Re: your biggest regret when you are chasing your losses...
by
gabbie2010
on 20/03/2025, 18:31:43 UTC
I think all of us as gamblers have experienced losing control at some point. It usually leads to chasing losses, which turns into blind betting....a dangerous cycle. In my experience, whenever I’ve chased my losses, I’ve ended up losing more than I can afford to lose, and most of the time, the outcome is not good.

So how about you? What’s your biggest regret when it comes to chasing losses?

1) Can you name a specific situation where you chased your losses?
2) Were you playing online or offline?
3) How much did you lose?
4) And what did you do after that?

Of course that's always the result we get when we decide to Chase after our loses, instead of recovering from our lost will still end up losing even more. Which is why whenever time I experience lose in gamble i easily let it go without fighting back, because I know fighting back will still result more loses. Which is why I always go with the amount that I can easily afford, because is obvious that the reason why most people always chase after their loses is because they failed to gamble with the amount they can easily afford, which is why they always find it very difficult to let go.
I had a bad experience whenever I chased losses end result often lead to loss of funds in my account It happened to me in both soccer betting  and crypto trading, honestly this has to do with personal discipline and control of emotion if any gambler lack those two characteristics definitely such a gambler would chase losses even trading with amount you can afford to lose does not mean gamblers should just continue to chase losses, personally once a lose a fixed amount of fund for the week I close my App at times I do delete the App to prevent tempting me back to gambling again.

Manchester City have full potentiality to get in top four and finish this season in top four at the season ending but they are weaker than previous season and currently they are in a very tight competition with many clubs for top four. This tightness of competition means there is no much space for mistakes and the season is no longer too long with many matches left for them to fix mistakes.

This season is going to its very last weeks and matches that decide ending rank of each club, and mistakes during this important phase will be paid with very expensive cost. Anyway with quality, experience and mentality of champion, I believe Manchester City will be able to handle this task well enough and a position in top four will belong to them in late of May.

They would have the potential without a doubt, the team is made up of strong players, however from a morale point of view i see it with a negative outlook, i don't see them motivated and i don't see how they can get out of the ditch. In my opinion they won't get to the Champions League and i think the coach is risking his job
The battle for the last top four UCL spot is definitely going to be between Chelsea and Man City with Nothingham Forest already consolidating on the 3rd spot, personally I don't think Chelsea who currently occupied the fourth spot with just a single point above Man  City can't hold on till the last day of the season due to their inconsistency in their performance though honestly Man City had their own issue too this season, however with experience and technical input from Guordiola I think they would claim that spot and displace Chelsea, though club would have to compete till the end of the season, Man City would definitely find a way out to claim that spot.

Luis Enrique is doing a great job especially because they got rid of all the star players and he's building a young team. Of course they spent a lot of money for those players but I appreciate this PSG way more than the old one.
I think the players that were gotten rid of like Messi, Neymar and Mbappe didn't affect the team in anyway. For me, I think PSG's resurgence in the champions league has to do with the signing of Kvaratskhelia. They've great players but It's as if he was the missing piece of the puzzle. His came on has transformed the team. His champions league debut was the first leg against Liverpool and he was the one that stole the show. I hope he doesn't get injured because his workrate and contribution to the team will help them go a long way.
I mean, let's be honest: Mbappé was there because he was getting paid a huge amount of money that nobody was willing to give him; Neymar probably at first was quite excited to be there because he wouldn't be in Messi's shadow anymore and he could have been the only real team star, but it didn't happen; then we have Messi who, just like Mbappé, managed to sign a ridiculous contract but he never cared about PSG or Paris, he didn't even learn a little French in 2 years... That's what you get when you have too many big names who don't care at all about the team but only about the money.
I think  PSG owner: Nassel Al-Khalaifi influenced signing of Messi and Neymar Jr. hoping that with Mbappe PSG would be formidable enough to win UCL trophy which had remained elusive to the club for many years unfortunately that setup with those super stars didn't work out for team except their consistency in winning Ligue 1, thereafter Neymar Jr was prone to injury and there was some speculations around that Messi and Mbappe are not on a good terms so all these issues really affected the team with the  exit of the duo of Messi and Neymar Jr. Mbappe later joined Real Madrid, The team is now balanced kudos to Luis Enrique for rebuilding the team.

