I found the problem!
The lack of support on the 3rd VR was due to a damaged capacitor next to it (C19), after replacing it with a new SMD capacitor it works fine again! ! !
Thanks for providing the firmware, I will try to re-flash the machine.

Congrats!
That was a weird one, glad to found it and was able to correct it!

I have currently changed to version v2.6.3-TCH-302. It works fine and the LOG has no errors,

Impossible.
The TCH version is for 2 x 3 asics = 6 in total.
It can not work fully with an LV08 since it is missing support for the 3rd VR.
You would be hashing at only 66% of what it is capable of.

And I have also flashed ESP-Miner-LVXX V2.6.0-1.0.3 and this problem did not pop up!
Someone provided me with a backup of Lucky Miner LV08 V1.0 firmware, and I want to flash it back to the machine.

I have the LM v1.0.0 image available at my website for download as well:

Of course, it is completely in line with teaching practices
But it just can't work normally
It must be LV08 version. It is impossible to use LV07.

I was not referring to you but the LV08 image out on the github might have the config.cvs included for the LV07.
LV07 has 2 asics parallel to eachother on the same VR (Voltage Regulator)
vs
LV08 has 3 x 3 asics in series on 3 VR's.
The log files imo shows that the ESP32 is not able to read certain aspects of the VR because the wrong config was included.

Since the author is already involved, I will now stop communicating.
He knows best!

I have tried to upgrade to 2.7.1-1.0.7 using webgui, but after refreshing www.bin or esp-miner.bin, the webgui and display do not work, but the fan will run at full speed and the restart button does not work.

Did you power cycle after the upgrade ?
off (unplug power) - wait 3 seconds, turn it on again ?

Using 2.6.0-1.0.3 does not work completely, and the LOG will show the following error message.

Hi everyone, I am using ESP-Miner-LVXX from https://github.com/mrbonkerz/ESP-Miner-LVXX

I tried to re-flash my luckyminer Lv08 with the firmware of v2.7.1-1.0.7, but v2.7.1-1.0.7 doesn't work.
After several attempts, I found that only v2.6.0-1.0.3 could work properly, and version v2.6.1-1.0.5 including the new version could not work properly at all.

What doesn't work ? were you still able to access the webgui? did the display still work ?
It has happened before that the config.cvs file for the LV08 was included in the LV08 factory image.
That would prevent the ASICS from getting power. In the log files you would find that condition.
If that is the case, once you have a working 2.6.0-1.0.3, just updating the www.bin & esp-miner.bin from the above github via the WIFI WEB GUI interface, would get you upgraded to 2.7.1-1.0.7

I had to help 2 persons who flashed your factory 2.61.-1.0.4 image on a virgin LV08 with luckymineros.
Resulted in only 33% of hash power, only 1 of 3 VR's enabled.
In order to confirm, I had one virgin LV08 left that I converted my self and I can confirm

It turns out it has the config.csv from the LV07 is included in the LV08 factory image.
The LV07 has only 1 VR gets initialized and you only get 1/3 of the hash rate.
downgrading to 2.6.0-1.0.3 and upgrading www.bin & esp-miner.bin to 2.6.1-1.0.4 works great

Might want to look into that

Thank you for all your efforts

Yesterday I received my 4th LV08 and set it up  with my details and mined for several hours at 3TH without any problems. Usually I run my miners with the original loaded firmware for a day or so before I open them up, backup the firmware and install my own modded firmware. However, I decided after only a couple of hours to install my modded firmware on this my 4th LV08.

No matter what I've tried, only 6 out of the 9 ASIC chips are mining.  I used the same modded esp-miner.bin and www.bin files on this miner as with my other three LV08s but still this 4th LV08 has only 6/9 ASICs working. I have confirmed that all 3 TPS546 regulators are added to the i2c bus and that they have been initialized with the same settings. However, it's the middle voltage regulator that is not supplying power to the middle 3 ASIC chips.

