On the Nets. It appears Russian oligarchs are laundering their money through their purchase of American basketball teams now hehehe. This is similar to other Russian and Chinese billionaires who buy ownership shares of European football teams.

In any case, I am not certain on why the Bucks are always one of the favorites every year.

The Bucks are the favourite/contender because of Giannis Antetokounmpo. He has been carrying the bucks to the playoffs year after year and he's only entered his prime (He just turned 26 last December). The Bucks is heavily investing to build a team around Giannis. I won't be surprised to see them in the finals any day now if Giannis continues to improve and perform.

I've always stuck with dollar-cost averaging method when dealing with high-growth or undervalued crypto and stocks. It's a pretty stress free approach for people who don't have enough time to manage their investments.

I have become wary of the Great Rotation for 2021. If you don't know what it is, look it up, it's good-to-know for any investors of all kinds.

Re: Michael Saylor Told Elon Musk That He Bought Over $ 1.3 Billion In Bitcoin
by
cryptofiend01
on 23/12/2020, 06:06:49 UTC
Elon is supposedly a bitcoin enthusiast but his recent comment about bitcoin being almost as bad as fiat is disturbing. Has he changed his mind about bitcoin?

Elon Musk is not afraid to speak his mind through Twitter. In May, he tweeted that TSLA stock price being too high - he meant it, despite the fact that the statement will depreciate the stock price (temporarily). In July, he sold short shorts on the Tesla merch shop for $69.420 to mock TSLA short sellers. In early December, he wrote a memo to his Tesla employees to remind them to be conscious about budgeting, because Tesla is not profitable enough just yet to justify for their current stock price. Recently, he joked on twitter that Bitcoin is his safe word, said that bitcoin is as bs as fiat and made a comment about doge (coin). To be very honest, he is just speaking his mind, bitcoin enthusiast or not, the price action has been erratic just like his own company's stock price, his comments are simply reflecting what he believes is true - the man is living life - in the end he means everything he says and he means well.

Re: Cash out or HODL - Bitcoin?
by

on 23/12/2020, 05:45:53 UTC
It all depends on your risk tolerance - what is your stop-loss and take-profit based on your purchase price(s). This should help you decide when to HODL and when to buy beer with your BTC. This is important for anyone who have invested to learn especially when BTC price has exceed ATH by a large margin, technique analysis and fundamental analysis (fundamental analysis doesn't have to only base off of financial statements Wink) utilised by the mass is what's going to drive mass adoption. At which point, the price will be in equilibrium and volatility will become stable (stabler).

Any idea why Celsius Network (CEL) had seen steady growth in the past 7 month?
by
cryptofiend01
on 23/12/2020, 05:34:14 UTC
I registered at Celsius for their deposit bonus (I think it was over $120 worth of BTC) just over a year ago, at the time CEL price was still low, though, steady. The bonus wasn't enough to entice me to have interests paid in CEL. Instead I opted in for other platforms that paid interest in whatever coin I deposited.

Without paying much attention to CEL in the past year or so, I noticed CEL price is racing to the moon. I have read that the DeFi boom and BTC strength are, in part, responsible for this but what are some other reasons that could've fuel this 6 month bull run? Did the company announce anything eye catching? Are they doing something differently? Very interested to learn more.

Re: Best Ad Network for Crypto Site
by
cryptofiend01
on 23/12/2020, 05:21:18 UTC
I've been running a crypto blog for a couple of years now and have started to look into ways to monetize it.

I've tried few options, such as referral campaigns for specific sites, but but none have been very successful. Also, it doesn't have a high enough Alexa rank to qualify for sites like MellowAds (top 100,000).

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

In my experience in using these networks as an advertiser, these networks can be categorised into 3 categories - 1. facets, 2. mainstream crypto, 3. irrelevant.

1. Facet networks are mostly for advertisers to fish for the audience that is always out looking for an extra buck.
2. Mainstream crypto networks have good Alexa rank sites on them, but each to their own, they all have some bad seeds in them.
3. Irrelevant networks are ones that gather any crypto sites, just for the sake of monetisation.

In the case of your blog, depending on the content, you may want to avoid categories 1 and 3 - and Stick to mainstream networks like Coinzilla or Bitmedia.

But as @examplens said, the key to becoming a profitable ad publisher is good SEO position, thats because SEO helps google recognise and rank your website through key words and in turn, it will bring relevant search audiences to your site (this is only one aspect of SEO!). In the advertiser perspective, this is their main consideration - the audience segment.

Hope this helps!

Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2020 US Presidential Election | Trump vs Biden
by

on 23/12/2020, 03:55:15 UTC
Just out of curiosity, are there still gambling sites that didn't settle the bet even there is a clear winner already? Fiat and crypto-gambling site?
Post-election investigations should not be included as a factor in these bets.
Or they are just waiting until Biden officially assumes office next month, January 2021?
I guess known or popular gambling or betting sites might already give reward to those who bet for Biden since it's obvious and voting seems really in favor in him, those sites should already received many questions form their bettors that's why they already give the rewards, however we're not sure in some gambling sites which are not yet popular if what their excuse in not paying yet.

I see, thank you mate. So it's a real thing that other sport betting sites don't settle the bet yet.

What's their excuse? And can't believe other bettors chose a not popular site and entrust their funds there for long?

