001 have already been divided by two compared to yesterday (6 BTC worth today while it was 12 BTC yesterday). It is the same story every week. People who missed the last buy up on Sunday sell low during the week. But when the end of the week is coming those sell orders disappear or get bought (I always buy as much as I can) and the buys go above 0.001 on poloniex before insanity sunday starts... It is a bit amplificated this week because the dev bought back less coins than usual last Sunday but we all benefited from it so I won't complain...

I am sure the story will repeat this week and pot will almost be full again on Sunday. Let's wait and see.

why would anyone buy into an iliquid position when there is no way out?

Right now there are 12 btc worth of sell orders below 0.001.

I wouldn't be too worried about that. Every week people sell their coins below 0.001 after the event. They stop on Friday/Saturday and on Sunday the pot is full almost every time...

Made approx 20% this week; not as much as previously but that's to be expected.

You must have missed the best part of the trading when the dev was making very fast swings. I made around 65% profit. I know some people made even more.

PS: Happy birthday Dev
