We have the same experience. I'm also hesitant then, considering I have little knowledge about crypto, so I didn't take the risk. When I finally made up my mind to invest, the prices are at its peak. Definitely, that was a wrong move. I bought high, hoping that it'll go even higher, which didn't happen. And now, the price is oh-so dumped. But I am not losing hope that bull run will come again. Actually, no one can really tell when the next bull run will happen. All that we hear are just hasty speculations. Well, for me, it doesn't matter if it comes this year or in 3 years to come. What matters is we know that it will come. Looking at the fast and various developments in the crypto world now and the many merchants that are starting to embrace its ideas, we can be sure of that it wouldn't take long.

Wow! That's truly a long but amazingly informative post. Incontestably, the history of bitcoin is something good to hold on to about crypto. From that, we can sense that it's really going a good direction, contrary to what others say that it's nearly dying. From its very humble beginning (particularly in 2009 when it was first mined to 2013 when it reached $1B market cap), we can see that bitcoin had developed greatly, and even though it's hardly dumped now, I still believe that there's more to it. The best of bitcoin is yet to come, and it's just starting to make its history.

Well, if the predictions serve right, then we should all be glad because, it's the right time to accumulate more bitcoin and other crypto assets. Once it hits $1,100, many will surely hasten to buy and to hoard, as almost everyone's looking forward for it to bottom out. And we all know that for something that is down, there's nowhere to go but up. So if this year will not be good for the market, it is still profitable for accumulation, accumulation of more assets and accumulation of learning. Who knows? This might be the last year that we will see the price of bitcoin that low. So we're lucky enough to experience this worst bear market, so that we can prepare for the next bull run.

I also thought the same thing before, and I tell you, not only us, but many traders, thought of finding another job. Well, it's not bad to go look for another job. Actually, it will make you more productive if you have many jobs. Anyway, you can make trading as your part-time job. With the present condition of the market, it's really hard to make profit no matter how much scalping you do, especially if you are just day-trading. When you bet on long-term trading, it's very risky and will be very painful to your daily operations if trading is your bread and butter. Well, just charge last year and this year to experience. Just pick up all that you can learn in order for you to be a profitable trader, while engaging in other jobs so that you can also make a living for your family. Surely, you will learn something. Only you can assess it for yourself.

Well, no one can really predict the future of anything, especially the crypto market which is highly unpredictable and volatile. But I want to make an assumption that the ETF will be approved this 2019. It's long been pending, and I don't see any reason for the government not to approve it now, especially that its proponents are doing their best to correct the errors of the past proposal and to comply with the SEC requirements. Bull run is also highly probable subsequent to that. I also do believe that every year in crypto is a year of education, regardless of the situation of the market.

Of course, things will change, especially when bitcoin enters the mainstream. About no. 2, it's impossible that only small traders will trade on crypto exchanges. So where would the whales go in this crypto space, or what role will they play in case? Of course, they want to gain profit through trading, just as anybody wants. About your speculation that only the large exchanges will exist, well, if this bear season will last any longer, for another years at worst, this scenario is not far from reality. Many traders already quit, many exchanges already closed (many are hardly surviving), and many ICOs failed. This long dip will surely purge the best of the best--best projects, best exchanges, etc.

I share same sentiments with OP. Just to clear things out, I am not against KYC. Mind you, I've undergone many, and I've passed. But what I don't understand is that there a lot of bounties which require it after the campaign. They didn't even care to inform the hunters from the beginning that it is required. To the hunters surprise, which many do not have passport, national IDs nor driver's license (some are students, some do not have money to secure one), it will be announced after they have rendered much time and effort. Obviously, they can't get the token they worked for. And yeah, it should be for the customers only as the name implies.

I think, the biggest problem that cryptocurrency is facing now that caused its long dramatic downtrend is its legalization and regulation issues. This fuels the FUD that fudsters spread in the market. But if there is no basis for these FUD, if people are assured of the certainty of crypto through a solid backup from the a physical authority or government, the market would somehow stabilize, or at least, it would not experience hard massive dumps like this for a long time. My advice is just go on with what you are doing in this crypto space.There's nothing we can do with it that to show our support to crypto. If the government sees that crypto has a strong, solid community support, then it'll follow us in adopting and embracing crypto.

