Great recommendations, thanks much Smiley
I'll have a better look later today, but I think I'll give the FileCenter DMS a shot since their offer seem most fairly priced. I have to say, if it works as smooth as explained on their site, we might stick with it for a good while. Being able to edit PDFs and automatically group them up by content is really something new for me and my team. So, let's see, let's see...

Anyone using document management software?
by

Hey all!

I'm dealing with lots of scanning and file organization at work (I'm also in charge of sending/clearing invoices), and things can get messy sometimes. We are using a rudimentary system of grouping the files that somewhat helps me keep everything in check, but I'm sure there's better software online. I'm looking for something that will automatically group PDFs by their content, and also allow me to edit them later on.

I should also specify that I'm not looking for a free app, I'll much rather pay a fair price to be able to reach customer support if something goes wrong.
So, has anyone got some hands-on experience?

Thanks!

There's probably nothing you can do fast that will improve your "rating" in your neighbors' eyes. It seems they've branded you as the odd one and probably enjoy mentioning your "case" in passing. The fact is, people are quick to judge and slow to understand. Even if much of the world's economy rests on the work-from-home model, most good samaritans refuse to acknowledge it. Still, though the model is far from perfect, it's a slam dunk for many types of businesses as to how much time and resources it saves.

I can relate to your case since I've been working from home for almost 2 years now. And yes, most of my neighbors (even the ones that don't work at all or live off of pension) act "surprised" when they see me in the yard during daylight. It's been months since I've lost all enthusiasm to explain what my position entails, so I'm mostly ending the conversation with "an online project". Let em pinball that thought as much as they want. Granted, I was like that in the past - I even avoided scanning qr codes that would've given me discounts since I didn't know how it worked at the time. Luckily, I've changed my views since and made it a point to be open about new experiences and knowledge as much as I can.

Putting yourself in a bucket together with several few "good ones" only cripples your growth as a person. Also, badmouthing your neighbor who has things figured out far more than you it's a clear sign that you've lost touch... Today more than ever, keeping your chin above the water requires being resourceful and a quick learner.

Kudos to you, my friend!

It seems more like a tale than an actual event to me... I guess it refers to how even the most respected community members will try to turn a profit at the first opportunity (the pastor taking the cash instead of the sugar). However, we should keep good karma on our side, since the wheel of fortune tends to turn, sometimes faster than usual (finding even more cash after being cheated mere hours before...)

Re: How do you save your money?
by

By reinvesting it. Saving money and storing it in low-interest (close to nonexistent interest) rates just makes you lose out on inflation.

The primary target to invest in for me is stocks. The second would be funneling a large portion of my saved-up money into a lock-in investment (2-6 months) that has high-interest rates (10-20%). A relatively new investment for me is investing in eCommerce stores that I find on Feedly that have international clients (essentially international e-commerce stores). I've invested in 2 so far and it's going decent.

I create automated templates for legal businesses. It's a pretty sweet gig. You just need to make sure the logic is in place and that all the zaps are firing correctly then you should be all good Smiley

Might not be a universal answer - but game!

There's just something therapeutic about playing solo RPG games like Diablo, God of War, Assassins Creed, etc. Anything immersive lets me forget about all the stress.

Good thing is if you want to mix stress relieving (i.e., gaming) with productivity, you can now. I've been playing crypto-earning games like Axie, Thetan, and an upcoming one called Wizardia (ngl, it looks pretty cool).

Honestly, anything that takes your mind off the work and stress (as long as its not anything like drugs lol) should be good enough.

Starting an e-commerce store is a perfect place, to begin with. All you really need is to find the right products (ideally something you're genuinely interested in) and then it all becomes about choosing the right platform. You can use really user-friendly sites like Shopify or even Squarespace to host your site with templates. You don't need anything fancy schmancy. You might need to hire a freelancer somewhere along the way–but ultimately its something you can completely do on your own.

Another way would be starting anything related to marketing (like a marketing or social media agency). If you can trace other people (even your own!) spending patterns and what actually entices you to purchase something, you can recreate the marketing process and sell your services online. There are tons of really good guides that you can use to learn the craft.

Making money online has been the new normal for the longest time Wink

I've recently tried giving play-to-earn games related to NFTs and crypto a try. One game in particular that I got hooked on is a crypto game called Wizardia. It's like any other RPG game with the chance to land limited edition NFTs. This isn't what I'd call a full-time way to earn money (I think?) but it's pretty fun to cash in some $$$ while playing during my leisure time.

Re: Shopping Online

Quite a few ways to save money online really. You can set an email notification system that will alert you when an item you're looking to buy suddenly gets a discount or goes on sale.

Another way would be to just ship in bulk. Instead of buying things one by one, you could just wait to order stuff online once you reach an x number of items to make the shipping fees worth it.

With tech-specific stuff–I love buying refurbished stuff. A good few hundred $$$ off a basically brand new and mint-quality.

One last thing is, I used to work with dropshipping suppliers–and that's one thing that helped me realize that a large bundle of products online are dropshipped. So, that's one thing that you can try and find out: see if you can find the original source of the stuff your purchasing online (if any).

Re: What Do you do in your free time?
by
crypt0m4nia
on 08/04/2022, 14:04:34 UTC
I have three versions of free time: short, medium, and long.

Short free time is like a gap in the day–like 2 hours of free time in-between work. I usually spend that time just scrolling through TikTok and IG reels or squeezing in one netflix episode of a show I'm obsessed with at that time.

Medium free time is like an entire day–usually I just sleep in.

Now, long free time (i.e., 2-7+ days) is where things get interesting. I have a literal bucket with random stuff I want to do. I usually write 60 random things and pop them in the bucket at the start of every year. It contains a litany of things–from chatting up a stranger in a coffee shop, to something as odd as visiting a manufacturing company to learn about forgery–the sky's the limit!

Not sure if this is just a break-up or someone had passed but a great way to forget or not miss someone is to change a habit.
I remember when my mother passed, my father rearranged our home, especially our dining and kitchen since that's where my mother always was. My dad bought new dining furniture, change the wallpaper, and basically had a full-on home improvement.

Remember, it's not easy to forget someone you care about, but there are a few things you can do to make it easier on yourself. This will help because it will change your regular routine and give you a different perspective. You can also try talking to friends and family about what you're going through - they may be able to offer some helpful advice. Hang in there - it'll get easier with time.

Re: How to earn money with Instagram?

The margin to be considered an "influencer" on IG is around 30,000. At that milestone–you'll probably get organic traction from brands for sponsored posts.

Another way to monetize it of course is by setting up your own business on the platform (i.e., an e-commerce store).

People are more likely to buy products on Instagram than on Facebook–this is why a large chunk of startups and SMEs are on the platform in the first place.
