Re: [Survey] What do you think BFL did with pre-orders money and BTCs ?

I just requested a refund for my purchase through PayPal. Immediately after the dispute was filed I received an email with a refund confirmation from BFL. Interesting that they have it setup to automatically respond to a dispute that way.

However, they charged an "adjustment fee" of $13.28USD so I've got another message in to get that fixed. We'll see how that goes.

Note that the PayPal dispute I filed was for item not received. I did ask in the message for a refund, but I wonder if they're just refunding all the disputes or scanning the messages for the word refund. Would be odd to think they have a person actually reading them that fast and taking the proper action (as it's a Sunday afternoon here in Missouri).

I want to trust that they'll follow through, but I can't keep waiting.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Electrum - a new thin client

you are right. it requires a raw bitcoin address.
I did not have the time to catch up with the android client lately.

EDIT: I fixed that bug and updated the Android version to version 0.52. Go to step 3 on http://ecdsa.org/electrum/android.html

Thanks! Am I able to delete the old dir after I've run the new program or should I still keep it there? Guess it probably doesn't matter since I can just create my wallet again from the seed.

Thanks to Tuxavant's suggestion, it seems that adding a contact only works if it's just the address. No protocol and no label. It also just stores it as the address, with no way to name it and also doesn't seem to be a way to delete it.

Making it work with the standard protocol and allowing renaming or at least deleting would be nice additions to the app. If I have time later I'll check out the code and see if it's something I can add myself. Probably be a day or so till I get around to it though.

Dunno if this is the intended process, but when you can something with zxing, it does copy it to the clipboard. hold press on the input field and select paste.

Also, I've seen some clients fumble with the bitcoin uri - by prepending or removing "bitcoin:" from the qr encoded text makes it work. I know you can't readily change someone else's QR code... just sayin... If that is the case, perhaps pasted it to an editable field, add/remove the protocol reference, and then drop it in your client address field.

The problem is there is no place to paste the address into. It seems adding a contact is fully automated, and no way to do it manually. I should be able to generate some new QR codes and test with and without the protocol though, thanks for the idea.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but on the Android client, when I try to create a new contact it will let me scan a QR code but then nothing is saved. Using Barcode Scanner (ZXing) to do the QR code scanning.

Steps:

Open Electrum on android
Press Menu
Press Contacts
Press New Contact
Complete Action Using: Barcode Scanner
QR code is scanned from computer (Bitcoin-QT)
I am returned to Electrum on Android looking at my balance.
Press Menu
Press Contacts
Still no contacts listed.

Using Stock ICS on Verizon Galaxy Nexus. There doesn't seem to be any other way to add contacts other than QR code scanning either. Known bug? Need any more information?

Well it finally went through....we really need faster ways to get cash into exchanges. This is brutal.

Wouldn't it be great if there was a way to send money from one place to another without ridiculous fees and without having to wait several days?

Meh, just means people get more bitcoins for cheaper since it falls while they wait. The problem isn't waiting on buyers, it's sellers freaking the fuck out and continuing to sell, not realizing that if they just wait for 3 days they'll get a better price.

Sorry, didn't read the post fully. I'm using GUI miner and just filling in the flag field. Not sure the flags you'd need then.

Check this out though, it's got lots of different options: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

Flags: -v -w128 -f0

GPU: Max

Mem: 1.5x standard (put the slider in the middle)

Power: +5%

Fans: 65% (or whatever you're comfortable with. This keeps my one card at 72C and not too loud)

I get around 405 Mh/s with this. (on my one card)

I still don't understand these G+ invite threads, mainly cause i was already invited and no mail arived in my inbox neither G+ let's me get into their website...

With or without invitation all you see is this page https://plus.google.com/

You guys are clicking on the wrong link. Don't click the big Learn More button in the email. Click the view this thread on google+ or whatever it says right above the actual message that gets sent out. It will then let you sign up that way.

Isn't google+ free?

 Wink

It is if you have an invite. You still have to be invited right now so I'm offering a chance for people to get in early if they want.

I would really love one as well if anyone besides OP has one.

I've got invites. See other thread or just send to 135wouQN6TYKuZ4FcbKew74HJowJFxVugc

Remember I need your gmail (has to be gmail) address as well. PM should work. Or M8R-3ne0y6@mailinator.com if you can't PM.

google has stopped new account creation because they reached the actual users limit.. aaaaaaaaaand, who can say that u keep the BTC and no invite at all? =P u was a newbie till yesterday and using a mailinator address (ok is for spam, but.. i cant trust u sorry) Smiley

The regular way you invite people has stopped, but you can still invite people individually if you have their gmail address. mailinator is for people that don't feel like using PM (or can't, I think there's some restriction on it) and don't want to publicly post their email address.

Of course there has to be trust at some level. Make you a deal, I'll send you an invite if you'll then send me the .1BTC? Need your gmail though.

what a nice scam service Cheesy

*shrug*

I actually have the ability to invite if that's what you're trying to get at. Otherwise it's a way for people to get in who couldn't right now. Sure they could wait and get in later, but if they want in now I can get them in.

PM me your gmail address (it has to be gmail!) and send 0.1BTC to 135wouQN6TYKuZ4FcbKew74HJowJFxVugc and I'll send you an invite.

If you can't PM then you can send it to M8R-3ne0y6@mailinator.com or just post it here.

You can still invite people, it's just not done the same way. I've been inviting people all night.
