For those of you at all interested, whilst my website is in the process of creation I'm also going to be working on another small project: Creating a GUI for ADB and Fastboot (as well as a few other tools). If you don't know what these are, take a look at the forum over at xda-developers. They are both tools for accessing the filesystems of rooted android phones, and for performing other tasks such as flashing basebands and recovery utilities. They are both used via the command line/terminal, and can be occasionally tricky to use. I plan to create an application that allows the input and output to be much simpler and clearer, hopefully helping to mitigate mistakes that can have consequences as serious as rendering a handset unusable.

As for getting some examples up, I'm working on a proper portfolio website. It'll have some example programs, and a web app that I'm particularly proud of. I just need to work on making sure there are no compatibility problems, since I'll have to migrate a small SQL database to a mySQLite one. This should be ready soon, I'm just trying to work out how to build a "repository" of sorts and some other small design decisions.

In a way, I agree with you. The source is fairly close to the actual forum URL though, and for a second I was slightly thrown. Also, the identifiers used appear to be real, so I imagine that they use the identifier to gain your wallet ID.

I urge anyone in receipt of emails similar to the below to do nothing with their content. If you use an email service such as Hotmail, I advise you to report them as phishing spam (pictured also).

The attachment contains what appears to be a linux based selection of files. I have not attempted to open them.

You're right, which is why I'm hoping to partner with Branny (Rentalstarter.com) and a few guys over here in the UK who know what they're doing.

I'm doing a lot of research into this, but I don't think bitstarter is going to be a viable option.

The property market here in the UK seems to be doing fairly well. A lot of people are buying up property at auction, doing it up and selling it on for a profit.

If I were you I would find a cheap router somewhere. Find one that you can install DD-WRT on, as it gives you a larger range of configuration options.

Um... Not really, I've not really posted too much here. The only thing I've done is sort out a youtube account with the restrictions removed for some guy in some oppressed country somewhere, a task for which I got 0.33 btc (or about £18). I'm not really famous anywhere on the internet, but Luke-Jr has access to another forum where I'm fairly well respected. Not sure how long it's been since he worked on that project though.

I used an IBAN code alongside a swift code and something else, with all the correct details, and the transaction showed as processed over a month ago. My bank tell me that there are no incoming or refused transactions, and the money no longer appears in my bitstamp account.

Upon contacting bitstamp, they tell me that the deposit is confirmed, and that there are no surrounding issues.

BitStamp, you owe me just under twenty English pounds.

My aim is to build an exchange that is more focused on what the customer wants, as opposed to making a profit. I'm aware that that is the general aim anyway, but I think more focus on CS is necessary in this environment.


I can do the GUI and backend no problem. I have a working knowlege of law in my country, and as far as PR goes, I'm just going to be brutally honest with people. I have no qualms about telling people if I have a problem, I'd rather my customers be able to make a correctly informed choice.



You're right. That is a good idea, but in practice it would have to allow for small deviations in the correct stock prices, since the blockchains all seem to update at different times. It's workable though.

Yup. The very least a service proprietor can do is listen to and respond to those complaints. A lot of these exchanges don't seem to do so.

I have two domains available to me, so it only makes sense to use one for trading. First of all, I'd like to gain some insight from people here about what they specifically want from a trading/banking site, and what precautions I should take against attacks. I'd like to have some sort of two stage security, whether it's worth it is another question entirely.

So:
What services should a new trader offer?
What banking services should be available in conjunction?
Is the likes of cloudflare a good idea?
What is an acceptable charging threshold? (I'm out to make a profit, as dirty as it sounds.)
