I'd just like to leave a review for these guys.  The tl;dr is: Support this Business!

I know they're on the bleeding edge and so some hiccups are to be expected.  And things didn't go quite as smoothly as I would have loved them to in a perfect world.  But we are not in a perfect world, and these guys worked with me to get everything sorted out.  I got good customer service in the beginning and phenomenal customer service by the end of the process.  And boy did they deliver the goods.  So mad respect to you all and keep doing your thing -- you're a major part of the bicoin economy and an awesome example of what can be done.

Again, 100% support!

Front Line Assembly - "Echogenetic"
Oh man, been a while since I heard some of that industrial grind.  I've got a friend who's FLA catalog is no joke at all.  Ok, and not hating, but how did one or more of the FLA guys do that "Silence" thing with Sarah McLaughlin?  It just didn't compute for me.

For sure!  I hope I'm not too annoying in here with all my comments.  As you all can maybe tell, I'm a bit into music.

End track from World War Z
Follow me- Nero remix
Gotta check that out.  I do love me some Nero.

Lol, I love it.  Sometimes the natural sounds are the best.

Got some Talking Heads on right now.
Great minds think alike.  Wink

Right now, it's all about the full-on psytrance.  Night time, morning, whatever.  If it rolls around 145 bpm, I'm game to give it a spin.

I had a great experience with this business.

Their site is well-laid out and easy to use, and the check-out was secure and seamless.

And then these peeps go above and beyond with their customer service.  We had to modify a few things about my order, but they took care of it all with prompt and clear communication.  Shipping was fast, too.

And finally, I'm really satisfied with their products.  The Ego-T is a great e-cig and the e-juice is off the chain: such a variety of flavors, and all the ones I've tried so far have been very tasty and have hit well.

Mad props to you all, and thanks for all your work.  You all are to me a great example of making the Bitcoin economy a reality.

I still can't believe they made "Get Lucky".  The Euros must have looked just so oh irresistible.

But oh so many nuggets in this thread!

Got some Underworld on tonight.

What takes two months to get a btc?  Also, why did your last sentence make me think of that Sacha Baron Cohen guy?

Hey, now, I got some Mary Chapin Carpenter on right now because "I Feel Lucky" today!

the best heavy money metal band:METALLICA

Man, I loved Metallica back in the day.  But I feel like after the black album, it just wasn't the same.  And then Lars complaining about Napster eating into their profits just rubbed me the wrong way, to put it lightly.  Although there were some tracks on Load that I loved, and let's not forget about "Whiskey in the Jar."  But which album/songs were you bangin' your head to?

A german group called "Kraftwerk"
They exist since the late 60s. Some call it electronic pop, some don't. Anyways, they where quiet famous in the 80s in some clubs in NY, and they inspired a lot of other musicians.
Even nowadays. Coldplay for instance used a part of "computer love" in their song "talk".

Kraftwerk Autobahn is an awesome album.  They inspired so many things, not the least of which is Techno, which has been described by Derrick May, one of its innovators, as they and George Clinton meeting in an elevator. Wink

Got some Talking Heads on right now.  "And you may ask yourself, well, how did I get here?"

Your account has not been hacked (or if it was, it's not related to this problem). You are automatically logged out after 60 minutes by default unless you ticked the box on the login page that says "Always stay logged in", in which case you will never be logged out unless you click the Logout button or clear your cookies (this is a dangerous option if you are using a computer that other people have access to, which is why this option is not the default).

To avoid losing your posts, it is wise to always do a quick Select All + Copy (Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C) immediately before posting, so that you can just Paste (Ctrl+V) it into a new window if anything goes wrong.

Thanks Foxpup.  I think it was the 60 minutes issue.  I noticed if, instead of logging in from the home page, I log in from

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=login

I can change the amount of time to stay logged in.  The problem hasn't happened to me recently, so I'm a happy camper. Smiley

My experience with these players has been A+.  Their website works well and is intuitive, their communication is excellent (order status, for example, is regularly updated according to where you are in the process via email and in your account history), their shipping is fast and packaged well, and the precious metal is legit.

Can't really ask for much more than that.

Thank you 2weiX and team!

