@DenisZabar : thanks for the info. This is a good thing, I think. If we want people to mine this coin, they must have a way to trade at least some of it for fiat to pay their bills. Also, HODL has very low or erratic liquidity, which I believe is not good.
@AmiT177 : Yes !!! I've just hooked my cpuminer to the Suprnova pool with 7 cores/threads and can confirm things are all right (~14 KH/s overall right now). I haven't mined this coin in the last 6 months (wallet still syncing atm) and I'm not sure which is the best pool to use now but I'm going to remain on Suprnova for now and do my share in case they are still considering closing their HODL pool. We need to keep this coin alive and take advantage of the recent price action.
Also, ERC has been doing well in the past few days and weeks and it would be good publicity if "the HODL algorithm" gained more recognition in the crypto community. With such a huge influx of new adopters in 2017, truly decentralised mining could become fashionable again and that only works for the likes of Vertcoin and HODL.
Hey guys,
It looks like Suprnova will not close their hodl pool. (they removed the message that says it will get deleted today)
This is some great news for the start of 2018 =)
Keep mining, investing and hodling!
Happy new year,
Amit
Hi folks,
Nice to see that HODL is still alive. I'm currently refurbishing a Linux server which I thought of using for CPU mining. Is it still so that newly mined hodlcoins get locked for 12 months?
Happy new year to all !
No more locking for 12 months. New mined coins stay in wallet and you can use them after 21 confirmations. Make sure that you have latest wallet 3.0.1.
Regards and happy new year to all!
