Hey @frambelicious,
thanks for the update
is it necessary to update to the latest version?
i'm running 1.1.0.6
Hey ShXnot,

no, the release was rather cosmetical, it was mainly a few localization issues (tooltip translations) and to get the changes for Mac on board. So all in all: v1.1.0.6 should do well.

Many greetings

I'm glad to have people like you supporting this coin. I can't wait to see the new wallet version your working on. Keep up the good work!
Hey, many thanks!

Btw: in case someone missed the recent updates, find the latest Frozen-sources and binaries (Windows + Mac) here:

Also, how is block_erupter/lecture doing giveaways if there was no premine?
The giveaways came to great parts from the FZ community itself: from the early FZ miners and investors. And Block_Erupter had to do te same like everybody: mine and buy. I know you have some trouble with Shares and I hope the matter gets resolved for good. But this is the Frozen-Thread. There's no reason to bash this community coin - this is off-topic here and unfair to the Frozen community.

@all, my nick on the Frozen-Forums is "Trenton" and I've been fixing the sources and building the newer wallet versions v1.1.0.x. The latest release v1.1.0.7 is pretty good, it might be even better than the upstream QRK at the moment. I will continue to work on Frozen if need arises.

Hey all,

Has anyone gotten their refund?

I'm coming to read this thread thanks to some offtopic visits in another thread... FYI:

- I had invested 1.5 BTC in Shares ( b4f324f8d2977e742afe4d1dd15e73cfe6e5c373bc03dce48dd05855a34abc53 + 0ecf42b95e231865c5eac0aa48715686ef8217d8a0b3fbebd19d5814311c595e )
- After reconsidering my investment I asked for a refund and got it ( 171c4965016fbb09e8ca6ac8565c0131011da728e09c7ad48dcb79f192422e11 )

So I've got no reason at all to complain - the handling was all ok for me and I was quite surprised to read this thread.

I have no clue if these Chinese development is for real or not. So far I've seen lots of panic here in this thread, which is a bad sign for investors anyway... My suggestion would be: calm down a bit. Give Block Erupter time to organize the refunds - as far as I understand he has no control over the wallet, and China has some hours of delay.

Just my few cents...

Mhh, I've three questions:

1. I suspect you have some proof for your accusations? (Haven't seen that)
2. I understand your accusations are about the "Shares" project? I think in the initial post Block_Erupter says that he is not the dev of that project?

And please know, there are more people working for and supporting Frozen!

As far as I see these two topics are not related at all. If you've something to complain about Shares, please do it in the Shares-Thread.

Regards

He used this frozenshit as some kind of reference for his IPO ,trying to lure more people by making him more believable.
No matter how many other people are "supporting" this , the coin has been tainted by a guy who plays sdice with people's money and doesn't return the money when asked.
Anyhow , it's just another alt with no future:)

I respect your opinion. Still, I see strong accusations and no proof. I think bashing Frozen because of something completely else is simply off-topic and unfair.

Imho...

Re: Multipools......the real coin killers?
by
frambelicious

But what it comes down to is that the people not on multipool CAN hold, whereas those on it are definitely not.
I think that's the point - if you know how some market members are acting, you can play them. The easiest way I see lies in the combination with the autosell functionality of Cryptsy - other exchanges have probably similar mechanisms in place...

My impression is that the autoselling feature offers the coins at a price a tiny bit below the lowest offer. As an Altcoin-Collector / Investor you do the following:
  • Watch Altcoins with a high spread (selling price is higher than buying price)
  • If a pool comes in autoselling you notice it by the arrival of new sale offers (each asking for a price a little bit lower)
  • Place a buy offer, offering a little bit more than the current highest bidder
  • Offer coins for sale (a little bit higher than your rebuy bid)
  • The next autosold coins will be offered at a price *below* your offer. Simply wait for the cheap coins coming in and gobble them up

In a bear market as right now you will probably simply wait for the cheap offers, but in a bull market I think you can play the autosellers like described above. Practically this mechanism seems to be in place, even if unvoluntarily...

Block reward keeps dropping... better mine your coins while you can!
Absolutely! The coin reward is now at a bit less than 24 Fz / block, in about a week it will be at 20 Fz and less.

If you ever want to mine Frozen, do it better now Smiley

Frozen [FZ] - Miners With *OUTDATED* v1.0.0 Software Create INVALID Blocks
by
frambelicious
on 07/01/2014, 19:26:21 UTC
Dear Frozen miners,

if you are using frozend v1.0.0.0 you have been missing a *mandatory update*. You are currently mining invalid blocks!