I do tend to "hyper-browse"   ̶ open lots of tabs at once   ̶ so that may have something to do with it.

Put on Dark Side of the Moon a little while ago and had a good laugh when "Money" came on, especially because I hadn't thought about its being on that album when I selected it.

How could someone have cracked my account?  And for what reason?  I'm a n00b here and this account is of very little value.  And to paraphrase a line from Burn After Reading, I'm not worried . . . about the security . . . of my shit.  It seems like more of a technical problem to me.  Especially considering that if "they" did crack my account, they haven't changed the password on it yet.

Welcome to the forum!

Thank you!  I'm glad to be here.

Never underestimate the nastiness people are capable of. All you are protecting is a private key, which I'm sure could be extracted from you by some real nefarious methods...

Lol, that reminds me of this comic. . .

https://xkcd.com/538/

But hey, like Talib Kweli says. . .

Quote
When the cops ask you about your neighbors
Beat on you, threaten to incarcerate you
Till you spill your guts like you a Garcia Vega

. . .you gotta be loyal.  You gotta be strong.  You gotta remember that what finally broke Winston in 1984 was when he was being tortured and he said. . .

Quote
Do it to her!  Do it to Julia!  I don’t care what you do to her, but do it to her!  Tear her face off!  Do it to Julia, not to me!  DO IT TO JULIA!  DO IT TO JULIA!!!!  Not me!

You gotta remember that you don't ever want to feel like Winston did after he betrayed his love.

And I know what you're saying, but call me a cautious optimist: I hope Aldous Huxley was right.  I hope we can create an Island, even if it only phases in and out of temporal existence.

Quote
Conditioned from the cradle, unceasingly distracted, mesmerized systematically, their uniformed victims would go on obediently marching and countermarching, go on, always and everywhere, killing and dying with the perfect docility of trained poodles.  And yet in spite of the entirely justified refusal to take yes for an answer, the fact remained and would remain always, remain everywhere—the fact that there was this capacity even in a paranoiac for intelligence, even in a devil worshiper for love; the fact that the ground of all being could be totally manifest in a flowering shrub, a human face; the fact that there was a light and that this light was also compassion.

I'll go to edit a post or something, and when I submit it, it tells me I need to log in to do so.  Then I log in, and it tells me my session timed out.  And everything I had written is gone. Sad  AFAIK, when I log in, I am setting the session length to forever.  Anyone else running into this problem?

Also, I also understand your concern about not wanting to get hacked — technically, cracked, but it seems like very few people make that distinction these days — or phished.

Does the blockchain email seem legit?  Is the log-in link the correct one for your wallet?  When you hover over it, does the link point to what the underlined text is?

Here's some more info on avoiding phishing and such:

http://www.bu.edu/infosec/howtos/how-to-detect-phishing/

I don't put the kind of trust in Google and Chrome that lifehacker does, but here's more info:

It sounds like this is the kind of email you might get if you . . .

. . . logged into your wallet from one browser (say, Firefox) and then later from another (say, Opera) . . .

. . . or . . .

. . . logged in from one IP (say, at home) and then later from another (say, in a coffee shop).

Or maybe it takes a combination of differing browser/IP to trigger that mail.  Not sure how blockchain.info does things.

Is that a possibility?

My pleasure.

Also, if you trust an exchange, it can be used in many ways: to trade BTC, to withdraw into fiat, to store your coins in an online wallet, etc.

Hi and welcome!  I'm new here too.

But of course, better late than never.  The important thing in life is to believe that while you're alive, it's never too late! Wink But honestly, I think we're still in the spring training part of the BTC season.  There are still many, many pitchers' duels, slug fests, and games to come.  And who knows what the World Series will look like!  And then, there's always next year. Grin

You can post in the Newbies forum, but the 360 second thing is that you have to wait that long after making one post to then make another.  I think all these restrictions are in place to help protect the community from spammers, scammers, and their ilk.

Good luck with your mining efforts!

Is there a list of all the exchanges out there, with ratings for each one?

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Trade#Currency_exchanges

It's a wiki, so caveat emptor, but that's a pretty good rule of thumb in general, no?  Or as I've heard it said, unless you really know and trust someone 100%, then carefully trust, but verify.  Wink