Re: ANYONE here makes a living in gambling?

I've heard the phrase "making a living in gambling," but I don't know if there are actually people here who have pulled it off. So, this thread is me asking, are there any users who can prove that it's possible to make a living from gambling?

I'm talking about gambling that's not purely based on luck. I'm sure you're aware of games where skill plays a role like poker and especially sports betting, which is pretty popular.

Is anyone here doing this long-term? If so, I'd love to hear your insights because I'm interested in following this path.
I read stories of employed youths in some third world countries that resorted to gambling to earn a living, of course this is very possible considering their local currencies against USD in other word earning some few dollars in gambling amount to a reasonable value in their local currency where the cost of living might might be low thus engaged fully in gambling to make end  met, however I don't that is tenable in advance countries by relying solely on gambling to pay bills and other essential stuffs, even if there are gamblers who are involved in that act definitely few of them

Focusing only in the Europa league would be a great and nice idea but to me the Europa league, I don't see Lyon as threat because Manchester united will qualify for the semi finals no matter how hard Lyon try and the premier league looks tough for Manchester united but that doesn't mean they will lose all the match I doubt if that will be possible as a matter of fact I don't see Nothingham forest winning Manchester united despite there form, I know the bookmakers will pick Nothingham forest, Newcastle and Manchester city as favorite but it is going to be a deceit because it won't happen.
In Europa League I also still believe more in Manchester United's ability this season even though their opponent is Lyon. But in the Premier League I still have a little doubt for Manchester United to win the match at Nottingham Forest's home because during this season the team has developed quite well in the Premier League. But if Manchester United are able to get one point when playing at Nottingham Forest's home, it is certainly a great result for them although not so good for the home team who are struggling in the top three of the Premier League standings.
I think with level of quality in Premier league compared to Ligue1 apart from PSG, I believe Man Utd would have an edge over Lyon, though soccer analyst and pundits would wouldn't vouch for Man Utd to win having consider their present form and injury to some of their key players,  Man Utd knew how important winning Europa league would qualify the team for next season European competition now that their chances of qualification through the premier league is very slim the team would definitely capitalize on Europa league Cup, meanwhile their match against Nothingham Forest is unpredictable from my own point of view any of the team can with that match.

Re: Don't overanalyze the game you bet on.

on 17/03/2025, 18:36:39 UTC
Just wanna share my experience.. based on what I’ve noticed, whenever I overthink and overanalyze a game, I tend to lose more than I win. Since I consider a lot of factors, mainly stats, I sometimes end up second-guessing myself. There are times when I spot a line that seems like a public play or something designed to attract the public, so even if my gut tells me to bet on a specific team because they’re clearly better, another part of me hesitates, thinking it might be a trap and that public perception could be wrong.

Has this ever happened to you too?
Good to know that over analyzing matches result to losses this is exactly the issue I was personally trying to get rid off,  my choice of gambling is soccer betting of course it's obvious there are so many websites online that do post match analysis which in most cases showed a lot of contradictions which often lead to picking wrong pics due to over complications, however after abandoning those sites and tend to pick simple game with straight analysis, moreso I don't just follow public pick blindly I do make some more research to validate those pick thereafter place my bets.

Arsenal isn’t taking this game as a serious game, they already know they are walking away with 3 points. Its more like a training session only that its against a premier league side. Im sure the game will end this way because there are no urgency of play from the home team. As for Chelsea we all know they are rebuilding as a club and worse is there is no palmer
The Arsenal vs Chelsea match which only produced one goal in the first half was a very ordinary match even though it was not that fierce, but Arsenal who were the hosts in the match were clearly very happy with the three points because it has made Arsenal not so close to Nottingham Forest and Chelsea who are currently still in fourth place in the Premier League standings. And because of the defeat that Chelsea has experienced, it seems that Chelsea must fight more to win in the upcoming matches in order to maintain their position in the top four zone.
Both Chelsea and Arsenal needed a win but Arsenal carried the day with a narrow win to consolidate their second position on the table because Nothingham Forest is just one point behind the gunners before the Chelsea match, in the other hand Chelsea is aiming to consolidate their top four spot on the table because Man City is a point behind them a win against Arsenal today would have  boast their chances for UCL qualifications next season unfortunately lost today match thus putting the team with more pressure as the league is coming to an end top four qualification would be tougher.

