Bad news, everyone.

At the urging of my techie friend, he suggested that I first test the cards before sending them off.  Well, lo and behold, both are dead.  Unbelievable.  I don't know if it's just bad luck, or I did something to them when I took them out of the anti-static bags.  At any rate, they are no good to anyone, and as such, this thread is closed.  And newegg doesn't have any replacements in stock.  Looks like I'll just be sending these puppies back in for a refund.  Sorry to all who were inquiring... sorry to waste your time.  And yes, I do feel like a gigantic ass.

Here is the exact product that I bought:  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102878&cm_re=5830-_-14-102-878-_-Product

Now, I'm not sure I understand your PCI-E question.  Are you talking about extenders?  Power cables?  Or does the newegg listing/previous post answer your question?

Careful, kiddos.

To be fully informed:  these are pyramid schemes, and only the first few joiners will make a profit.  If you join in too late, you will actually be forfeiting your BTC.

Just a fair warning...

How about 5830s?  300 MH/s for $109 (retail).  They are currently out of stock, but I am selling a pair of brand new ones here:

My prices are significantly lower than other users who are selling their 5830s (especially since mine have never been used)

There's no way to tell they aren't artificially raising the price on you / extending an auction you would have otherwise won.

Absolutely.  In fact, I'd bet the farm that beezid is using bots to artifically increase the bid price.

Oh, and like the last poster mentioned, people do wait until the final moment to post, but with clock extensions, you can't snipe an item like you can on Ebay.  The extender is a critical piece to ensure more money.

I wonder what would possess people to believe they could actually come out on top there.

whoops, so there has been some confusion on my initial post about the BTC exchange rate.  To clarify, I set the value @ 14 USD / BTC, (which was the approximate value at time of post yesterday).

I dont see the draw for these...  2 5870's will give you the same/similar Mh for about 450 bucks

I'm thinking 6870's are the best buy at the moment. You can score them for $189 on sale and get ~300 Mhash/sec.

5830s retail for $109 (when they are in stock, which, they aren't right now) and can get easily get 280+ MH/s.  I'm actually selling a pair of brand new 5830s right now (never used, as I don't mine):

[CLOSED] Selling 2 *BRAND NEW* 5830s for Your BTC ($255 Free Shipping)
by

on 22/06/2011, 21:37:11 UTC
About Me:
I have been trading BTC for a month now and just recently decided to immerse myself in the community.  Last week, when I saw newegg get a new shipment of 5830s, I was lucky enough to nab 2 of them.  Now, I'm a trader only -- I don't mine.  I bought these specifically for re-sell.  I realize that I'm new to the community, and therefore, an unknown quantity, but I expect to be around for a while.  Therefore, I'm offering these 5830s at low price so I can build up my reputation and (hopefully) build up some goodwill around these parts.  If all goes well, I will continue to sell more items.

What You Are Getting:
I am offering 2 brand new 5830s.  I am selling them as a lot, so I won't split them out individually (this helps me with shipping costs). I received them last week from newegg.  Like I said, I'm not a miner, so these are completely brand new -- they have never been installed.  I opened the boxes to take pictures with my user name for verification purposes only.

What I Am Asking:
I want to sell these cards for bitcoins.  I will sell at the BTC market equivalent of $255 ($14/BTC, so 18.2142857 BTC) which includes free shipping.

Why So Low?
Like I said, I am new here, and I want to be a part of this community.  I plan to be around here for a long time.  I realize that I am newer and have not yet built up a reputation, so this is my chance to do so.

Here are the pictures:

Plenty of options for you, but first you need to decide what you are looking for in a pool.  Fee structure, community, service, reliability, etc, etc...

Use all of the free resources you can find:  social networking, forums, interest groups, etc..  I think twitter was a great suggestion; don't forget Craigslist -- I've seen some BTC action in my local listings.

Suggestion:  Also include provision for multi-GPU setups, given that wattage doesn't linearly increase with additional GPUs on a mobo.

l33, you may want to find some of the bitcoin calculators out there to determine your breakeven point.  you might be surprised, especially if you are building these systems from scratch.
