- CPU: Celeron G1620
- Mobo : ASRock H61 PRO BTC
- PSU: SuperFlower Leadex Platinum 1200W
- RAM: 4GB
- GPU: x5 MSI 270 Gaming (undervolted via bios flash (VBE7) to 1.063v)
- USB Risers
- OS: BAMT 1.3
- Total Power Consumption: 750W
- Total Hash rate: 2.3 Mhs

- Intensity: 18 / Thread Concurrency: 15508 / GPU-Engine: 1100 / GPU-Memclock: 1500 / GPU-Powertune: 0 / GPU-Fan: 40-80

Very happy with these results each card is getting 460Khs the fan never go above 40% with temps around 55C-65C so the rig is very 'quiet' and the x4 fans have a switch to lower RPM to improve this further. Overall power consumption is excellent each card is around 135W.

Timeline of Matt Carson's datacenter locations.

BUILDING #1: Purchased the building, awaiting infrastructure.

Building was purchased today!
All the wiring and infrastructure equipment arrives tomorrow-Wednesday. Over 400lb. Poor UPS man

Thanks- Ill be moving to a custom made facility here in under 3 weeks.

BUILDING #2: Moving to a better facility here (still in Missouri) located 90 miles away.

Major Update!

We will be moving to a much large, much better facility here by the end of the month. There may be a short down time (its only a 90mi drive) while being setup at the new facility, but we will not be turning anything off right up to the last minute.

I cant answer on the software but I can on the shipping. Looks like the boards should be done here within 48 hours, and then will be dispatched after a small amount of testing to AUS, and me in the US. At least from me, all boards will then be tested again (Not sure how long... suggestions?) and then immediatly shipped out same day via UPS Next Day/2nd Day air [depending on location]. As soon as we know the boards are done, we can give  concrete delivery.

I'd sample test say 1/10th of the boards for a few hours on testnet.  That'd be my recommendation

Yeah I can do that. *might* be able to live stream, or atleast upload a ton of pictures.
I will be shipping from MO. Middle of the country, and if your anywhere close to me Im ok with local pickup Smiley.

And I just want to say guys - Barn has been working very hard behind the screens to bring this all together... this stuff is immensely complex.

Here we are, on November 18th, and Matt still has his datacenter in Missouri at the second facility:

This is why I went from garage > warehouse > bigger warehouse. Heat is nuts.

[snip]

How do people like Matt get so many customers??? I went from a couple of rigs in my garage to a full cabinet in a professional data center with UPS, generators, redundant internet connections, redundant air conditioning with filtered air, etc. Doing things professionally isn't impossible or even that difficult, so why are so many people setting up shop in some warehouse and getting overwhelmed with customers throwing money at them?

Anyone know where to get the metal frames for these kind of rigs? Theyre quite common and i cant find out where to buy the parts to construct a frame, or to buy a frame fully intact. Anyone can enlighten me, id be appreciative.

You can also get them pre-built here: http://richchomiczewski.wordpress.com/home/trays/

OK, thanks once again! I have one more question if you don't mind. What happens if the transaction doesn't get confirmed in the next 24 hours or for a couple of days for example?

You just have to wait until it's confirmed. Eventually it will be. Although I do feel your pain.

Go for a multi-signature wallet. Never trust your private key to anyone but yourself.

Online multi-signature wallet: BitGo https://www.bitgo.com/

Multi-signature wallet on your computer: Electrum https://electrum.org/

Yes, you can, that's the principle of Electrum and why I love it so much Smiley. However, I don't know if it will be in "watch-only" mode or not.

If you restore your Electrum wallet with the seed, it will regenerate your private key and it will not be in watch-only mode. Protect the seed as if it was your private key.

As far as i used it yes. The only thing needed is the key and your wallet is recognized and the labels attached to the addresses and transactions are stored and recovered.

Thanks, I tried it and it just worked like magic!  Grin (remember to restart Electrum after enabling the labelsync plugin)

Though its of course that your labels are stored at a server, so centralized risk. I would prefer having the possibility to specify a file on my computer, i would store it in a cloud directory, and let my labels sync there. I would at least avoid that additional risk. I mean server owners has to give out the details when asked, especially in the US.

True, but the documentation says the labels are encrypted on the client side before being transmitted to the server. So there is protection, it's not like the information is stored in clear text on the server.

Is there any updated documentation on the label sync plugin? I found instructions here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=154144.0 but that seems to be for an older version of the plugin. The help icon references this page https://github.com/maran/electrum-sync-server but doesn't talk about usage of the client. Do I just click "force upload" on the computer that has my labels and then "force download" on my watching only wallets, without signing up for any account or entering an API key?

