how do I update from the old client to the new client on my Pi? I tried entering in what it says to on the wiki but that didn't do anything. I am a linux noob completely.

I kind of feel like a dork because I am super stoked about the first stake I will get on my pi. Most likely because I actually had to do some work to get it working instead of double clicking on an icon and then boom, having it work.

Re: [ANN][HYP] HyperStake | 750% PoS | Most Advanced Coin Control Wallet | 6 Themes
I don't know if it is just me thinking this but it appears that my wallet on my Pi is downloading the blockchain much better (less getting stuck on blocks) when I have the original theme selected. It could just be a coincidence but it hasn't gotten stuck on a single block since I switched over to it two hours ago. The hyperblue theme seems like it would get stuck every 45 minutes to an hour.
This is likely coincidence. Early blocks get stuck a lot, part of the carryover from Truckcoin.
To my knowledge, the themes have absolutely nothing to do with the code that handles the actual mechanics of the coin, but if they ARE interfering, it would be good to know, and to kill the bug.
I don't know. It had been brutally slow until I switched. When I started syncing the other day until my last post I was at only about 50%. after switching themes I have gone up 20% to 70% blockchain sync'd in just a few hours. I am sure it is just coincidence but I felt it weird and figured I would post to let it be known.
EDIT: I just thought of this question. If I move my wallet.dat from my mac client to the pi when it is done syncing, will that reset my staking time? If it does I may leave it on my mac client until it stakes.

I just assume it was the conf file. I left it on for a few hours while I went to work last night and when I got home it still didn't have any actual connections to the network. I added a few nodes. We will see if that helps. Does the rcpuser and password field make a difference as to what is actually entered into them?
Only if you are making rpc calls. Otherwise, no, they don't make a difference.
yeah.....I don't know what that is so that wont matter for me. I got it to connect to the network though. I copy'd the peers.dat and blkindex.dat from my mac wallet and it now connects to the network as well as loading up in about 10 seconds as opposed to a minute and a half

lol on the pi? beats me (dont have any pi's anymore) but I'd wager its gonna be a while... takes a good amount of time on a regular pc as it is.
yeah, thats what I figured haha. It's not like I use it for anything really so it isn't going to bother me just to leave it and let it do its thing. Now I guess I should actually do that school work I have been putting off all day. Again, thanks a lot man. I never would have gotten it on there if I didn't have you helping.

Again, sorry this whole day has been one train wreck after another. I'm glad you are sorted out bud!
no, thank you man. I've currently got the qt running on my macbook but I didnt want to leave that on 24/7. I am glad you were able to help me get it running. Now just a random question for you: How long does it take to load the bootstrap data?

haha it's ok. I've been "working" on some gradschool stuff thats due at midnight since noon and all I have done is watch youtube videos and try and get this working. I just entered the new code and it looks like everything downloaded and updated and such. should I try and open the qt now?
EDIT: WAHOO IT WORKS! Thanks man! Thanks a ton! Now it is loading the bootstrap from the script. This will take a while

It looks like I am getting the same missing ones even after following what you've said to do. followed steps 1-4 via copy and paste and still get missing things when I enter
ok now we are getting somewhere. looks like a hiccup installing the dependencies so lets just try to install them all again to make sure nothing is missing
So after my first HYP wallet got hacked (stupidly I didn't have it encrypted and I saw a withdrawal I didn't make for everything but a few decimal points) I am trying to get it up and running on my Raspberry Pi B+. I ran the install script on the first page and it looks like it did everything just fine but when I double click on the icon on the desktop, nothing happens. I have Raspbian as my OS and am pretty much a Linux n00b so any help will be greatly appreciated.
Open up a terminal and copy this into it and press enter
and see what happens. If the qt does not start up, please copy and paste what is displayed in the terminal window.