This EFL Cup Finals is indeed a final because the two teams are not here to play, Newcastle United is as good as Liverpool and as the Matter of fact analyzing based on visitation to the rivals goalkeeper Newcastle has the must visit because the Liverpool defense is very tense and I have seen some mistakes that if not immediate tackled something could have happened to Liverpool. Actually if Arne Slot could win this finals and the premier League his portfolio will be remarkable because I don't think if the last coach had done this for Liverpool. Meanwhile I'm afraid of what Newcastle United can do because the title is not obvious for Liverpool.
So far Newcastle has also won by one goal over Liverpool in the match and now both are resting so Liverpool must devise a clever strategy to be able to turn things around in the second half later. Because as you said that if Liverpool still make mistakes and do not have a better attack and defense in the second half, there is a possibility that the match cannot be won by Liverpool. But if there is a sufficient improvement from Liverpool, I am sure Liverpool has the opportunity to win the EFL trophy today and that will also be a source of pride for Arne Slot.
As it stand now the score line is 2-0 against Liverpool if the match end Newcastle would have win a major trophy since 20 years ago which would a great achievement for Howes though the match is still in 65th minutes this is football anything can still happen because it is not over hopefully Liverpool can launch an incredible comeback, if Liverpool eventually lost this EPL Cup finals that means they had lost UCL and EPL Cup respectfully face with premier league to battle for this season that would a big disappointment for a club aiming to win a treble eventually remaining a single trophy.

Re: Do you take a break when you are in a losing streak?
by
gabbie2010
on 14/03/2025, 19:55:23 UTC
I believe this is a very important topic that needed to be discuss by gamblers here because our actions dictates our future...

sometimes when we’re on a losing streak, we tend to get more aggressive in trying to recover our losses, but that’s often the reason why our losses grow even bigger, and in some cases, it can even lead to gambling addiction. So, who here actually takes a break after a losing streak? Or do most just keep going despite the losses?

there’s a poll for you to vote on, don’t forget to cast your vote!
I absolutely agree to take a break when a gambler is in losing streak at least that sole action would save the gambler remain funds else the urge to recover all losses would lead to more avoidable and unnecessary losses that what I usually do when I lost some bets I just close my App and walk aways after all there are more opportunities ahead thus there is no reason to allow emotions override me to chase to losses infact this issue is very common among addicted gamblers who later ended up bankrupt because of failure to take a break after some streak of losses.

All your predictions were right except for Liverpool, I always doubted Liverpool’s chances of winning over PSG after watching the first leg. PSG totally outplayed Liverpool in their game but were unfortunate to concede in the end. In the second leg PSG made sure that slip up never happened as they equalized Liverpool’s one goal and beat them in penalties.
After Liverpool failed to advance to the quarter-finals, the chances of an English team winning the UCL trophy are very small, now the EPL representatives are Arsenal and Aston Villa, in my opinion both teams will have difficulty when facing other strong teams such as Real Madrid and PSG. Liverpool were very unlucky in the second leg, they only needed a draw to qualify, but the goal scored by PAG at Anfield changed everything.
Yes soccer analyst and pundits might have gave both Arsenal and Aston Villa slight chances of qualification to the next semifinals of UCL, however I have a contrary view because the present Real Madrid squad is as formidable as they use to be except maybe Vinicius Jr and Mbappe other few players while Saka would be back for Arsenal so it's going to be a dicey match on a good if Arsenal are in top of their game they look unstoppable, while Aston Villa clash with PSG would also be a tough match because I expect Emery to do the needful by playing attacking football against the french champion rather than defending hopefully would come out with a favorable outcome.

