Something is definitely off with X11 on the global stats page.  It looks like my miners are getting about .00032/mh/s/day over the last 12 hours, and the top bar consistently shows the pool at 300%+ LTC, but the site is showing .00018/117%.  Not a huge deal but I'm pretty sure something is off there.

Well so much for the KEY coin 550 blocks I don't see any recent ones now Sad
Reward must have switched to 150 now and no longer our most profitable Sad
Congrats to those who stuck with X13 for the awesome but too short bonus Smiley (I did)

EDIT: yep that's it, now only paying 150 blocks ...

X13 - the last day has been like the good old days of scrypt. Glad I didn't bounce my miners over to Nist5 for longer than a couple days, was a lucky break.

What?? It's alive?!  Was still in my watchlist and figured I'd come check out the last posts of the coin I was bag holding, and to my amazement the new wallet  is synching without error.  Nice job devs!

EDIT: Spoke too soon.  Stuck on block 42492.  Twice.  Second time I cleared everything from the folder in %appdata%\ShaCoin except the wallet, so it was starting from a clean slate.

DOUBLE EDIT:  addnodes in conf file fixed...

TRIPLE EDIT: ...or not.  Seems like it's freezing up when synching every few thousand nodes and needs to be restarted to resume.  It's running again now but it froze the first time on 42492 for over half an hour, was definitely hung.  Anyone else having this problem?

It hung twice for me, and has been flawless since it got current. But it did lock up solid until I restarted it.

All up to date, it did it two or three times all told but it finished synching overnight, so not too onerous.

Frank: thanks for the full blockchain links...

With the updated conf file posted above in various places, I was able to sync fully and my POS transactions are currently at over 100 confirms and appear to be working.  I have a ton of orphaned ones from before but that's no problem from what I can tell.

I updated the wallet and started minting yesterday.  It looked like everything was working at first, I had about 10 or 12 coinstake transactions after a few hours, but today they are all orphaned, and were all re-submitted to the blockchain.  It appears that this keeps happening in a loop.  Each time the amounts are marginally higher, presumably due to coindays increasing with time, but I can't seem to get more than 10 or 15 confirms before the blocks orphan and the cycle repeats itself.  I was perpetually 10 or 12 blocks behind after blowing away the database and resynching from scratch, but am now 1650+ blocks behind.  Even before I started minting it never quite caught up completely.  I didn't update the .conf file (I don't have one), so it's using whatever is hard-coded into the binary.

Most of my coins are currently listed as staked.  I haven't read through the entire thread from the last couple days but this seems like a problem others are not reporting, exactly.  This coin certainly still has some issues, it would appear, even if it is working okay for some.  What should I do?  Blow away the DB/blockchain and let it resynch again?  Is it okay to do this while all of my coins are listed as staked?

Also not happy about the fact that he has logged in (Last Active: Today at 02:40:33 PM) and has not addressed this yet.

Seriously losing all confidence in this coin.

Yep, seeing the problems that Version has had with POS, and that with a fairly active dev, I don't have much faith that this is a quick or simple issue to resolve.

I'm curious as to why the Dev hasn't responded to our questions about the specifics of POS minting for this coin...he coded it, so he should have the answer.  But from what I can tell, he hasn't answered the recent POS question like when will it start.

There are others, myself included, who could look through the source code and determine what, exactly, the terms of POS are, but I haven't had the time and was kind of hoping the dev would step and respond.  Any volunteers?

Edit: haven't gotten too far into it, but looks like its a clone of bountycoin, so there may be some answers there.

SHACoin is not dead. People always think that if there is nothing posted on bitcointalk the coin must be dead.

A new community forum has been created, go look:

http://www.shacointalk.org

On March 14th the Shacoin Dev posted there asking for help:
http://www.shacointalk.org/index.php?topic=3.msg5#msg5

Instead I see a bunch of people complaining in bitcointalk. How is that helping?

