I have an older version of the wallet (version 4. something).

when i upgrade , do i need to back up anything?

i currently have some coins on leaf pool which points ot a receiving address. Will i keep the same receiving address when i update my wallet to v5?

GMiner v2.11 available for download

v2.11
+ support BeamHashIII algorithm for Nvidia GPUs (for auto-switching use algo --beamhash)
+ improved Cuckatoo32 performance (up to 5%-8% dependent on GPU)
+ lowered fee for Cuckatoo32 algorithm to 2%

I updated to this version and am getting 25.7 sol using 1080TI (75% TDP, +175 Core, +700Mem)

is this normal? i was mining before with version 1.65 and getting around 50 sol.

I am mining BEAM on leaf pool.

I am mining it to a receiving address I set to never expire on a wallet in my harddrive #1.

I installed a new harddrive #2 and installed the BEAM wallet. How do I transfer the old receiving address to my new wallet? is it possible?

nevermind I figured it out. I had to copy the wallet.db from drive #1 to drive #2

i think figured it out. seems i had to go to Nvidia control panel and change settings to "Maximum performance" instead of "Optimal Power". now the Watt reading is correct.

also my mining rig which is on wifi was too far away from router= i moved it closer and ping is around 80ms now consistently and no connection errors.

getting expected hashs now. seems consistent to whattomine estimates. i am getting ~95sol combined.

1070ti 75%/+250core/+500mem = ~42sol
1080ti 75%/+190core/+700mem = ~53sol

i am happy now

what does it mean when i get a lot of connection timed out/write timed out? and the share accepted ms speed are very high like over 5000?

anyway bumped up 1080ti to 70%/+175core/+0 mem = 49.7sol/s
1070ti 70%/+250/+0 = 40.1sol/s

and the 1080ti watt reading is now 175 as oppsed to 150 before. is this a Gminer bug that it gives false Watt readings occasionally?

why does miner say my  1080ti power which is set at 70%tdp is 150W? it should be 250W*.7 = 175W

hey what are best core/mem/tdp settings for 1080ti and 1070ti for mining BEAM using Gminer?

Fully depends on you and your cards, no one can tell you this without more informations.

Mining beam, and so far ive tried a wide variety of settings from 70 -100 tdp, 0-200 core / 0-700 mem. it doesnt seem to change my sols much. the 1070ti gets from 37-40. the 1080ti range very is little as well 44-46. Both EVGA black editions. ive used these cards to mine ZCL on various miners and i can see the noticable variances when overclock settings;, so i know these cards can be OC'd.

seems +mem up to 700 doesnt even do anything. i expected tdp of 100% to give  a nice boost over 70%, but nope - very little change as well. core did the most to boost - about 1-2  extra sol.

1070ti: 70%/+200core/+0mem = 40sol/s (this seems about right from what others are getting )

1080ti: 70%/+100 core/+0mem = 45sol/s (this seems a little low - i was expecting closer to 50)

is there somehting im missing? Do i need to change bios settings? change NVIDIA graphics settings?

Re: mining GPU not active

no i wasnt mining when it shuts off - idle or not it still shut off. the risers are powerby 6 pin cable to PSU.

anway i did a fresh OS install and knock on wood, it seems to be working now - i have had the risered gpu detected and powered for over an hour now.

what i did different this time : disabled win10 updates after install and did not install any mobo software.also i let windows install all device drivers. so my guess is either win10 updates or the mobo AMD all-in-1 drivers caused the issue.

i did install the latest nvidia 436.30 driver. at first it didnt appear like the risered gpu was being detected, after reboot and reinstall again it finally detected. i guess windows was doing something in the background and finally detected it.

yep i swapped usb cords as well. tried the other 4 different pci-e slots . THe risers were not used for a year - would that cause risers to go bad? all hardware was working and mining before for 6 months straight with no issues. The GPU's definately work as i plug them directly into the mobo pci-e 3x16 slot. the difference is i installed a new ssd and fresh windows 10 pro install. the GPU is detected in device manager, afterburner, GPU-Z, HW monitor. the weird thing is sometimes it appears fine, but 15 mins or 30 mins later (there doesnt appear to be any pattern as to when it turns off) its liek the GPU goes into sleep mode - 0% TDP, 0C temp, afterburner settings grayed out and unadjustable. so i am suspecting windows 10 pro or perhaps a bios setting. i may do a fresh install again to see if that fixes it.

mobo is asrock ab350 fatal1ty

Try another ssd it could be bad.

SSD could be bad even if i was able to install windows on the ssd?

mining GPU not active

I have a 1080ti on riser . not mining anything yet, just booted up and after a few mins, sometimes 20-30 mins, the GPU temperature drops to zero and settings are grayed out on MSI afterburner - like it is detected, but somehow it's off. I swapped out with a different GPU (1070ti) and different risers and it does the same. this is on a fresh install of windows pro 10 build 1903. Geforce drivers 436.30 which is the latest. i uninstalled and installed drivers multiple times.

what could be causing the issue?

Sorry but your gonna have to put in some legwork.
Here is a good site for checking out coin profitability based on your hardware. https://whattomine.com/ Punch in your cards and review the list.

On top of that visit the Altcoin Mining section. This is where you will find likeminded miners and previous threads covering some of your questions. IT's been a while for pools, but I did use this one when a while ago for profit switching and payout coin selection. https://miningpoolhub.com

You can also find this Pools child board at the top of the Altcoin mining section.

yea its been a while since i used miningpoolhub (spring 2018)...it looks like they havent kept up to date with the latest coins and thus dont have the most profitable coins. Zergpool seems to be a popular one currently and they have auto exchange  to LTC.

which algo/coin combination in which pool (and which miner software) is currently most profitable for 1080ti and 1070ti? i also want to pick a pool that has ability to auto exchange to LTC.

what power/core/mem settings should i set for 1080ti and 1070ti. and what hash rates should i be getting for the algo?

its been about a year since i last mined; was doing equihash for Zclassic last on miningpoolhub. i know im not going to make anything after electric costs, just want to do to keep up with whats happening in the crypto mining world. Just wondering what algo and coins are best for 1080ti mining? and which miner, what pools, and exchanges should i use?
