Tongue

It was a decent party that you wouldn't tell apart from other ones once you've mined your ticket and entered for free.

The rpg part (or rather rgp as the organizers call it - role game play) was indeed not implemented by anyone. But as i wrote in the previous it was a nice excuse for the organizers to encourage you to go through a good reading list. An example of an article that i liked: https://www.e-flux.com/journal/76/69732/if-you-don-t-have-bread-eat-art-contemporary-art-and-derivative-fascisms/

It seems that people try to go somewhere solid with networks like this one, let's see.

Cryptorave coming up
by

So, this Saturday I'm supposed to go to a "cryptorave", run by the "Omsk social club".
https://www.facebook.com/omsksocialclub/

I don't expect anything extreme since it's organized in the larger framework of a mainstream event addressed (also) to muggles, but still one has to mine his/her way to the party (through monero), and embody a predetermined persona rpg-style.

Has anybody been to any of these guys' parties already? What I mainly wonder about at the moment is how seriously I should take the rpg part. I'm all for it but I wouldn't like to be the only one taking it seriously in the room :p

Other than that it's a decent idea and the rpg looks like an excuse for going through some good crypto bibliography that you get along with your ticket.

probably everything Andreas Antonopoulos has is worth watching and is only thing worth watching on Youtube. https://antonopoulos.com/

apart from that it depends on what level of knowledge you want to gain.

Hey, thanks, and to the others as well.

Personally I meant it as "where do you go for news and commentary on news".

Bumping up. I'm more the reading type so I'd appreciate some recommendations beyond what our friend Google will pop up in the first pages.

When I read the topic line I thought that meant "violence by the state".
And my answer immediately was "because it doesn't produce and sell a shitload of oil?"

I don't get what you're all on about the new miners will replace the others, the amount of electric will remain the same as the hash rate goes up but form factor and machine wattage is the same. Difficulty will adjust and the only difference is the old hardware will be antiquated and be forced to move to some random altcoins or retired.

A sensible comment...

I don't have much interest in this topic so I can't offer any direction. But if you start by googling or looking at wikipedia for Trismegistus or gnostics, then you can find keywords. With the keywords you can maybe ask again a question that will attract more attention from the relevant people.

It's not clear what you talk about studying.

From "hermetic" and "spiritual" I guess you talk about Hermes Trismegistus'work and other "esoteric" western philosophies.
Is it what you mean?

There is this development I beginning to notice in this our beloved platform,so many restrictions and most times are so so annoying the other time I replied a post to a brother constructive post and after which the account got blocked that made me feel so bad because I have had that account for so long,an account I created way back so months early last year it was a painful experience because I never expected it to happen that way.

I start feeling uneasy. A couple of weeks ago I posted here wondering why the thread I begun was deleted, as well as another post elsewhere. And today I find that the same happened with another thread I started yesterday.

Do you want the details? The first thread of some weeks ago was about how the Korean government started using blockchain for their own purposes. I was deeply baffled when I saw it deleted, while value-less new comments about e.g. Satoshi's identity stay.
An acquaintance explained to me that it was probably because I mentioned governments.
If this was the reason, then this sounds to me as if a forum for atheists should not mention the topic "god".

Even more disappointing, another message I wrote on that same day disappeared and I can't imagine why. (Can I guess that the mod who did't like my thread also deleted the message as extra punishment?)

And today? I started a thread discussing the new Metronome coin and its unusual sale strategy. I even got replies. What was my sin here? Is a decreasing price sale more meaningless than the n-th post about how great or horrible BTC is without any argument, or often without any grammatical structure? Was my sin the fact that I mention I'll buy some Metronome?

Earnest replies appreciated. I'm a noob on the forum trying to discuss what I deem to be serious questions and points, because this is how I view this whole story. I have some respect for what is going on here, so I'm baffled by my posts seemingly being considered pointless and insulting, while I'm kept in the dark as to why this is so.

Thanks for the good discussion,

Just to point out that this question is not about worries or about how to invest best ... it's just to provoke speculation.
Although it was moved from the main discussion to "beginners & help" (by someone else than me:)

I am a bit perplexed. I'm a new member, posted three times yesterday, and today I see that two of my posts are gone.
I can't even imagine a reason for this, I mean, like at all, given the posts. They were contributing to the discussion, the tone was amicable, offered some info, zero ads...
Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I certainly don't want to see my posts vanish and I'm eager to make change for the better, but I have no clue about what my offense was.

Re: I read this on Forbes today...

Most of you doesn't seem to get the eccentric sarcasm of our OP. He's trolling your bullish attitude. OP is a perfect example of that permabear that got burned once and got out, but the price kept growing and people around him were happy because their investments grew while he became more and more bitter. Now what you're seeing is a permabear that won't buy at all, ever again, even if he keeps experiencing 500% gains per year on BTC.

Is it so? Because that would give everything a different spin.
For one, I don't see how OP's Forbes quote is "fucking stupid" at all. It's entirely objective and plausible. Hate me, but I'll be glad if that was sarcasm, seeing the butterflies and lilies attitude of most replies :p

After delivery of the last bitcoin, how wll blockchain validations be motivated?

Will the fees increase by much? Will miners drop out, thus making it easier to mine, thus reducing the fees?
Other speculations?
