Dwolla takes AUD, Mt. Gox can be funded with Dwolla.  Problem solved.
i said previously that i dont have any of the payment methods available, that includes dwolla

Then get some.  Learn HTML, CSS, XML, XSS.  There are tons of resources online to do so.  Then offer to code a site for someone, or work on HTML coding.  Saying, "I have no useful abilities" is just an excuse.
i didnt say i have no useful abilities at all, i said i had none which i can offer over the internet. its not my abilities thats the problem, its my internet - its too slow for me to provide any useful services over it. i already know VB and C# and a small amount of C++, but with slow internet im not much use for remote services. i also said "at this point in time" as well.

no one is gonna give u $14
not with that attitude, they wont

yea it builds up over time, and its better than nothing. plus with the current rate being 1BTC = ~$13 a few percent isnt that bad, itll build up. and if your trading a number of coins at a time then its better still.

thats exactly my problem. i have no money, apart from the $13.38 in my paypal, and about $20 in cash. this is why i was so desperate to try bitcoin mining/trading, but seeing as my card sucks and i dont have the money to buy a new one, trading is the only option (if i can get funds into the account somehow)

Code:
Technocash conditions have changed, please read carefully (fee AU$2.00 => 5% of amount, and new bank account number)

You can send funds as Australian Dollars from Australia via our partner Technocash. Due to the risks, Technocash will charge 5% of the deposited amount as handling fees. The remaining funds will be converted to USD at current rate and added to your account.

To add funds, please make a deposit to:
Bank: National Australia Bank
BSB: 082-330
Account Number: 575148030
Account name: Technocash Pty Ltd
Message: ------- (IMPORTANT: this message identifies you and will allow us to credit YOUR account)

It will take one working day to get your funds credited (you will receive a confirmation email if you configured one) even if your account is at NAB too.

You should read through Mt Gox first.... you can make deposits.

Yes I did read that, actually, but I don't have a debit account or anything like that. I have paypal, and ONLY paypal :/

Trading what in particular?

trading bitcoins on Mt.Gox

Your options are:

1)  Wait a month and continue mining.  While it may take a month to generate a full coin, by working in a pool you'll get fractional coins continuously, and you will be able to send those fractional coins to see how the network works.
2)  Take actual money and purchase coins.
3)  Do something to earn coins.  I've done consulting for two different folks here on the boards and been paid 14 BTC for that work.

1: A Month wont get me anywhere near a full coin, it will take 16 months for me to get a full coin.
2: Ive tried that, but Mt.Gox wont accept paypal, and being in Australia I don't have any of the other payment methods available
3: I have no useful abilities that I can offer over the internet. (not at this point in time, anyway)

Anyone care to help out a new miner?

Ok, long story short my computer sucks at mining.
At the current difficulty it would take me 16 months to generate a single coin, so its definitely not worth it. I figured I'd be better off trading instead of mining, then I could save up for a good card. But seeing as Mt.Gox doesn't accept paypal, I have no way of putting money into my account.
What I'm asking is, can anyone please put 1 bitcoin into my account, or put $13 into it and I'll pay you via paypal? (If you transfer coins into it, ill pay you back when I make up to 2 coins)

I'm not going to put the address here to avoid having more than one person donate, or any anonymous donations (which won't happen with my luck)

If you care to donate, make a reply or send me a message so I can confirm it.

45MH/s with just a CPU? seriously? anyways, i could kill for 45MH/s. with 45MH/s you could probably at least generate a coin in a few days maybe a week or two. would you like to swap it for my 3MH/s? id be happy to take it off your hands any time

i can mine with it, its just very slow and inefficient. anyways, something weird happened. i changed the flags and turned on the CPU affinity, and the speed shot up to 3GHash/s then slowed down to 996MHash/s... wtf?
even still, i get nothing in the "accepted" and nothing shows up in the pool website. and after a while the mining speed just stays on one number and doesnt change

I just looked up the tables and my graphics card is bad for mining like you said, maybe my CPU would be better if I could get it to mine at all (more connection problems)
it's an AMD sempron @ 3GHz
if only I knew about bitcoin before I bought my card, then I could've got a better one but now u have no money left :/

Cannot get mining to work (at all) help?
by

Ok, heres my information:

GUI Miner: 2011-06-14
BitCoin: 0.3.21
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS

no matter what i try, i cannot get mining to work. (i always get the "connection problems" in GUIMiner)
i tried bitcoin 0.3.23 but it didnt work, i read solo mining only works on 0.3.21 and less so i downgraded, but to no avail. i also downgraded GUI Miner to the second newest version and still nothing.

i followed all the guides on solo mining using GUI Miner. i set the path, the username, the password, ran bitcoin as server etc. i portforwarded my router to forward port 8332 and 8333 to my local address.

after giving up i decided to try pool mining. i registered on slush's server and went through all that, and put in my details in and clicked start mining. it tells me im getting around 3 MH/s, but nothing in the accepted column (and on the website it says ive processed 0 blocks, no matter how long i leave it going for) it also says "connection problems" occasionally instead of the speed.

in bitcoin i have "generate coins" enabled (but nothing seems to happen) and all it does is download blocks (i read somewhere that it has to download "all" blocks for solo mining, how many is "all"?)

can anyone help me?
