I think the community is already strong enough to let everyone know when a scam is identified, but a list could work so in that way you check the list before investing anywhere.

If we want less scams, and more adoption, we will need regulation.

I think we're all on the same side, we might differ on some details, but mostly same line of thought.

Guys, I've been reading a lot lately, and some folks have demonized ICOs. IMHO ICOs are just one more way of getting your project funded, the problem is not with the method but with the ones who try to exploit it.

My recommendation for all of you is take your time before investing, check the team, are they solid? do they complement each other? do they have a strong technical and business lead?, check the project itself, is it well defined? does it make sense? and finally check the token itself, what's its purpose?

Once everything seems to be ok, google for second opinions! If everything is still ok, go ahead, ICOs are not bad! Some folks are bad, some folks are scammers, but unfortunately you can get scammed with every other investment method too.

On the other hand, I agree that ICOs need to have some kind of governmental oversight, it can't be unregulated, is not good for anyone.

There are many, ICOs are just one more way to raise funds. There will always be scammers around, but as in any other industry.

The most interesting concept is that you can actually cash out your game profits to ETH as our game currency will be an ERC-20 Token.

You play with your friends, you win, you take their tokens, you upgrade your realm, you go fight with another player, and the cycle continues...
So basically a mobile strategy game on the blockchain, how cool is that?

In our personal experience, for the PRE-ICO of Experimental (https://e11.io) we rely a lot on forums and reddit. Also facebook and twitter, but not that much.

We don't have any bounty program going on, we are not willing to give away our tokens right now.

It's not easy but creating content is the best way, we have a blog at https://blog.e11.io that brings most of the leads for PRE-ICO investors.

Innovation is the force that moves the world towards an improved reality, it makes our lives better and opens endless new possibilities. As with power comes a great responsibility, with innovation comes an endless wave of questions and doubts that need to be answered.

There’s one sentence we repeat in almost all our blogposts “The blockchain will disrupt every industry and economy” — it sounds great, but do we really understand what it means? because it’s not only businesses getting smarter and safer and economies getting fairer, it’s also billions of people being pushed to something they don’t understand and most certainly didn’t ask for.

Alright, enough philosophic talk about the future, let us pitch you our plan and the reasons why we want you.

About Experimental

In case you haven’t already heard about us, we are Experimental, the company that will help the world understand and embrace the blockchain.
We develop projects, or experiments as we call them, that help people that never heard about the blockchain and cryptocurrencies understand what the future will look like.

Our first experiment is CryptoWars, a strategy game fully based on the Ethereum blockchain where users will be able to compete with each other to win Experimental Tokens. Experimental Tokens are our own ERC-20 currency that can then be cashed out to actual ETH, BTC or even USD.

CryptoWars is a huge challenge, both technically and business-wise, and that’s only the first experiment on the company’s roadmap so fasten your seatbelt!
About the Experimental Community

We know we are taking on a massive challenge, a huge responsibility and an amazingly fun adventure. We are absolutely conscious of the amount of work that has to be put to build this company and all the experiments we plan to work on the years to come.

This is not the first company we build, and experience gives perspective. We can’t do this by ourselves, we need a troop. We are an experienced 8-people team that has worked together for more than 8 years and sold one company, we are developers, designers, marketers, the whole deal, but there’s no team that can do this by itself, we need a network, we need feedback and advice, we need beta testers, we need ideas, we need a community.

That’s why we decided to create the Experimental Community, a group of 300 engaged and proactive blockchain enthusiasts that will help us reach our goal. We don’t expect these 300 people to be technical, the most diverse, the better. We want designers, marketers, businessmen, developers, and specific industry specialists.

There are two rules to know if you can be a part of this community:
1) Be a blockchain enthusiast.
2) Be ready to share and discuss ideas.

Defining “Collaborators”

We need 300 collaborators, most companies call these “investors” but in our case, we value more the ideas and suggestions you might bring to the table than your money (ethereum).

If you want to join our community early, you need to join our PRE-ICO. Only 300 people will be selected. The minimum collaboration is 1 ETH and the maximum is 10 ETH.

The funds raised will be mainly used for development of the beta version of CryptoWars. At some point in the future, we’ll do an ICO to fund the whole operation and start growing. Step by step and with no rush.

We want the community to be active, and this pool will be a nice way of keeping the wheels moving!

We read all applications thoroughly, we click on all links and check all profiles, so the more info you add, the better. We want to get to know you, we want to know who we can count on and for what topics.

Yes, we believe it is, but as eternalgloom says, there are several obstacles that prevent altcoins from taking the spotlight on a gaming market. Partly because game companies could lose control over their market.

Yes, if a big name company starts adapting altcoins as a currency it will surely blow up. We believe those big name companies are waiting for altcoins to be regulated properly so they don't get into any shady stuff. Also, not too many people know about or are comfortable enough with crypto to make companies adapt it.