Hoping we can have the names of those sites involved. A bit unprofessional to me if that's their approach to their customers. Next time, terms should be much clearer and organized in case the same scenario that happened last US Presidential election or any event will happen again in the future.

Glad I went with Cloudbet on this run, I couldn't resist betting on this year's presidential election because I just knew it was going to be action packed. Low key happy the fund came through while Bitcoin is up, if it had come any earlier I would've sold winnings between 18-20k - No Cap.  Grin

Re: Cash out or HODL - Bitcoin?
by

Here we are again at crossroads to choose whether to cashout bitcoin which we have or else Hodl for some more time? This week is undoubtedly most complicated week of the year for bitcoin users because history has not been so kind to bitcoin towards the end of year's post bullruns. If Bitcoin has already achieved its ATH for the season then it's better to cashout but if Bitcoin is going to surge further then HODling is sensible but how do you figure out as we cannot depend of predictions since it fails most of the time. What's your opinion?

It depends on you and your analysis, one of the hardest part of being an investor or a trader is deciding when to cash-out or double down. There are times when an asset has outperformed or underperformed your expectations, whilst professionals have a strategy to handle these situations, your job is to evaluate your stop-loss or take-profit.

Regarding the current Biden/Trump situation, I would bet on Trump because the chances for either of them winning are closer to 50/50, while the outcome odds for Trump are above 2.0 everywhere.
50/50? Why do you think that?
The first election was very tight and he disappointed many of his voters during its mandate.

Gotta side with @Saint-loup here, latest polls from FiveThirtyEight are pointing to a Biden Win @+8.5. Majority of the swing states are in Blue right now.

by

What would Square do with 50mil worth of Bitcoin? What are they working on or planning to do?

Square is provides financial services - they're a merchant services aggregator, and mobile payment company. From what I've gathered they are anticipating Bitcoin adoption. $50Mil represents only about 1% of the company, but it will go a long way if square plans to support crypto payments and blockchain transactions.

Re: People Say btc is Not ponzi but its look like ponzi

How anyone who Say Can proof Bitcoin is not ponzi?

There is More proof and evidence that it is ponzi.

I Don't mind If its ponzi but i Don't want to exit too late but not too early so When is best time to exit?

How can bitcoin be ponzi? LOL! Grin
It has a limited supply of coins, and no one promises to make any profit... Here are all the new DeFi projects that can be classified as ponzi, but not as bitcoin!

@3meek I would agree with you if Bitcoin was centralised. This being said, bitcoin being decentralised - according to on chain analytics, only 10 percent of BTC is owned by 40 addresses.

BTC has grown to a point where the price is largely determined by public - hard to be a ponzi scheme when thats the case.

Re: 2020 NBA Season
by
cryptofiend01
on 08/10/2020, 03:51:11 UTC
It is very odd that people do not find any interest in this final series.
The broadcasting ratings are very low... What can be the reason for that?
I guess everybody is looking for something to fill their hungry stomachs due to the pandemic crisis rather than watching the finals of the NBA. It's also likely that people are not interested whenever the series is at the middle of it, just like the indicated game which is game 3.
But you can count on it whenever it goes to the last game or crowning game which is likely the next game, ratings will be up.

As a long time NBA fan I've found myself resorted to watching full game highlights on youtube instead of sitting through games.
Seeing a crowd even through TV certainly makes watching the games live more engaging and thrilling.. On top of that, the season was interrupted and things just don't feel.. ordinary.

According to the BBC news, this was the latest update yesterday.
https://i.imgur.com/19DjPfX.png

This is an exciting bet. I would regret not participating in this. You know how Trump plays the game by being unpredictable and that makes
this bet really exciting and confusing. The odds for Biden is actually something to consider, for now, he got the highest odds and got a lot of votes based on the survey. But then, we will still be waiting for the analysis so we can see how would this bet work!
Which survey is it?

I agree with you that this is an exciting bet if you will going to make this a way of having excitement during the election process. Anyway, the best thing to do here is to make a platform or betting thread for this one and we will going to see which really between the two running candidates has the higher odds.

My bet will goes to Trump. My opinion is very simple and that is because Trump is an Incumbent official and has higher connections that he can use with his current positions.

I found the article @ReiMomo is referring to, it was published by BBC on Oct 4th - after Trump's cornonavirus diagnosis. link.

these are few articles that will help you decide which countries will be good for you as a miner

dont consider the energy cost alone but there are other factors to watch out for like govt laws and regulations when it comes to crypto like the taxes involved.
so based from these articles, seems canada, iceland, venezuela or georgia are countries that you can explore your mining activities

from redherring article-  https://www.redherring.com/top-story/the-top-three-countries-for-bitcoin-miners/
Iceland
Venezuela
Georgia

iceland
estonia
canada
venezuela

fom nomad - https://nomadcapitalist.com/2019/09/27/best-countries-for-crypto-mining/

if you cant go to these countries, why not invest in solar panels or wind turbines. expensive at first but you will get the roi and the rest of your mining days will be free

wow I wasn't expecting such a comprehensive response. Thank you!

I actually forgot to consider tax and regulation. Should probably look into that before jumping into it.

Cheers mate

Which country is the most cost efficient to mine crypto?

With mining rewards shrinking amongst the crypto scene.. I wonder which country is the most cost efficient to mine crypto..

Between energy costs, sourcing components and building mining rig(s), temperature regulation, and storage space etc.. Which country do you think has the best potential?