I don't think this is possible. Remember that transaction fees go to blockchain mining which keeps the transaction in the network secured. So basically, it's the miners' reward for tracking and securing blockchain transactions. Even if the total mineable coins of bitcoin is mined, sending BTC without a fee would remain just a dream, as long as crypto is using blockchain to make transactions, especially now that the demand for the use of blockchain gets higher and higher each time.

Thanks for this great warning, OP. It really happened and is still happening up to now. Actually, this scenario does not know any season. Whether it's bear or bull season, scamming is rampant in crypto space, especially that we have been experiencing recession for the longest time now. This scheme would be more prominent when the bull run comes. So it's really a must to examine the project meticulously, the transparency of the team and their capacity to fund it. I personally do not buy new ICOs now. I do believe it's much safer to invest in established projects, especially those on the top 10 in the coinmarketcap.

Many traders, veteran or new, fail nowadays because in this season, technical analysis is not applicable anymore. What is offered in Youtube and is followed by many trading coaches nowadays is learning to read candles and graphs, and with the current situation of the market now, it's hardly reliable. The flow of the market gets more and more difficult to predict now. So don't feel sad. You are not alone in that disheartening situation. Use that failure to explore the trading space to your advantage.

Very well-said, OP! We have seen the bull run with our very eyes and experienced its tremendous gains, so what would hinder us to continue believing? We've been one of the lucky recipients of crypto's grace last 2017, and that's enough reason to hold on for me. I personally entered this crypto space when it was so down and everyone's frustrated. No one have ever thought that the next months it would rally high, but it did. Many regretted that had they known it, they would have invested earlier. And this again is the scenario. And I don't wanna regret again that I didn't believe, seeing that many crypto ATMs are being established day by day in the different parts of the world and many companies are welcoming the crypto idea. These are good signs that crypto isn't dying, so just hold on.

With the current situation of the market, I don't think new projects can survive and compete with the established ones. Even the established ones hardly make it now in the market due to this long season. And if, in case, they are, there's no telling how far they can go. There are also a lot of promising projects aside from Grin and Nauticus like Moneytoken and Ubex, but they seem to be problematic too. No. 1 is the funding. It's really difficult to get a project run without sufficient funds. Even the investors turn their back 'coz everyone's affected greatly by the dramatic drop in value (not just in price). That's why many projects now are on stand-by or lie-low mode, waiting for the market to get up, so they can get the right timing. I guess, that's even a more practical move rather than trying to compete nowadays.

Yeah, the decline slowed down lately, which is alarming. Apparently, the market is still grieving; no signs of upward movement still, and many are still positive that this plunge will still go a long way. But of course, no one can predict the market movement at any rate. Let's just hope and pray that this dip is the bottom and this slow movement of the market in declination is the preparation for the veering of it. Afterall, there's this Bakkt thing that everyone's eyeing about. So let's just hope for the best.

Yeah, you are right. We shouldn't entrust our hard-earned crypto-assets to any exchange despite good reviews from the community and the sweet promises from its CEO that they'll keep it safe, unless we are going to sell or trade. Asset not kept in our safekeeping is not safe at all. It's really very risky on our part. Afterall, whatever happens to us, it's our sole responsibility; no one's to be blamed since we each have a mind of our own. It's much safer if we'll invest in offline wallets like Ledger, and be responsible not to give your keys to anyone.

I think the market is still down because it had not reached the peak of its correction. It skyrocketed dramatically last 2017, and this kind of movement is not healthy for any market. It needs to be corrected in order to maintain equilibrium. Obviously, it was abused by many crypto enthusiasts. It also brought fear of bubble bursting anytime to some. So what we need now to lift the value of bitcoin stably is assurance through legalization and regulation. This, I guess, would be a great weapon against FUD which largely affect the price in a negative way.

No matter how much we promoted an ICO anywhere, there's nothing we can do to gain their trust and interest back in crypto again. They lost faith in it because of heavy losses brought about by this long bear season, and there's no telling yet how deep this plunge will go. All the investors need is a glimpse of light in the market. They are eyeing to catch sight of some signs of bull run. Once the market shows signs of liveliness again, even if we don't promote, investors will automatically come back 'coz they smell profit.
