if rigs is only dedicated to mining then no worries
yes, my rig has never been used for anything else like opening youtube, social media, downloading, streaming movies so I don't care to update for AV except when 1st setting.

if later when the running rig needs something that needs updating and needs to download outside the file for Win like claymore, I do it on another PC that isn't used for mining.

Because, Windows may have important security updates, which if you miss to install, may leave your system vulnerable and prone to malicious attacks.
It's been a year since I disabled the update until now it doesn't have a critical problem about it, as long as the Rig is only installed, what is needed for mining (claymore, GPUZ, atikmdag) is likely not to happen.

but for this, I agree
It's better to set them on Manual.

I know that's, though some of merit history was removed, we can still see it on https://bpip.org/.

dark isn't the real meaning then I add (" "), especially for merit transactions, as I have explained above.

"dark room" is just an allusion to describe some cases merit transactions such as:

1. Probably found merit seller (and he is an merit abuser).

2. Mr and Mrs Creampie Cumshot merit spitballing

3. Merit Farming

4. Alts exchanging merits

5. etc..

but if your opinion that's an assumption with real meaning, it doesn't matter to me. everyone has a different perspective

of course, it's worth disabling Windows updates but I only wrote something that usually miners often forget including me when setting a new rig, I always forget that things.

For new altcoin miners don't forget to do this:

1) Turn off Window Defender
if ON, some cases of hashrate dropped when WinDef doing scans and the software miner as a detected virus, it is a false alarm.

2) Don't forget to increase Virtual Memory size at least 16 GB, bigger is better
some low VM cases can make a crash or freeze for software miner  even Window

3) Turn off sleep mode in the Window
if sleep mode in "ON" setting can make the software miner stop when "sleeping".

I see it's not clear, like VPM or ordinary fans? If I use VPM which is assembled for each rig, I have used a regular fan but what happens, the heat that's blown isn't as efficient as using VPM, btw, overall I see your mining room very lovely and comfortable.

it's better to put the links in "code" tag so it doesn't click

This's another phishing list:
Code:
bitcointalk.[to]
bitcointalk.[net]
bitcointa[ll]k.[org]
bitcointa[I]k.[org]

especially bitcointalk.to have automatically generated the same content as https://bitcointalk.org/

Alright then tell them to create some basic script to check how strong the chosen password is!
If this's a suggestion, then a good to apply in a forum by adding information about the password used when registering. Maybe trusted members (hilariousetc) like you can discuss (PM) with theymos about this.

If the hacking cause has already been identified what the hell the Theymos / Cyrus are waiting for to address it then fix it ??.
I'm sure they are thinking about it and have a solution to overcome this, but the problem is the lack of communication.

Quote
it is not a matter if we the users have a "weak password"
it's a problem, members must have a strong password at least this makes hackers have difficulty in carrying out the action.

Quote
they could hire Google, Amazon or any other service to handle user authentication.
I think Theymos will not use their services because there is sensitive data that must be shared.

You sure you didn't accidentally use bad wiring to get that melted riser? Such as a poorly connected +12V?
of course not

And other things I've experienced when the GPU gets too hot:
- PSU cable and connector from/to the GPU melts
- GPU paste processor quickly dry
- GPU fan loosens quickly because it is forced into the maximum rotation (R9 290 sapphire).

Vod : is it possible at https://bpip.org/ to display lists of DT members and their history of trust?
maybe there are some casual members like me who are curious to know the number of DT members in this forum.

thanks

Edit
You can find all DT-members here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust
It's doesn't show the history though, only the current DT-members.
my bad, I just knew that but I still ask bpip to display it, so it doesn't need to log this forum to see it

GPUs can handle somewhat high temperatures pretty fine (around 65-80C). I have seen people running their mining rigs at 85C for 3+ years with no problems (R9 290 cards aka heat blowers).

To get the temps. down, just move the hot air out of the room you have your rig in.
yes, R9 series (290,290x,390) can run at that temperature even 90C for 3 days, but 80-90C isn't good for other hardware especially USB Riser can melt (that's what I experienced) and sometimes Rig can restart itself, until now to reduce heat all my Rigs using assembled VPM (Delta), this method pretty good (for me).

Re: Which of the altcoins is most profitable to mine?
by

@leonix007 I doubt whether the OP really doesn't know about the mining of altcoins, why OP doesn't use the search function on this forum or can use google. but I want to be like you think positively about OP and share knowledge with OP even though I am not an expert here.

If you talk about profit, there are a number of things that can influence such as:
1. Hardware specifications
If only using a CPU, processor specifications are very important to determine your hashrate . If you use a Mining Rig (GPUs), the type and series of GPUs determine the hashrate

2. which coin do you want to mined
You must pay attention to the Network hashrate and Difficulty of the coin. this is directly proportional to the hashrate generated by your mining device.

3. Pool

4. Electricity and Internet costs in your country

Darn it is more profitable according to ascminervalue
The price too is so expensive which is hard to buy and I think only people with big farms can buy this miner.
The good thing about this miner it is noiseless because the cooling device is water.
Yes, it has better low noise and power consumption =  11xGPU with RX580 series also the price is cheaper but I doubt whether the features offered will be the same as the reality, especially about low noise.

Is this story included in the spam category, sorry guys just joking. Grin

almost the same, my first here is for learning how to mine altcoins. I have been here for a year and this forum, especially the mining(Altcoins), is fantastic, giving me valuable information from zero mining of altcoins until I have several rigs that can be used as additional income outside the real-life profession. that's why almost 95% of my posts are there.
