LCC goes to 20$
Maybe... And 20 satoshis once the wallet is released.

It's an interesting social psychology experiment, though. How many people are willing to believe that this new coin is worth the same as LTC (taking the 10:1 factor into account) ?

Crazy....LCC is at $5.67 at 1325 EST.....
Now $7.3, this is ridiculous. YoBit shouldn't have opened the LCC/BTC and LCC/USD markets before wallets were available. Anyone buying now is a fool (or an ignorant newbie getting ripped off, if I try not to be mean)

$73 free money per LTC for a coin that has not even properly launched is ridiculous. Dev is laughing at buyers right now and has no incentive to release wallets as long as fools keep buying his shitcoin. Princes are gonna crash badly once he does...
Yep, I tried to buy LCC last night on Yobit but got that wallet error  Sad

Of course I knew it wouldn't work as no one has a wallet yet lol
I suspect YoBit is using placeholder addresses in their internal database. How else could this trading work?
"Market cap" is currently above 4 billion dollars. Wondering how much of it is going to dev's pocket. Also if YoBit is colluding.
You can of course try to make a few bucks once the wallet is released and YoBit starts accepting LCC deposits. Thos who bought à $7.5 are gonna cry when it drops to a few sats/LCC.

I know I'm not the first one to ask but is there a list of exchanges that will support LCC or at least trade it?

Can you show an example of that graph?
I can't really find it.

I could only find https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1317918.msg15209806#msg15209806 which is kind of similar to the ones I had in mind (bar charts) and were generated by dev if I remember correctly. But any kind of chart which plots coin supply versus time or answers the question "when will large hodlings mature?" would be a welcome addition to your block explorer, imho.

Just visited the new Block explorer, which is really cool !

I remember there used to be a page with plots of unlocked coin supply as a function of time. Or was is FreeTrade posting the plots to this forum? Anyways, these plots are very useful to assess the scarcity of the coin and the economics at work. It would be great if these plots as well as some key metrics like interest rate and rewards were available from the block explorer or the FB page. Newcomers could get a quick grasp of the coin's potential.

I'm happy to be back onboard and will bet my KWh on HOdlcoin for the foreseeable future  Wink

@DenisZabar : thanks for the info. This is a good thing, I think. If we want people to mine this coin, they must have a way to trade at least some of it for fiat to pay their bills. Also, HODL has very low or erratic liquidity, which I believe is not good.

@AmiT177 : Yes !!! I've just hooked my cpuminer to the Suprnova pool with 7 cores/threads and can confirm things are all right (~14 KH/s overall right now). I haven't mined this coin in the last 6 months (wallet still syncing atm) and I'm not sure which is the best pool to use now but I'm going to remain on Suprnova for now and do my share in case they are still considering closing their HODL pool. We need to keep this coin alive and take advantage of the recent price action.

Also, ERC has been doing well in the past few days and weeks and it would be good publicity if "the HODL algorithm" gained more recognition in the crypto community. With such a huge influx of new adopters in 2017, truly decentralised mining could become fashionable again and that only works for the likes of Vertcoin and HODL.

Hey guys,
It looks like Suprnova will not close their hodl pool. (they removed the message that says it will get deleted today)
This is some great news for the start of 2018 =)
Keep mining, investing and hodling!

Happy new year,
Amit
Hi folks,

Nice to see that HODL is still alive. I'm currently refurbishing a Linux server which I thought of using for CPU mining. Is it still so that newly mined hodlcoins get locked for 12 months?

Happy new year to all !

No more locking for 12 months. New mined coins stay in wallet and you can use them after 21 confirmations. Make sure that you have latest wallet 3.0.1.

Regards and happy new year to all!

Hi,

I've installed the client recently (v1.4.17) and synching is extremely slow, although I can see 16 connections to the network. At this rate, synch will take several months.
Is there a way to speed up things a bit?

I am still looking at litecoin for a hedge against btc dump, i think litecoin has an inflationary issue which is quite on the high side considering the amount of coins

For short term (until btc recovers) this should pose no issue.

This doesn't look too bad, now does it?

Only 62% vs 78% mined (roughly), that's right, and a factor of 4 in terms of total supply. So this means a bit more inflation right now but I'm not sure it's an issue as such. I would tend to think that any crypto with less than 100 million coins will be considered rare or semi-rare in a couple of years.

It seems quite clear to me that LTC very much underperforming with respect to other top coins in the last few days is the result of deliberate actions on the exchanges. Huge sell walls keep popping up all the time, pushing/keeping the price down, which must be expensive for the whales doing it. So what interest do they have in doing this?

Hi ERC,

I've read through the 184 pages of this thread and this is really an amazing story. Now I've just bought a few thousand coins on Bittrex and plan on holding them for a long long time.

From what I've read in here, there seems to be an implicit assumption that BTC nosediving is good for ERC, presumably because ERC is only traded in BTC. Is this correct?

Anyways, I like the idea of grassroot lobbying and believe this project has a future, whatever the price of BTC. Well done and keep up the good work, team ERC !

-If you're getting this, then we're agreed on the blockchain - as is fuzz's block explorer, and coinexchange.io as best as I can tell.

anything else, and you might be on a different chain.

This is not what I'm having. How can that be?
I hadn't been running my wallet (Linux 64, v3.0.0) for a few days and restarted earlier today with prebuilt binary v3.0.1, did some solo mining, hit some blocks, and yet I'm getting confirmations from the network!!!

Has the hodlcoin chain effectively split in two or more? Huh

If I was running my very own blockchain I wouldn't be receiving confirmations from the network for mined blocks and interest, right? I Don't feel I did anything wrong and would be quite pissed if my coins were lost and ended up untradeable.

Hi all, I'm new here.

Today I bought some HOdlcoin on Yobit but I can't withdraw it to my wallet. Damn it !!!
The price of this coin may be very low right now but it seems less dangerous than ECR where the top 10 addresses own half the total supply. I hope HOdl survives til the end of the bonus period. Then things will be interesting to watch

cheers

Top 10 addresses own 1/2 the total wealth, and that could mean even less than 10 distinct people.
This looks pretty centralized to me... Huh
