Re: Etherscan.io Down?

It looks like it the tokens reporting tab that is down for some reason ... if you are direct linking to your token page, try deleting the #tokentxns from the end of the URL and you should be able to see your ether transactions.  Hopefully they get the tokens tab working again soon.

Seems to be working again.

I have been trying to access https://etherscan.io for a few hours now, is it down?

No, it's working around here. Try clearing cache and cookies.
If you are not still being able to go to that, try https://ethplorer.io
They work similarly.
Still not working here, tried a different browser and computer.  still get Service Unavailable.  ethplorer.io seems to work, so I will use that for now.

Hummm... Other than Bitcoin or Ethereum, Deep Learning technologies will be in the forefront in the near future.  Might invest in some of those companies.

What do u mean by deep learning tech companies ?

There are several companies, if not 1000's starting out in deep learning technologies.  Some are Google for example, Biadu, Woebot.io, Drive.ai, deeplearning.ai...

Re: Value of Translating Whitepapers & websites for ICOs?

You just have to look into what markets are the biggest when it comes to ICO's

Russian and Chinese are the big ones, but a good ICO will translate their whitepaper into many languages.

In regards to you getting money out of it, I would ask for ETH or Bitcoin instead of their currency.

Is Chinese still big after the governmental restriction of ICOs in China?

We had our ICO translated only once and that is it. You don't need 50 different translations if your project is a good one.

I agree very much with this. To be honest, there is value in good translations IF the demand is there. What usually happens is, if the project is a good one, and there is a non-English speaking community, then people will naturally translate and put it up anyway.

If you're not careful, translations can mislead, since developers don't have the means to determine if translations are accurate or even complete. I can read one other language here and I've seen terrible translations, to be frank.

Thanks, that is my concern.  If there are errors or mis-statements in the translation this can pose legal issues for the company although we don't even know those issues exist until it is too late.  It almost sounds like the best policy is to publish in languages that the company can validate and if communities wish to translate for there own purposes then hopefully there are enough eyes on the translation that they don't mislead themselves.

Thanks, did you have any concern with errors in the translation and what that might mean to your business?  What language did you get it translated into and did it make a difference do you think to your results?

Value of Translating Whitepapers & websites for ICOs?

I have seen a few offers to Translate my whitepaper and website into other languages.  I am wondering if there are studies on what languages may be the most valuable based upon ICO participation worldwide?

I am sure there are a few languages that might make sense, although I am a little concerned here in the US that if there is an error in the translation or a claim that is accidentally introduced in a translation (unintentionally mainly due to idioms, etc) this could cause legal problems in the US.  Has anyone had experience in that area as well?

eTardis Releases Draft Whitepaper — RFC
Software Distribution Re-Imagined

https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/1200/1*bdFunIyGUlER07rdeOCCWA.png

After a few months of revision and discussion with developers, the eTardis whitepaper has been released for public comments. We are looking for your feedback before we start an Ethereum ICO ERC-20 Token for the business. Please review the draft whitepaper and email us your feedback.

Our goal is to better support and embrace software developers. There are a number of places developers can list their product for sale and there are companies that will help promote software. eTardis is different.

Our focus is the developer and their product. We will help support the developer to do what they like to do the most, develop great software. As such, we will purchase the distribution rights for their product to give them an up-front payment. We will then start to market and sell their product with our proprietary concept to maximize profits.

The profits don’t just return to eTardis. They are distributed in a unique way between the developer, eTardis operation costs, and reinvestment into marketing activities. The more a product earns, the more investment it will get into marketing and sales activities to benefit both the eTardis company and product developer.

If that isn’t enough, eTardis wants to recognize the relationship between the developer and the company. Although the developer is not part of eTardis, they can be eligible for profit sharing.

PROFIT SHARING FOR THE DEVELOPER!

That is correct and not a typo. We thought long and hard about how to better support the developer. We want developers to feel like we have their back and not their money. Given their products help to build the company, we feel that it is appropriate to return some of the corporate profits back to those who helped make the company grow.

Developers can get more information and submit a place in queue for consideration for the launch event at the eTardis website.

We look forward to reading your comments.

Thanks for reading, we are working towards an ICO launch but would like to get feedback on the whitepaper to include best practices and potentially great ideas to add to the company.  We are working on the ERC-20 Token and contract so we are not ready to launch.  Once we release a final revision of the whitepaper we would like to give people 7 days to review prior to the pre-ICO.

Also, we want people to have time to review the Ethereum Contract code we will post to Github prior to launch.

Thanks for your time and consideration.  We would love feedback on the bonus schedule.  Also, if you know a developer whom might want to be included in the launch please send them to us.  We are also looking for top-notch Marketing & Sales as well as Business Development as the business grows.

Policy Question about draft documents

Hi,

I have a draft whitepaper (Ethereum based) that I would like to get feedback upon.  It isn't ready for primetime pre-ICO or ICO launch as I need feedback and have to finish the ERC20 token code and post it to Github.

Is there a section other [Announcements (Altcoins)] where I should post this information?  It seems like that is for more the the launch type discussion.

Pre-ICO Higher Risk?
by
eTardis
on 05/09/2017, 16:49:01 UTC
I have seen discussions on high bonuses for pre-ICO.  It seems to me this is appropriate for early investing.

My thought is the bonus is warranted as there is likely higher risk involved.  The pre-ICO might not be escrowed as it is being used to fund the marketing and launch of the ICO.  This means if the ICO fails to raise its minimum, the pre-ICO are simply out their investment, but certainly if the ICO is a success, then the early investors are rewarded for their risk.

I see the concern about early investors liquidating after the initial ICO close.  This could cause the price of the token to drop rapidly.  Is there any tricks to prevent this or slow it down?  My thought is the company that minted the token to hold enough demand (Say, 500,000 tokens distributed during pre-ICO, if the company held demand for 500,000 tokens at a fixed price (say final ICO price)) would this help stabilized the possible spike in sales at the ICO close?

Hi, you can try PTC sites like Neobux, grandbux etc. I don't think adwords is a good option. Between you can also launch a bounty, where Bitcointalk members can carry your banners as signatures or just advertise on Bitcointalk. That's a better targeted audience.
In my experience PCT burn your money. You could only recrut users with another PCT and BUX site. You would also build a bad reputation. Bitcointalk is really the best option to get your pre ico visible as preposter already stated because you reach the most interested users, who even search for interesting ICO projects.

Thanks, that is great advice.  I will certainly post here once the final draft of the whitepaper is ready.  The PPC ICO ads do seem impersonal and there are lots of them so it makes sense to stick to a forum.  I have heard that Reddit might be a good spot to in the /r/ethinvestor/, any thoughts on that platform for pre-ICO information?

Thanks, do you know if bounty works with ETHER?  My ICO will be an Ethereum Smart Contract.  I am not exactly sure how the Bounty would work.  I do intend to offer compensation as part of the pre-ICO for YouTube videos, Bloggers, and Press Releases.  The issue is to bring attention to that before it is self sufficient.

Also, it isn't clear to me that Neobux is a quality Ad view?  Seems like there is talk of automating the process and paying people to log in and view those Ads.  Does this not mean the incentive is on viewing rather than attracting interested parties to the ICO?

Pay Per Click services?

I have been looking for a lower cost solution to promote a pre-ICO with PPC, the only service I could find was cointraffic but they have shut down new campaigns unless you have 10,000 euros per month as a budget.

Is there another low cost solution for a pre-ICO?  Am I just approaching the problem wrong?  Should I simply use Google Adwords?

Thanks