I've even used a full firmware backup (v2.5.1 TCH) from one of my other LV08 miners on this new 4th LV08 but the results are the same, only 6/9 ASICs are mining. When I reinstall the original firmware that I backed up before I installed the updated firmware (luckily), all 9 ASIC chips are mining again!

All four LV08 miners appear identical. Looking at all the serial numbers, my first two LV08s are lower than my 4th LV08. But my 3rd LV08 serial number is higher than my 4th one!

Anyone else experience this issue?

I have experienced the same.
And it is mostly 1 of the VR's that stops working but not always the same. eg VR1 stops, VR2&3 keep working. [powercycle] all 3 working, and after a while VR 1&2 working, VR3 no longer produces output power.

I wish someone would include syslog client into bitaxeos so all logfile could be collected on a syslog server in a LAN so we could see the log files that triggered the event.
That would tell us a lot more probably

EDIT: At 550/1250, I get 28.3 W at the wall and 27.3 W in AxeOS
I provide only 120V AC input to the PSU, making it even less efficient.

At 550/1250, fan fixed at 80% my LV07 hashrate is 1050GH/s, Asic temp is 55C, VR temp =51C, gui says 26.9 Watt, AC measured is 28.6 Watt
At 600/1200, fan fixed at 80% my LV07 hashrate is 1120GH/s, Asic temp is 55C, VR temp= 52C, gui says 26.9 Watt, AC measured is 28.5 Watt
Same power consumption but just over 6% more hash capacity.
Asic lottery ..
Worth checking out what each LV07's individual sweet spot is.

has been running smoothly for many hours without a single issue, 550 MHz / 12.5 V ~ 1.05 TH on average.
I hope it is 1.25Volt ;-)

Quote
I only see a significant discrepancy between my smart plug and Axeos power monitor. The smart plug (which I know is accurate) reports that the miner is drawing 27 W at the wall, while the dashboard only shows 22.5 W. I guess this difference is due to PSU efficiency, with the extra power likely dissipated as heat.

Would it be useful to have an estimated real power draw on the dashboard?
Something like:
Power 22.5 W (-10/15% (editable) PSU efficiency: 4.5 W = 27 W)
assuming one is using the stock power supply?

Thanks for your work!

The only thing measured is the power from the voltage regulator to the  ASIC's.
What is not measured:
The power to the ESP32 (minimum)
The efficiency of the VR (input is more than the output)
Power to the Fan (original fan has label of 12V 0.12amp = 1.44 watt)
and like you mentioned: the efficiency of the PSU (AC -> DC)

Someone flashed his LV08 with the latest greatest 2.6.0-1.03.bin image and his unit shows up as a 402 board:
Code:
"version":    "v2.6.0-1.0.3",
 "idfVersion":    "v5.4",
 "boardVersion":    "402",

Flashed with "bitaxetool -p COM4 -f esp-miner-factory-lv08-v2.6.0-1.0.3.bin"

It is working, but afaik:

Code:
Bitaxe Max 1397 (100 Series)
Bitaxe Ultra 1366 (200 Series)
Bitaxe Hex 1366 (300 Series)
Bitaxe Supra 1368 (400 Series)
LV08 == 1.5 x HEX

My LV08's all show 302 board

Any idea ?

My old overclocked situation:
615 Mhz /1235 mV  -> 5.1  Th/s at 158 watt AC input.

Now:
557 Mhz /1150 mV  -> 4.39 Th/s at 112 watt AC input

for 16.4% more hash power, I need 41% more power

Is this with cooling the VR or by adjusting the freq/power?

Just adjusting freq/voltage.
I haven't changed anything in the cooling as of yet.

Have you tried lowering the VR temperature? It seems to improve the regulator's efficiency, brings the power usage down too

No i haven't
I am going to replace the fans of 2 of my LV08 today with noctua's and put new (better?) thermal past on the heatsinks.
See how that helps, will keep you posted.