Haha Arsenal are under a curse and always fail in almost all competitions, in the Champions League the chances are of course very low because Real Madrid is a specialist team that is always in the final meaning Arsenal need a miracle to beat Real Madrid. We are not saying Arsenal is a bad team but rather their competitors are stronger so they can't do much. In the Premier League Arsenal must wait for Liverpool to lose their best performance only in this way  Arsenal  can take over, previously they were waiting for Manchester City and it has happened now.

it is true that Arsenal seems to be under a curse because their fate is somehow always like this. and currently Liverpool is indeed the obstacle to winning the title but last season it was true that Man City was the obstacle for Arsenal to win the title. in the Champions League Arsenal did get a tough situation which of course would be difficult for Arsenal to win in that match unless a miracle happened in that match.

it seems that Arsenal is just waiting for Liverpool's performance to drop but of course it must be very difficult to see Liverpool lose a lot when competing because they are a strong team and of course they will also try to win the trophy this season and of course there is great potential for Liverpool to become champions in the EPL. so it is true that Arsenal will find it difficult to take over from Liverpool. but of course in my opinion Arsenal is still lucky because they can still be in the standings in 2nd place which is certainly different from Man City which is now in 5th place.
In football anything can happen even before kickoff of the UCL you had started to write off Arsenal because they would play Real Madrid of course on paper  Madrid would have a better chance because the odd favor the team  based on their experience in UCL, however I disagree with all those assumption and analysis when the two team meet in the quarterfinals it's going to be a different ball game and the outcome could go either way, I don't see anything special in the present Madrid squad they ought have been out of UCL against Atletico if not for the disallowed controversial penalty kick taken by Alvatez.

Re: Were your parents for or against gambling? How did you start gambling?

I'm very curious to know of all the folks in here that gamble, did your parents gamble when you were growing up and is that the reason that you gamble as well? Or is the very reason that you gamble was because your parents shunned it? I feel like this could go either way. It could also be a neutral stance.

For the folks whose parents didn't have anything to do with it when did you start gambling and why? Do you have anything or any memories you'd like to share of past gambling experiences? Would love to hear
My parent doesn't have any influence on my active participations in gambling, I was a soccer fan and having a passion of that particular sport influenced me to participate in gambling since I can predict matches based on my personal analysis and utilize the options of both team to score, over under goals score etc  it became very easy for me with the influence of my parents and I didn't reveal my  gambling activities to my kids to avoid influencing them, I think at the appropriate time they would pick interest in it provided that they won't be addicted to gambling.

After 24 minutes of last three games of round of 16 Atlético Madrid leading against Real Madrid while Arsenal on level with PSV and Club Brugge conceded early red card against Aston Villa.
A tense end is going to be waiting for Madrid derby while Arsenal having huge advantage they are going to be relaxed with Aston Villa which is also having strong case for going into next round without any serious problem.
At half time now Arsenal leading PSV by 2-1 aggregate of 9-2 obviously Arsenal are crushing to the quarterfinals in next 45 minutes because I don't think PSV can score seven goals to level up, meanwhile in the Madrid derby it's obviously a very dicey game it could go either way now that their aggregate is 2-2 if ends at that scoreline  definitely penalty shootout would separate the two Laliga giants, of course they are rivals and knows how to play each other , however with Real Madrid experience in UCL let see how they would turn the game around to their favor at the end of 90 minutes.

I also didn't expect Liverpool to play like that at their home ground, even until the last attempt at the penalty, Liverpool were really unlucky in the match. Now the Liverpool team only has the opportunity to win the EPL and EFL trophies this season because in the UCL they have been eliminated by PSG and I see that PSG has also started to be better in the UCL competition this season with evidence that was quite clear in yesterday's match.

I was beyond shock to see this side of PSG because since Messi joined the club, team hasn't be able to advance passed knockout stage but it's now better than when he was there and they thought his presence might win them the Champions League but it seems that they are better now since his absence and every season keeps getting better. It shouldn't have been against Liverpool, my mind was off yesterday because I was really rooting for sallah to boost his chance of Balon D'or.

