Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] ✈ 1st Scrypt Coin to Implement Bitcoin Core 0.9.0 ✔ USD/DGB

I fear it's quite possible that in few months months there are 2 people mining DGB, and both have 300mh/s asics.

I fear that no one with asics are mining DGB...that would mean its not worth anyone's hashes...

With so many new coins being released, and people moving from coin to coin like a mob, what do you think is the best way for DigiByte to break away from the pack?

We feel that focusing on getting DigiPay up and running and a few big merchants accepting DigiByte is what will allow for this to happen. What are your thoughts?

Digibyte can maybe tap into the Chinese market perhaps try and get onto bter.com exchange
This would be nice move.

It would be like getting onto Cryptsy...

Should DigiByte switch to a more ASIC proof algorithm? Vote here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=526802.0
Great conversation underway.

You guys are funny...did you check your nethash?

Try getting like a 100GH then worry about ASIC...now they can even be bothered to mine Digibyte...

Prioritize your resources and focus on getting more acceptance for DGB instead.

low hash is more of a reason to worry, not less. Imagine if supporters of other coins purchased a number of scrypt asics & went around attacking other coins with 51% attack with the purpose of killing them off. The threat is there if KnC gets anywhere near their estimated performance. My view might be seen as a bit tin foil hat material, but given the number of hacks/scams out there I think there are surely a few people who have the will & skill required to exploit such technology in order to kill off competition to the coins they personally hold.

Perhaps if they have nothing better to do with their hashrate...

My point is that DGB is realistically a very low value target...from Coinmarketcap.

chinese coin?

The coin is not Chinese, American, or European, and is not intended to be the national currency of any country/tribe. Our Dev Team gave the CaisShen it's name because it stands for prosperity, something every coin should achieve if the team behind it is committed to it's success.

Perhaps you should call it Prosperity Coin...ticker PRC

Would it be a good idea to have something like this for DGB?

http://ponzidoge.com/
Probably not. The word Ponzi has a very negative connotation. Literally looks like a literal transparent ponzi though.
Honestly, these pyramid scheme so-called "gambling site" are a scam and only the site owner is real winner.
They start at a low amount, and rely on Person B buying the lot from Person A  (note: site owner does not have to make the any investment) and the unlucky Person X loses his entire amount (which can be rather large) and the site eats that amount. Honestly the hosting and w/e costs nothing compared to just taking lots over a period of a month.

Except that in this case it doesn't look like a pyramid scheme. Max loss per person is 50,000 doge.

And site owner makes money if he suddenly refuse to pay. Or he place money into the pot as well to get the 20%. For him it is risk free.

Grin Looks like the site owner stops paying from #145 and taken out all the funds...
there's only 4700 doge left in the wallet...

There's an honest to goodness ponzi scheme out!

http://ponzidoge.com/

I sent a couple thousand. Basically, you send up to Ð50,000 and you will receive 120% back from those who send doge after you. If the scheme receives no doges for 24 hours, game over.

***DO NOT SEND WHAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO LOSE***

Such gamble. Much danger. Wow! Many Profits!

The payment seems to have stopped at #145 while there's only 4700 doge left in the wallet...

Hi everyone!

Hear you someone about GridSeed ?
New asic miner for scrypt 350kh/s only 7W!

Can this ASIC mine vertcoin (n-scrypt) ?
Thanks for info!

Have you even read anything about Vertcoin? Check the thread title, it'll answer your question Wink

Nothing beats having independent confirmation from those that have the ASIC...

Updated wallet with new logo and a few minor fixes:

Windows installer package: http://vertcoin.org/downloads/Vertcoin-setup.zip
Windows plain (non-installer) zip: http://vertcoin.org/downloads/Vertcoin-Qt-Win.zip

Ubuntu users can now install from our PPA in addition to building from source;

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:vertcoin/ppa && sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install vertcoin

Please consider contributing your signatures to our build validation process - https://github.com/vertcoin/gitian.sigs.vtc

Why not update the OP? Its going to get lost here...

It's my pleasure to announce Vertpunk - the CoinPunk based, client side, Android and iOS suitable, mobile web wallet for VTC

http://vtc.li/

Features:

  • A simple, responsive interface that works on both your desktop or on your phone
  • Zero Trust Model: Encryption and signing is done in your browser – not on our servers
  • Full support for sending and receiving Vertcoins via QR Codes for when you’re on the go
  • Backup and restore your wallet — for safekeeping or move to your own server
  • Two-Factor authentication supported via Google Authenticator

That's a nice vertcoin accepted here logo!

The current price on https://cryptorush.in/index.php?p=trading&m=ALT&b=BTC is 1ALT=0.00001004 BTC

too low

considering the block reward, this should be easily in 10k-100k range

Yes, the price will be higher.

100k satoshi sounds about right :-)

http://www.coindesk.com/asia-exchange-addition-dogecoin-price-surge/

And that ladies and gentlemen, is why we need to get ourselves on BTC38!

VTC seems to appeal to a different crowd those looking beyond scrypt ASIC...but the upcoming pandacoin seems to try to incorporate everything...Dodge that is ASIC proof?

But with 3 billion coins pre-mined...the rest of us miners will have to slog it out just to get a fraction of that. I don't know if it will be worth the hashes.

You don't like ?

Tell me what kind of modification u want.
I want to compete with/against a Master Designer (typograph [connoi]sseur) Grin

Love the two on the left(bottom and upper left). Not sure about the slogan though. The V on both logos is awesome!

The checkmark style should be match with something like "The right cryptocoin!" or something to that effect...
Like "the people's choice!"

If it has a 3D original ipad-like button/icon I think that would be even better...