Hi , is it me or Electrum new version have an ugly icon ? on the bottom when you launch it there is transparant Background but the Icon on the desktop have white background and the icon dosen't like look the older version 2.0 etc.. ? would be nice to fix that even if it's not that important , design a really important factor .

What version of Electrum and what operating system? I ask because the icon seems fine on my Linux install with electrum 2.4. If you're on Windows, maybe try clearing your icon cache: http://superuser.com/questions/499078/refresh-icon-cache-without-rebooting

Re: Unofficial Spondoolies SP20 thread

The power supply is a Seasonic SS-660XP2 platinum, which comes with 18 AWG pcie cables (I thought I wasn't skimping  Roll Eyes). Although it appears the modular connector itself failed rather than the wire. I'm using 2 of these power supplies per SP20, with each PCIe power connector connected to its own separate cable from the power supply. I guess I need to dial down my voltage/power settings from the factory defaults.

Quote
Temp Front / Back T,B     31 °C / 78,74 °C
Fan Speed     100
Start Voltage     0.69 / 0.69 / 0.69 / 0.69
Max Voltage     0.75
Max Watts     288 / 288 / 288 / 288

Power is cheap so I wasn't worried about efficiency, which is why I didn't change the settings any. Seems those are too high for the PCIe power connectors. Isn't the 6-pin PCIe power connector specification 150W max to begin with?

Has anyone seen an entire loop on one of their SP20s constantly disabled?

Quote
LOOP[2] OFF TO:0 (test serial failed)

Do you have another power supply you could try? You may want to switch your cables around and see if the problem moves to another loop.

move the cables around to see if the problem follows a bad cable.

try another psu.

try a middle clock not real low not real high.

0.63
0.63
0.63
0.63

0.635

Thanks for the replies. I swapped the PCIe cables around and the issue moved to a different loop. Time to look at my power supply.

4: disabled (no power to DC2DC)
5: disabled (no power to DC2DC)

And if so, were they able to remedy it without sending the unit back to Spondoolies? I've tried rebooting, power cycling, trying all different versions of the firmware, disabling each ASIC in the loop one by one, etc. I tried contacting support@ and they referred me to their Skype usernames...which is difficult to catch them online due to the time difference and their availability.

Thanks for reporting that... I'll see what I can do regarding the overview/current rigs table. Just curious, what is your rig update time set to? (Settings page)

Right now I have it set at 1 minute. It does seem related to refreshing, because if I let the page sit long enough, the rest of the rigs show up in the Overview list. I just tried changing the refresh rate to 10 seconds, it still happens but with a little less frequency it seems. Also if I just let the page sit, after about 10 seconds when it refreshes, the rest of the rigs show.

As for the hashrate in the top-right corner, I'll change it to avg hashrate in the next 24 hours.

Wow, thank you!

I bought the cryptoGlance Android app yesterday to show my support. I know it's not much, but these aren't my rigs I'm trying to monitor either  Grin

I'm having a little trouble with cryptoGlance showing all configured rigs in the "Current Rigs" table. It seems when there is a large number of rigs configured (about 30 or more), sometimes the "Current Rigs" table only lists 1 rig. Refreshing the page a few times will usually get the entire table of rigs to show up. Example:

Also would it be possible to use the Hashrate Avg number in the Current Rigs table and for calculating the total hashrate in the top right? The Hashrate 5s number fluctuates wildly on my ASICs (anywhere from 50% under to 50% over the expected hashrate on the Hashrate 5s number).

Thanks!

I got a gas card from them a couple of weeks ago. I ordered another one a week ago but the mail seems slow. You have to use internet explorer for their site to work right now.

Well, I never received that 2nd gas card I ordered. I got the first one, but not the second. I tried sending them a message through their "Contact Us" and "Custom Order" forms, but never received a response.

Now their site says across the top:

We are suspending service until we find a more viable way to meet customer needs - sorry about the inconvenience

Sad, they were the only place to get gas cards for BTC

hmm- that seems weird- they have no presence and they dont answer emails and their site doesnt work (even on explorer- which i just tried) i think, if u actually sent a payment, that your btc is gone

Well like I said, I got a $150 Exxon gas card from them 2 weeks ago. And before that I've ordered about 10 other cards from them. When I click the "Bitcoin order now" button, Internet Explorer gives "This content cannot be displayed in a frame" error but if you click "Open this content in a new window" you are taken to the BitPay payment page. If they were ripping people off I don't think BitPay would continue to process transactions for them.