Nevertheless, Real Madrid won the Champions League last season, they won the domestic league and had almost everything, I hope they don't bend the rule for another player because at this stage, Salah deserve his flowers this season after many years of playing in English Premier League and he doesn't cause any drama like other players do have favour. We also have the major league here in Africa that will serve as a reward for what the elite use to rank criteria to win Balon D'or.
Liverpool could not reach the quater finals or semi final,so that may stand as a stumbling block against Salah winning the Ballon d'or.He has really tried his best this season, pushing Liverpool to the point that they are already on the verge of winning the premier league tittle.
And Slot has been very good since he took over from Joghen Klopp who gave Liverpool champions league Titttle.
Perhaps,Slot will concentrate more on winning the Champions league next season once he has been able to secure the premier league tittle this season, but the fear is him losing Salah and Virgill at the end of this season.
Slot possibility of winning both premier league trophy and EFL Cup in his first season as  Liverpool manager is a encouraging start of his career, it is unfortunate that slot wanted to win a treble for Liverpool, though got eliminated yesterday in UCL match against still remain a formidable team having top the UCL table of the new format and gave a good account of themselves, I believe getting eliminated via penalty kick showed how the team fought hard to win, however PSG was the better side in their first leg match but lost narrowly and here again defeated Liverpool right at Anfield to qualify for the quarterfinals.

I Stumbled on a news that "Betting Companies in Uganda Luring Students to lost their Futures" with fake bonuses and promise of big wins. According to the explanation, the time you use in the casino

Anything can affect a child's educational performance, we should not see gambling nas the only thing that does so, too much playing can contribute to poor performance, lack of balance diet and malnutrition in a child can cause a lot of psychological and emotional imbalance causing poor performance in academic, while gambling should be seen as a way of introducing series of games to children to play without money being involved, in other to help exercise their brain for more increased active participations, thereby boosting their brain and academic performance.
The stated categorically that gambling sites are luring school children into gambling definitely it has to with staking with their money in order word that is unacceptable beside the normal age for gambling activities should be 18 years anything less is illegal and the consequences of those kids getting to addicted to gambling would definitely affect their academic performance obviously poor results or possibly drop out of school because some of these kids might gamble with their tuition fee and consequently squandered that money resulting to out of school therefore we should outrightly condemn such act by gambling sites.

In that game, if Man UTD didn't take all three points from the game is because of the last minute save Raya made to keep Bruno Fernandes shot from giving the hosts the win. I won't say the Red Devils were lucky, if anything, they matched Arsenal's aggression equally. They gave as good as they got and even when Arsenal should have buried some of their chances, the no.1 between the sticks, Onana was always there to make Arteta's men more frustrated.
Arsenal are just what you'd call a team competing in the EPL and not aiming for anything else because if they were, they would not have allowed Liverpool to have that much point gaps over them.

My head was getting headache when i was seeing Raya did so many great saves. I talked to myself like what the fuck was Raya doing?  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I was hoping him to play poorly, and never expected how he acted as a miracle to his club in that game. The good thing is that his club gets draw, and lost opportunity for the title race.
I think Raya tried to make an amendment to the first goal he conceded via a free kick scored by Bruno Fernandes, towards the end of first half, I believe his positioning was very poor though Arsenal players who formed their wall could have done better, thereafter Raya proved himself in the match as a very good goalkeeper honestly he singlehandedly save Arsenal else Man Utd would have secure a win despite less dominance and less ball possessions, however I think kudos to Man Utd for defending as well as taking all the pressure yey remain solid and utilized their counterattack perfectly.

Actually I still have a lot of doubts about how much chance Paris Saint-Germain will have of winning this match, because PSG Football Club was not able to win in the previous match. We watched the previous match which was held at PSG's home ground but the match we are going to enjoy next will be at Liverpool's home ground so I think this match is definitely going to be much more difficult for PSG. Even on that day we have to keep an eye on another important match, even two teams of that match are Bayern Munich and Leverkusen. I believe that this match may be the most attractive.
PSG in the first leg really succeeded in putting Liverpool under pressure throughout the match but unfortunately PSG always failed to take advantage of the opportunities they had, which were quite a lot. And Liverpool, who didn't even attack much in the first leg, actually managed to win with one of their attacks which immediately turned into a goal.

For the second leg, I don't think Liverpool will be pushed the same as in the first leg. And yes, it could be PSG's turn to continue to be pushed by Liverpool throughout the match. I'm pretty sure this time Liverpool will manage to win the match. But maybe the score is only a narrow score.

