I guess it's easier to bolt them on the non fan end and expensive heavy hardware is best not left hanging.
Or they just didn't think it through.   Wink

10 gridseeds and 1 R9 290 Windforce running on the PC.
2 antminer S1s each with their own 500w PSU, just in case one dies I only lose 1 miner and not both.

Gotta love the smoke detector on the top shelf. Not so confident in your wiring skills?   Wink

Rigs MUST be rated below their actual average hashing speed.  Your declared speed must be at least 1Kh/s below the 24 hour average hashing speed of the rig.
Miavator -- Why is this a requirement to lease a new rig?

If I want to rate my rig above or below actual, what difference does that make to you? You're already flagging rigs that are hashing "below" actual, so renters can see that and make their own decision on whether to that rig rent or not.

If you want to make sure that rigs are accurately rated on the site for some reason, I think the best approach would be to pull the rig owner rating off the site entirely. Just show actual hash speed and be done with it.

You want us to pull providers who don't accurately report speed?

I think you may be alone in that.
That's not what I'm saying AT ALL.

What I'm saying is, if YOU are going to insert yourself into the transaction to ensure that the rig is hashing at the declared speed, then why allow the rig owners to declare the speed at all? JUST SHOW ACTUAL HASH SPEED. Then you have the accurate speed 100% of the time, and there is no need to torture owners or renters with confusing info about rigs not hashing at declared speed.

Can I add some more feedback on the new UI enhancements?

"Caution: Rig operating under declared speed!"

Does this provide a better experience to the renters? I suggest that it does the opposite. Rather than just telling them what speed the rig is hashing at, we're telling them...

1. that the rig owner thinks it can operate at speed X
2. the rig is currently operating at speed Y
3. the rig is not currently operating at the speed the rig operator thinks it should
4. possibly, something is wrong and you should be afraid

So we tell the renter 4 things about the speed, when all they really care about is how fast it goes. That's 1 thing, and without the fear. Why are we making them do all this mental processing and scaring them away from the product we're trying to sell them? That is a bad experience, brothers and sisters.

They want to know 1 thing, the speed of the rig. Tell them that 1 thing. That can be current speed, 24 hour average (adjusted for algo switches), or whatever... but it's 1 thing. And please... NO FEAR.

What's this?

"Provider is using automated-refunds and cancellations."

Do any renters actually care about that? If they SHOULD care, how would they even know what it is? Did we tell them what it means or why it's better for them? I know it was a big feature enhancement for the provider interface, but I can't see how it's a selling point to the renter.

Also, why does it warrant a star? Does using this feature make the provider better in some way?

We get involved in less than 1% of transactions.  The only reason for any involvement was a rash of communications issues from a small number of providers which have since been resolved.   Most of it was the expected vacations, emergencies etc.  So neither support or I are posting from the rented and down report any longer we are now responding via email to providers when multiple tickets are opened.

Overall providers do a fantastic job of running their own business through leaserig.   We have no intention of getting involved beyond working with providers and customers when support tickets are put in.      The majority of support tickets regarding downtime claims are redirected to the providers with no action needed on our part.   IE supports first reply to a downed rig ticket or refund request is to direct them to the providers feedback page and contact information which resolves a large majority of tickets.

I agree with you that we should remain un-involved so long as customers can feel safe working with providers.   Once the onsite feedback engine is complete there will be very little reason for any third party involvement.

All of the above also goes to one of the bigger planned features of customized provider portals so you can remove the leaserig brand and insert your own.  An API would be nice so users like gsupp (http://scryptery.com/) can rent out rigs directly from their own website using the leaserig API.   This is a ways off.   The customization of the provider admin panels are more near term.  This would give providers a much better ability to control their own business.  I know dev will kill me for saying it but something like miaviator.leaserig.net or leaserig.net/miaviator with my own unicorn branded portal for customers (*same for any other provider)
Thanks for the reply. I like what you're saying.   Smiley

if I use teamviewer, do I still need monitor for it or not?

You can control every pc with teamviewer without requiring any monitor attached to them.
In my experience with Team Viewer on PCs without a monitor attached, the display will be limited to 640x480. It's enough to monitor the miner and make config changes, but it will feel small.
