Powerball Jackpot
by
deathsythe
on 28/11/2012, 02:45:15 UTC
I'm buying 100 tickets tonight (picked at random from the machines at my local gas station). The powerball is going for over $500B right now.

If I win - I pledge to evenly distribute the capital among anyone who buys into the pool.

Shares can be purchased by sending  http://btcticker.appspot.com/mtgox/1usd.png ($1) to 1Apy1m7CYhje15SQNQ798n6nentEbUWh4s

I'm not going to split it more than 100 ways though, and each ticket only covers 1% of the winnings (fair is fair).

All those interested please PM me in addition to sending your payment for your share. I am going to return and post a photo or two of the tickets after I grab them.

3D CAD Design work for BTC (Freelance)
by

It could be simple - it could be complex.

I've got literally 10s of thousands of hours in 3D CAD design under my belt. Have a BE and ME degree in mechanical engineering (of which I taught SolidWorks for 4 semesters) I'm proficient in DS SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, and CATIA. I am competent in the principles of good GD&T, and can provide drawings, STEP files, STL files, or whatever output you would like for your project.

I can't really go into too much detail about recent projects because of NDAs and work related things (though I'll try to crop out some stuff), but I do have some work from school that I can share for an example.

So if you have anything you want/need designed (be it for school, work, or hobby) drop me a line and we can work something out I'm sure.

You can then take my designs to use with ponko, makerbot, or a machinist to have them fabricated (if you need help with this step I can act as an intermediary/liaison to whatever design house you want, or give you the STL/IGS files so you can take care of it yourself)

Looking forward to working with any of you.

It isn't exactly a hobby. I am just getting funding to get off the ground so that I can start offering my services to give back to the community.

3D Printing and BTC go hand in hand.

Not exactly a "loan" per se, but I couldn't think of anywhere else to put this.

Just a little background.

5.5 years academic engineering background BE/ME in Mechanical Engineering.

~10 years work experience in both design and manufacturing environments.

Extremely proficient in 3D CAD (was an Adjunct Professor in DS SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor related courses)

That in mind - I am looking to convert my workroom into a small shop where I can do little engineering projects, build small items/devices, and ultimately give it back to the community.

I've used all sorts of 3D printers in the past, from Stratasys' big FORTUS FDM machines, to a simple little Makerbot, and have always been intrigued by the idea of additive manufacturing.

I have a bit of a nerd boner for the RepRap project - and I may or may not have a published paper or two on the matter when I was in grad school. So naturally I am looking there first before examining any of the commercial printers.

http://printrbot.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/IMG_1089.jpg

I have had my heart set on a PrintrBot since its original kickstarter. Alas I did not have the funding available at the time to contribute enough to purchase one for myself but now that I am involved in Bit Coin, perhaps the community can assist me in this. (The other alternative is an Ultimakr, but that is far too expensive for this sort of project methinks)

Ideally I would like to be able to get myself a PrintrBot, and a PrintrBot LC. I already have a few dremels, a big bridgeport drill press, your basic rotary saws and various other tools.

I've spent the entire summer cleaning out my basement in preparation to turn it into a shop. I will then use the power of the internet, and the beauty of bitcoins to design and print items for anyone, anywhere, at any time.

Now this is where you guys come in.

I want to operate this in the same manner in which Kickerstarter works (mods - if this is an issue, please move to the appropriate location or close at your discretion)

I am going to need about 60 BTC to get this project off the ground.

Depending on what you can contribute - I will give you various rewards in return.

All backers will have their name (handle or username I guess if you want to remain anonymous) posted on the wall of my shop for any/all to see!

Pledge .25 BTC and you will receive a personalized thank you email from me.

Pledge .50 BTC and you will receive a written personalized thank you from me scanned and emailed.

Pledge .75 BTC and you will receive a written personalized thank you from me via good old fashioned letter/post (Anywhere in the world) and a copper wheat penney

Pledge 1 BTC and you will receive a personalized 3D printed/lasercut keychain with your username (or anything else you desire within a reasonable amount of characters) along with a personalized letter from me (anywhere in the world)

Pledge 1.50 BTC and you will receive a pre-65 US silver coin along with a personalized letter from me (anywhere in the world)

Pledge 5 BTC or more and you will receive a custom 3D printed geeky figurine of your choice (Dalek, Yoda, d20, Tux penguin, etc...)