...and the site is overrun with what appears to be Japanese spam.  Nobody is moderating or taking care of that site from the looks of it.  No dev input here. No discussion or activity of any sort on another forum.  I mined a few and bought a few more of these coins, would really like to see it succeed for this and other reasons (I like the whole POS idea), so my hope is that at some point the dev sees that we are clamoring for his attention and that he will engage with the community *somewhere*!

Voting For A NEW LOGO Here, New version will be released till logo contest finished

Hi there, any response as to when POS will kick in?  It sounds like it should have already, but nobody has seen any staked coins yet.  Is there an actual problem that the new wallet version will fix?

The same people saying the same things. Fraud scam etc. . .so bizarre. I follow a few other coin's threads and this isn't normal. They usually move on.

It's because people keep mining mazacoin even after the price tanked.  A lot of people, myself included, believe that there is the potential for a long-term future for this coin.  Everyone knows that most others won't be around after a while, and they stop paying attention.  Could go that way with mazacoin but it's anything but a sure bet at this point.  So it will keep attracting trolls.

who got their wallet mint? please show some pic please.

I made the config file and the Mint.Bat. My wallet says "encrypted and unlocked" but nothing has happened yet. I will get a screen shot when i get off work for you.

I still have my wallet unencrypted -- going to fix this momentarily but it shows no stake shares yet.  My first coins were received more than a couple days ago.  Was unclear whether POS started before POW period ends or not.

I updated today, blew away the database, let it resync, and everything looks okay except there are five minted transactions that show as unconfirmed, then two more recent ones that were confirmed.  So I've got one mint from 3/11 that was confirmed, two from today confirmed, and five previous ones from today unconfirmed.

Also, I've more than double my holdings from mining now with the POS coins (just the confirmed ones, at that).  Not that I'm complaining, but for a mixed POW/POS coin, the rate calculations seem kind of high.

Hello there. I am looking for all coins that can be mined using CPU. Can you tell me if these can be mined using CPU? Please msg me back to let me know? Thanks.

Anything could be CPU mined, there would just be no point;)  Shacoin is SHA256 and is ASIC only if you ever want to see any coins.

The advantage to shacoin is that most of the coins will be generated using POS, so if you buy some coins now and hold them, you will be receiving dividends into perpetuity without mining at all.

I spec'd out a bitcoin mining rig in 2010 but really couldn't afford it at the time, and I thought that since solo mining was already infeasible that I'd already missed the boat. Little did I know...

cex.io and all that bullshit what comes with it lol.  Grin

I completely understand them,  they just want new clients and offer more reward.  They dont want all pools go there to get their money. Is there someone who cant understand something as easy as this one?.  I would do exactly the same.

If wafflepool tomorrow give extra % to new clients, and all pools come to mine here to get his money, he will do ALL to stop them, right?

you don't post an ad for a sale for 50% off and when people enter the store tell them "oh fuck you, its actually 25% off".  unless you are scummy ass car dealer of course.  and that's what this feels like.  fuckem

They're giving away free money -- a fair amount of it.  On the one hand they shouldn't be surprised that people take as much as possible, so boo on them for not anticipating this.  On the other hand I can't really hold it against them for not wanting to pay out huge sums to a pool that will 100% guaranteed move away once the offer is done.  They could have just pulled the offer, or blocked wafflepool's IP address, but it seems like they are trying to manage the situation without resorting to that, so I've got to give them some kudos.

And to someone's previous point, the site is nice, I still have a more positive impression of ghash.io than I did when this thing started (only heard of them in re 50%+1 attack on bitcoin and double-spending attacks).

Two choices left now: pull out or open the floodgates...doesn't make sense to just sit at 40 any more.  I *personally* would prefer wafflepool pull out so my measly 1.7mh/s can get its double LTC payout but I somehow don't think that's likely to happen;)

Next payout will be 1.25x.  Dial it back please - you will get more from the double payouts than spiking the hashrate.  They haven't just blocked you like they could have, which would have really been not living up to their promotion, so may as well keep it under 40 and let the good times roll...