These blocks will not be added to the block chain, you will not earn coins! Please update your wallet!

Background: I see in "getpeerinfo" still some share of old v1.0.0.0 clients as well as invalid transactions in debug.log.

Make sure you back up your wallet.dat somewhere safe in the unlikely event that something goes wrong. Resources:

Happy mining!

PS: the current block reward is 23.79033 FZ. It is declining each 120 blocks - a sooner you get your wallet updated, a bigger is your profit!

PPS: if you're unsure which version you are running, you can see it in the QT client with "Help => About Frozen", or with the RPC command "getinfo" (in your debug console, or with the daemon as 'frozend getinfo')

About Bernankoin (BEK), I think this should be put under "high risk".

Background: as far as I understand the coin is meant to be a political joke. The idea was to demonstrate practically a system based on the principle: "a more money already issued, a more money will be issued". This means, a more miners will partake, a higher the block reward will be. As of a statement of the author I think to recall, that the coin cannot have long term value, and is not meant to.

My wallet says transaction too large when I try to move around more.
This tends to happen if you use p2pool mining... Try setting up a new address and sending small chunks to that internally - say 10-20 FZ at a time...
This doesn't appear to be helping.

Please refer to the procedure described here: http://frozencoin.org/forum/index.php?topic=221.0 ("Pool Miner's problem"). The general idea is to send all amounts of your accounts with small amounts via RPC command "sendfrom 200"

The best way is to have the in a new wallet.

I hope that this coin will skyrocket very soon. Hava everything to do this !

I think that's quite likely. The miners are still giving away their coins quite cheap - compared to e.g. CAT you can get 10 times as much of the total stake for the same price. Some may notice that the difficulty is rising and the block reward is declining very quick now. The one or other miner will think of a 10k pizza later Wink

Good time for investors still  Cheesy

Frozen is even catching Quark!  (difficulty 2500 v 4000) With only 7,777,777 coins to be minted to start with, the price should be higher.
I'm expecting Cryptsy to pick it up, it will then go on CoinMarketCap and 0.00025 will be in play.

About FZ vs. Quark: yep! I have seen Frozen now quite a number of time with a difficulty > 4,000... And a comparison in this moment shows FZ with a difficulty of 3500, Quark with 3200. I assume the price can get easily to the regions you mention or beyond...

Code:
Frozen {
    "blocks" : 81868,
    "currentblocksize" : 0,
    "currentblocktx" : 0,
    "difficulty" : 3509.23063976,
    "errors" : "",
    "generate" : false,
    "genproclimit" : -1,
    "hashespersec" : 0,
    "networkhashps" : 2010662507,
    "pooledtx" : 0,
    "testnet" : false,
    "blockreward" : "24.31452"
}

QUARK {
    "blocks" : 524292,
    "currentblocksize" : 0,
    "currentblocktx" : 0,
    "difficulty" : 3183.84730230,

My favorite is Frozen: very fast, good coin specs, good start and the community seems to improve the coin constantly. The new logo and design is quite appealing and has a lot of brand potential.

Also, Frozen will not be added too list at all since it was GPU minable from the start.

I think Frozen should be added. There are two arguments:
1. It is in the same limited way GPU mineable as any other Quark clone
2. The GPU mining for Quark / Frozen is currently very limited:
- There is currently only one GPU miner available ("Smelter": a closed source project which supports only a few GPUs and takes 10% of the profit)
- Smelter is not supporting pool mining
- At the current difficulties of Frozen the GPU miners report that they find no more blocks by solo mining => GPU mining impossible now
- Even if the difficulty is low so that solo mining of Quark / Frozen with GPUs work it has shown not have give that big gain compared to CPU mining

[FZ] Frozen - MANDATORY UPDATE before block 77777 - Last Chance
by
frambelicious
on 05/01/2014, 04:40:41 UTC
Dear Frozen miners and Frozen users,

500 blocks (25,000 coins, about 4 hours) left until:

    the block reward drops from 50 FZ to 25 FZ (from then on declining each 120 blocks, that is about each hour)
    the outdated first Frozen release will mine ORPHAN blocks!

I'm still seeing some outdated v1.0.0 clients in "getpeerinfo": please update your Frozen NOW!

Make sure you back up your wallet.dat somewhere safe in the unlikely event your new wallet doesnt work properly. Resources:
