So... another scam?

Just no updates recently. No payments were made for the past 2 months, either (last was like the end of December).

No updates from management + no payments = highly suspicious...
You haven't taken into consideration the drop in btc price vs the maintainaince cost.
Not to mention James health.

I hope he's doing well and I'm sure he'll update when he can.

all this investing makes me wonder - will there ever be a BTC ROI for mining,
I bought shares in this GB when bitcoin was over 1000$ and still it does not seem that there will be any BTC ROI.

Why not keep what I have or buy BTC while its cheap?

I will be posting a link to a Coinbase payment option soon, but I think we should open a separate thread for Counterparty and SWMCHEX questions, announcements, information and issues.
1. please post a link to that thread
2. do i just open a counterparty wallet, add funds, go to Exchange/Market, select SWMCHEX and buy the shares?!
3. Does counterparty have a 2 step verification? how do i enable it?

thank you!

They stopped replying to me again, I thought I posted that here.

Last I heard from others with mid October refund dates was that the date got pushed back due to their facility not being ready or something. It would help if they replied to my emails.
Thank you for the update.
Hope to hear better news soon.

They replied to me saying that the refund would be processed in October or we could get the units shipped with compensation.

Hi thomas_s
As you may have noticed October is here.

I myself would appreciate a refund.

Please let everybody in the thread know how do we proceed?!

Thank you for all of the effort put in the GB.

Regard,
Dave

as we were told this will be refunded,
I'm going to keep trying until:

1. I get my money back
or
2. someone steps up from the group owners and declares that no refunds will be issued.

I had mostly good dealings with the DZ group so I'm sure that one of the above will happen and they will not vanish into thin air.

For R17,

Every share of R17 can be converted to 2 Bare Minion Chips. Technobit has a 4 chip board design that has been tested. If anyone wishes to take the chips for their shares  (we will be able to start shipping chips on Wednesday) people who request bare chips that are within the US will have free 2nd day air shipping to them.

We will also be shipping chips to technobit as a bulk order for discounted assembly services if you would like to do this we can add your chips to these shipments.

PSU's for the first shipment of X3's has been sent to minersource, some R17 machines are part of the first order / shipment that will be received.
Hi,

What happens to ppl in the GB that don't want chips?
When does theGB start hashing?

Thanks Dave

The WPC is still active, the latest board to be produced is the Spondoolies Whiteface mining board. This is a test mining board for the Allied Control Cooling Container project. All current boards are proof of concept tests, currently the only chips being used are ones that will not reach ROI.

SWMC is planning on offering preorders for hashing power based on the SWMC Hashing Exchange that is currently being tested internally. When I do offer the GH/s to early adopters, there will be an ROI+ guarantee and some nice bonus included, but again, that is for early adopters only. I wanted to offer a beta version of the Hashing Exchange before I offered any preorders, but we may not be able to wait that long. Many of the big mining companies out there are buying up chips long before the average individual even knows the chips will be available. That makes it nearly impossible to get enough chips that will afford us an ROI by the time those chips are released.

All of the big mining companies (including ASIC hardware manufacturers) are moving to a cloud mining platform. It wont be too many months from now and you wont be able to purchase personal miningware at all, simply because it will cost to much to keep up (if we aren't already there and just haven't decided to accept it yet,) or there won't be anyone who wants to sell miningware to you. It is soon to become an only big players league when it comes to Bitcoin mining.

That's why I am building the SWMC Hashing Exchange, so we can still be in the game and be just as profitable...

To make this work, SWMC will need to raise some serious capital. So the plan is to offer an initial total hashing power of 2-4 PH/s at somewhere around 85¢ a GH/s with an ROI+ guarantee for early adopters. We are currently in negotiations with Allied Control as part of the development of our data center which will be utilizing immersion cooling methods like that which is provided by Allied Control. We are also working on getting access to 5.5¢ kWh electricity. I have dual US/British citizenship, so I am considering basing part of SWMC in The Isle of Man which is a Bitcoin friendly country. It may not look like much is happening with SWMC on your end, but there is a lot of activity on mine.

Just to measure your interest, what price point for hashing power would motivate you to preorder hashing power with an ROI+ guarantee from The SWMC Hashing Exchange with the understanding that the exchange is in the development stage and that hashing power may not go live for several months? After sufficient hashing power is being circulated on the exchange, SWMC will never offer preorders again.
A few toughts:

1. I would suggest posting this in the SWMC thread and not this GB.

2. I think it is irresponsible offering "ROI+ guarantee", as mining hardware cost & future difficulty is unknown/speculative.

3. this said I would be interested in investing a few hundred dollars in this venture,
as for the price point, as you are most invested in this project you should price it as you see fit in relation to hardware price, managing costs & initial capital you have to invest.
selling with a loss will bury the project as you wont be able to maintain it.

I vote to get any machine that will start hashing first.
This is a race - the ones who start hashing first win.

I prefer mining bitcoin,
but if they have these TITANS on hand then get them.

Re: Bitcoin Keychains, custom-engraved with QR codes

A CNC machine is used to drill out the holes, and I'm unsure of the exact type of paint they used (curious, davideak, if you have a reason for asking).
I'm a mechanical engineer so I'm familiar with manufacturing processes,
If this is done by CNC then the pricing would be high due to:

* engineering time to program each individual QR code from 2D to 3D

* set up time for the machine (as its probably not a dedicated one)

* Machine work time (would probably require a small diameter milling head & a longer time to cut due to the slow speed so the tool won't break)

(and this does not take into account the painting - although I would assume the QR area would be pre-painted with the BTC sign in the front and the CNC process would take care of the contrast after cutting the base of the key-chain, requiring only cleaning after the CNC process is complete)

All in all - this does not seem as a cheap process could easily cost as much as 50$ a piece (in contrast to the generic keychain which probably had the high initial cost of the mold)

Another thought:
I was looking at some new 3D desktop printers (Example) for my workplace,
With one of these you would be able to low cost print these keychains from a durable ABS plastic.
The machine can have up to 2 different colors - so the QR code can be printed in a different color than the base & give a readable cheap Key chain that would easily be sold for around 15$ - they might not last as much as the metal ones or have a good a finish but they would do the job (I would buy one anyway).

Anyway - I'm keeping my eyes open on this post - hope you are able to produce these in a reasonable consumer price.

WATCH!!

been waiting for this  Grin

I see your using the basic keychain mold & indevidualy engraving them,
what kind of process are you using (etching/machining)? and what kind of paint?

as for your question, seeing that the basic model costs around 10$
if you accumulate a minimum of 50~100 orders/pcs you could lower costs and sell it for around 20$ (after all it is a key-chain)

hope this is available soon, & that you will be able to ship worldwide!

It won't, I don't get paid to be a part of the coop and it has actually cost me a lot of time and money, lashing out against me = me no longer caring. I'll continue working on getting the refund but my speed will not be as fast.

sry - I meant to say:
I do not believe that lashing out will get the desired outcome.

no hurt intended

Bitmine didn't take the money, you guys did the buck stops there. I'm assuming that's what a court of law would say, perhaps that's the next step that needs to be taken since DZ flew the coup.
Although the lack of progress & response from Bitmine
I still have confidence in the coop.

I do not believe that lashing out will get the desired outcome.

bobsag3 - please keep trying to get a response from Bitmine
& let us know if there is any progress.