Pledge 10 BTC or more and you will receive a custom 3D printed chess set designed by yours truly.

Please accompany all funds with a PM here noting where they came from and what you would like in return. Donations can be sent here: 1cmLgJNLQiHfkK4A657eU2dvexATjS9yu

If you wish to just make an anonymous donation (and Cthulhu bless you for doing so) you can send it here: 1Apy1m7CYhje15SQNQ798n6nentEbUWh4s

I don't know how charitable this community is compared to other's around the internet, but I figured this would be the best place to ask.

Thanks in advance.

You probably need to figure out what the best test game is. Diablo III might be one since it has a very active Auction House and I've seen it mentioned multiple times here on the forum. I can help out since I play it myself.

+1 to this idea.

[WTS] Transcend MicroSD cards
by

on 14/09/2012, 00:50:40 UTC
I have 3 Transcend Micro SD cards with an SD card adapter that I'm looking to get rid of. I wanted them to use with my DS, but my DS doesn't handle SDHC well, and they are useless to me now.

Up for grabs is:

NIB - Class 4 4GB
NNoB - Class 10 4GB
NNoB - Class 4 8GB

Free shipping to continental US.

.5 BTC Each.

PM me if you are interested. Wink

Personally- if I have plausible deniability and legitimately have no idea where the money is coming from  and have no contact with the "business" or "clients" then I'd entertain it.

I've noticed a lot of times on roulette I have to click several times before it registers my click. It happens a lot when the bet/double button lines up over another number or between two numbers. I need to move my mouse a little bit and click again, even though I was already on the button. /shrug/

That sounds bad! I am not able to replicate this issue though. Could you help me out and elaborate a little more? Which buttons require clicking multiple times - the big buttons at the bottom of the table (eg, "Spin", "Repeat Last", etc.), or is it the roulette board itself that sometimes requires multiple clicks. Also, what browser are you using? Finally, if possible, could you post a screenshot of: "It happens a lot when the bet/double button lines up over another number or between two numbers". I'm not sure exactly what you mean here, and a screenshot would help a lot. Thanks!

Also, what's your username on bitZino? I'll comp you as well for helping me out Cheesy

Same as here, and as reddit. Tongue Thanks bud.

http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/6285/bitzino.png
(imgur is giving me crap right now for some reason...)

So sometimes when I am doubling my bet on the x2 button and I click outside the red box it doesn't take for some reason.

I've actually never really used the big buttons on the bottom except for spin.

Also - you see how the top part of the "x2" button lines up with the 16. If I am doubling my bet sometimes it will select 16 (or 10 if I'm betting red)

BTC Mafia Game!
by
deathsythe
on 12/09/2012, 05:43:29 UTC
If you've been online at any point since 1990 you should be familiar with the mafia game.

The mafia game consists of two classes - townsfolk and mafioso. (or villages and vampire/warewolf, agents and spies yada yada)

At the end of each day the mafioso kill one of the townsfolk. Players try to figure out who the mafioso are, vote each day and kill one the other players.

The game ends when either all the villagers are dead, or the villagers successfully kill all the mafioso.

One player is the detective, and can PM the narrator (me in this case) daily to inquire as to whether or not another player is mafia or not. The detective's role will not be divulged.

I figure we can ante up on both sides, and once we have enough confirmed players - we will begin rounds.

If the villagers win - every villager player gets an equal portion of the winnings.

If the mafia wins - the mafia players get equal portions of the winnings.

I may keep a small organizer/DM fee as charity for running and thinking up witty and clever ways to kill off players, I might not. This will depend on how interested folks are.

I'm thinking we do round 1 with 8 townsfolk and 2 mafia, for a total of 10 players - should keep the math pretty simple.

Mafia and townsfolk will be chosen at random, as will the detective.

Let's say ante would be .05 BTC

Payout would be .0625* per villager in the event of a villager victory. (as there are more of them and they have better odds)
Payout would be .25* per mafia in the event of a mafia victory.

* (assuming I decide not to keep any for myself for the trouble of running and organizing)

Thoughts?
