I think it’s the control board. Remove the data and power connection for chain 5 and switch on the miner. It should work. If it is the case, replace the control board with new one. I hope this helps.

Innosilicon is a fucking joke of a company!
Zero communication with customers.
Only want money then nothing.
After full payment you can only PRAY that they will ship the miners AT ALL.

Anybody had an issue where the miner stucks after a reboot and doesn't start mining?
Web configuration page is accessible and all the settings are ok, but it doesn't start mining.
I have the same issue. Web configuration is accessible but it is showing nothing on status, system and network page and it's keep on loading. Only pool configuration is accessible. Nothing on the pool side as well.

I've had this exact same behaviour with A4+; see this post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2140874.msg26736997#msg26736997
Let me know if it helped you. I saw my miner come up and online but it didn't start mining. Also none of the web status pages gave out any information at all. Just kept "loading"... I wasn't even able to reboot via the web interface.

Thank you so much. Finally it started mining

Great! Now I'd suggest to upgrade to the latest firmware. It SHOULD fix the issue you were having too (by making the file system read only by default). Also at least with A4+ it fixed other things too and multicoin pools aren't that big of a issue anymore.
I will. Thank you

Holy shit.  Shocked
Apparently things can go VERY wrong with these units.

So yeah, one of my miners became almost completely dead. Web interface responded but never updated, nor did the miner actually ever started.
My issue was corrupted .pyc-files inside the control box. So basically none of the numerous python scripts worked and it appears that the whole thing is run by python... along with busybox, ccminer and some web server.... Great!
This will cause the "Error: ValueError: Bad marshal data" -messages while running the .py -scripts.

Well luckily I did come up with workaround but jeez. This will also help with people who have forgotten/lost/whatever their passwords for the boxes.

I'd imagine this works the same with A5 with similar problem.

For the corrupted .pyc files (web interface responses but never gives out any data & no mining happens):

1) telnet to miner IP at port 8100
2) login: root
3) password: innot1t2
4) rm -rf /lib/python3.4/__pycache__/*.pyc
5) reboot

If you need to adjust your super secure password (works the same as A5); login like before but head to /home/www/conf and edit the 'password' file with 'vi'. Vi can be a pain to use for the first time but basically since it's just one line you need to edit... press 'i' and edit in the password you want (default being 12345678). Press esc. Type ':wq!' and hit enter...

Hope this saves someones day. My evening was ruined since I initally thought that the miner is actually dead...

PS.
No need to worry deleting the .pyc files, they are automatically recompiled back in place once you reboot and the various scripts are automatically run.

Thank you so much. Finally it started mining

Have you tried upgrading the firmware to the December 22 version?

See my previous post in this thread, it took some time for me before the A5 started hashing.

I tried doing the upgrade but it got stuck at 0%.

The first issue is: you are mining at Antpool

Antpool
"Enjoy your mining rewards while we take all the tx fees to ourself."

What pool do you recommend?

No light on 1 of the ASIC boards. Tried swapping cables and always this board that fails.

Suggest you try the new firmware: http://www.innosilicon.com/html/downA4/index.html

A4+ and A5 share a update firmware. If the firmware build date is before 2017.11.24, you must upgrade through TF card. If the firmware build date is 2017.11.24 or later, you can upgrade on the webpage of the miner.
Did you get any response from innosilicon? I have the same issue.

These stupid innosilicon people doesn’t understand proper english. I was trying to tell them that my miner is faulty. Red light right next to the ethernet is on,  hashboard lights were off and miner is not getting the internet connection. I told them the miner is faulty and i need replacement.

You know what they replied: please give us the screenshot of the miner status. Without that we can not help you on troubleshooting.

What a dumb answer. I’m not able get into miner dashboard and how can i give them screenshot of miner status.

They replied me agian.

“Sorry for misunderstanding. Can you please explain the whole situation?”

Are you kidding me. These guys took days to respond to my email and now they are asking me to explain the same again. I won’t recommend this company anymore.

Tried the 11.24 firmware on my A5 with the bad ASIC board and that didn't fix it.

I did get an email response to my first website enquiry (the default password had been changed before it arrived) and they just advised to flash the 11.24 firmware.

Stil waiting on a response to my bad ASIC board query where I posted details of the debug (obtained by root telnet).
All my miners were working after upgrading the firmware. And now i got new problem. One of the miners showing red light on continously, lights on the blades were off andethernet is blinking but not able to access web portal. Did reset but nothing helped. Left couple of emails no response yet.

Let me see if I can help you. Did you put the boot image on the SD card per their instructions? If you're on Mac use applePi Baker to put the OS on to the SD card. Download the firmware on to your computer. After you have both the firmware and the boot image, insert the mini sd card into the device and then upload the firmware at the same time. Once the firmware is done, you can turn off the device to then remove the sd card. turn it back on and put in your pool information to start mining. I hope it works for you guys.
Nope. I tried all of them already. The problem is the red light is on that means it’s faulty. And i’m not able to access the web portal

Ya if you can't get on the dashboard to update the firmware it would have to be sent back. Sorry about your luck.
Yeah. I think so. Still waiting for response from innosilicon