Exactly, psg really dominate against Liverpool, but they don't have the opportunity to score, they miss their chances in the match, Liverpool only get one shot on goal, and they use it well, and they score. Tomorrow, they will play the second leg in Anfield, and that will be very difficult for Psg to achieve victory in Anfield, because I think whenever Liverpool win the first leg in the Champions League, they usually win the second leg as well. So psg need to try harder if they want to qualify to the next round of the ucl this season. If they fail to score two goals, they should prepare for the next season's Champions League.  According to how I envision the game, Liverpool is playing at home and will do anything to win and advance to the next round. If Liverpool performs as well as they did in Paris, I am convinced that LSG will win the match however, if they change their tactics and attack, it will be difficult for PSG to win. Let's see how the match will end.
PSG failure to win their first leg against Liverpool after dominating game I hope that won't turn out to hunt the team, in big match a team just have to take every advantage by scoring goals after taking possessions and dominance of the game.PSG failed in that regard. Liverpool with a goal advantage would make the match tough for PSG because playing the match in Anfield would give the home team more advantage and confidence to defend well and attack with full support from their fans, though it still an open game but I think Liverpool has a little edge a goal advantage and home supp

Arsenal fans are really disappointed, because Arsenal could not perform well in 3 consecutive matches. Arsenal has drawn 2 matches and lost 1 match in the last 3 matches, such a performance was not expected. Arsenal lost, which led to Liverpool progressing further. Liverpool are 15 points ahead of Arsenal, Arsenal have 55 points and Liverpool have 70 points. If Liverpool do well in the next few games, no team can stop Liverpool from becoming champions. Now it may be difficult for Arsenal to stay in the number two position, because Nottm Forest is in the third position in the points table with 51 points, so Arsenal will have to perform well in the next matches and win the match to get full points.

They performed very well in the champions league, but unfortunately when they returned to the EPL, the results they got were less than satisfactory. They found it very difficult to win. While for the next match it might be more difficult because they will face Chelsea and Fulham, and if Mikel Arteta's team doesn't get a win again, they will not only be further away from Liverpool, but as you said that their position as runner-up in the standings will also be threatened. Because considering that at this time the points difference with Nottingham Forest is quite thin, which is only 4 points.

Nottingham Forest became a big surprise this season, because they managed to compete tightly at the top of the standings, something that other teams could not do, such as Manchester United, who even though they had made many changes to their team, but now their position is the same
Arsenal had lost their chances of competing with Liverpool for the premier league title when they lost at home to West Ham that is an incredible result since then the team had became a shadow of former self except in UCL where the club is on verge of qualifying for the quarterfinals, it's a pity Arsenal drew Man Utd and could have even lost that match of not for Raya brilliant saves, this is a match they dominated and took most of the possessions yet couldn't find the back of the net due to lack of a competent striker now the team would end up as a runner up in three consecutive seasons absolutely squandered their chances of winning due to lack of depth in their squad.

If you did not believe that the league is over in terms of who will win it then today should have cleared all you doubt. Liverpool are leading Arsenal by 14 points with a game in hand for Arsenal, although I don't think that even matters anymore.
Today Arsenal really showed by they can not be title winners, they created little chances and were mostly dancing around the field, I think gunners were the lucky ones today because Manchester United had more chances to bury the game.

The premier league is over no doubt and Arsenal is not even worthy to win the league because they don't have the winning mentality, they are always in a rush to be leading the league whenever it start and all of sudden you will see them below that is what they did last season that Manchester city come from nowhere and displace them. However, I don't think Manchester united have a finisher because zirkzee and Hujlud are not a finisher, zirkzee appearance today was zero and even when they put Hujlud instead of making a difference he worsen the whole thing and miss some good chances that would have make the secure the three points.
Arsenal are their own worst enemy because of their inconsistency when it matter most especially in matches they ought to have win to secure a Three maximum points yet squandered those opportunities unlike Liverpool who remained very consistent in their performance week in week out, I also blame Arteta for his stubborn attitude toward strengthening the squad when it matter most,  imagine Arsenal without a competent striker this had obviously been affecting the team in term of goal scoring they always dominate matches yet no clear cut scoring opportunity just like in their match against Man Utd earlier today.