Today I replaced the 2 fans in my LV08 with the noctua fans.
Within minutes the unit overheated with my setting.
Put the fans on 100% instead of auto and with default settings it kept cool.
Now I am trying your settings of 550/1150 on both my converted LV08 and my original LV08's
Will compare in about 12 hrs time.
Thank you for the suggestion.

I had bought 2 extra LV08's that I kept running on luckyminer OS for over a week before converting them to modified bitaxeos today.
First one was down less then 40 minutes before hashing again.
The second one was a little bit different.
At some point when I was soldering I grabbed the heatsink and "something" moved a bit.
I inspected and everything seemed normal.
I flashed modified bitaxeos and it started hashing, but only at 2/3 of capacitly.
From the log files:
Code:
₿ (102996) TPS546: TPS546_2 - Got Vin: 12.109 V
₿ (103016) TPS546: TPS546_0 - Got Vout: 1.195 V
₿ (103016) TPS546: TPS546_0 - Got Iout: 26.594 A
₿ (103026) TPS546: TPS546_1 - Got Vout: 0.023 V

₿ (103046) TPS546: TPS546_0 - Got Temp: 53
₿ (103046) TPS546: TPS546_1 - Got Temp: 41
₿ (103056) TPS546: TPS546_2 - Got Temp: 52

Oops, no I had the same as person above.
I took the unit apart again an concentrated on the part that had moved
It turns out there are 2 heatsinks on the LV08:
A large one for the 9 asics and a smaller one for the 3 VRs (voltage regulators)
https://www.dth.net/pmt/luckyminer/img/VR1.jpg
https://www.dth.net/pmt/luckyminer/img/VR2.jpg
The only thing I did was push some of the pink heatsink stuffback to the area where it touched the VR (all 3 spots)
Screwed the heatsink back on the PCB and reassembled the unit.

Firing on all cylinders (I should say VR's) again:
₿ (4553526) TPS546: TPS546_0 - Got Vin: 12.094 V
₿ (4553526) TPS546: TPS546_1 - Got Vin: 12.062 V

So in other words, `24` and `14` are back to normal, but now `7F` is reading 0V.
The interface also shows some voltage in the bottom-right corner,
so there’s at least some power going through.
Is it hashing at all ?

Here are my main questions:
1. Could this be related to the way the heatsink is installed, or does it more likely indicate a problem with the power module/VRM?

Could be a lot of reasons.

To test you should first start by setting default values for freq: 485 Mhz
and default voltage: 1200 mV, save and restart.

Luckyminer basically copied the design of a bitaxe hex ultra and made it with 9 chips instead of 6
This is screenshot of the schematic diagrom of a the bitaxe hex ultra:
https://www.dth.net/crypto/miners/bitaxe/hex/set_of_3_BM1366_in_voltage_domain.jpg
As you can see 3 BM1366 are connected to 5 Volt for the control, but the power of the computing part of the asic is daisychained in series.
3 x 1200mV = 3.6 Volt being fed to one voltage domain.
The original HEX has 2 voltage domains  so 2 x 3 chips in series
The LV08 has 3 voltage domains : 3 x 3 chips in series.
Each voltage domain has its own VR (voltage regulator)
The 7F,24 & 14 is the address of the VR on the BUS to the ESP32 microcontroller.

If you let the unit go "cold" so switched off for 30 minutes (ambient temperature) and you plug it in and check in the log files, does it work
Maybe you can try to capture the log file as fast as you can ? That should show in all 3 are starting up at all or not.
If the temp goes to high it will protect the hardware by setting low fre & low voltage to not let the asic burn up.

Quote
2. It doesn’t seem to be a super rare issue. Among five to ten units, at least one has exhibited this behavior.
It could be chip issue, but more likely soldering issue
Weird thing is that all 3 VR domains seem to be affected.
I would have suspected 1 or 2 but not all 3 in a random sequence.

Quote
3. Does anyone have any recommendations or fixes I could try?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
I’m relatively new to this,
so I’m trying to give as much detail as possible.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
