This is a turning out to be a pretty legit project, and already made me some decent profit at 5x-6x

They also got some Chinese govt related contracts and are getting a lot of attention in asia (they were one of the few coins allowed to continue despite recent ICO, many others had to refund contributors)

I agree you would be an idiot to bet 100% of your capital on this or ANY one single coin

However there are a few different aspects of the Substratum project from what I've become aware of (learned alot by talking to some of the admins / devs in their slack which is very active)

Substratum node - will host web content and split up files / encrypted across many nodes. Hosting fees are paid via microtransactions to the nodes that end up serving the content or chosen as the best node to serve the file chunks from due to region or speed. They have a video with a demo you can view of the node interface which shows you can select how much ram, cpu, drive space to the node software, and also schedule it to turn on when your at work or asleep so its not running when your using your computer. Illegal content like kiddy porn would be community flagged, and no single full file would be posted on any one node, so nodes would not be able to try to decrypt any content they are hosting because they would only have a file chunk, not the whole file. The more content you serve up on the network, the more SUB coins you earn which dumps directly into your wallet address

Crypto payment gateway - would be like a paypal module websites can put on their site to accept crypto and receive either fiat or crypto of their choice. The user can choose which crypto to pay with and the merchant can also select which currency they wish to receive

Substratum video - very few details about this but they mentioned they would also have a module or part of their project to build a video hosting network across the substratum nodes

Micro node - very few details about this also, but eventually as more and more computing power is increasing in the form of mobile devices, you could assist with serving smaller content from your phone, running a mobile lightweight version of the node interface.

You gotta get on their slack - I don't really see much updating here. They have constant updates and admins to ask questions in their slack. Or reddit they seem responsive there as well. PM me if you have trouble finding a slack invite, I can probably ask an admin for you and get one sent over

On a side note - this project I feel is very under rated, they released a demo of the interface software that the nodes will run. I was skeptical of this project at first but after talking with 2 of the devs on their slack I'm optimistic on SUB and got into the ICO at the last minute. I just bought more on EtherDelta before the next 2 coin burns happen (1st was done, 2nd on Oct 4th and the 3rd will be right before they get on a major exchange like Bittrex. They have beta coming out soon and V1 by January which is a lot sooner than many ICO's release products

Its been 4 days and i submitted a support ticket, they said they are having issues with the wallet and are waiting on the developer to fix? Its stuck now, I can't even sell them if I wanted to

Burning unsold coins, new UI design, Beta coming out in few months then v1 release Jan 2018 - also several people seemed to have missed that they are building a crypto payment gateway that website admins can install just like you'd have a paypal module on your site. Except they will convert the crypto to SUB, then SUB to fiat for the merchant and take a small cut via SUB transaction.

Turns out they've been developing the backend all the way up to ICO which is why the developers quickly copied iStat menus and photoshopped it to show a proof of concept of what the UI could look like, so people could picture it. They have since brought on a designer though and its designed UI from scratch looks VERY nice and slick looking now

After speaking with the team members directly and gotten to know a few admins in the slack, these guys are pretty genuine and down to earth. I may have been skeptical coming in at first but this investment is turning out to have huge potential. They have a pretty enthusiastic community in their slack also, which btw if you want to join their slack you should visit their facebook to get an invite. They locked it down from open signup due to so many scammers going around (see below)

They cancelled Bitfinex due to them dropping support for US users and maybe some other reasons. COSS.io exchange will trade SUB starting 25th I believe and Bittrex is on the list still but there is a long wait to get on there. Of course there is also EtherDelta but I hate that place... I thin Liqui may be coming soon, and one the admins said Binance already offered so that may also be coming soon. They burn unsold coins tomorrow 24th so the value should rise a bit after that

If the VPN can work and without major latency, slowing down the browser experience, then this project could defintiely have potential

The value of VPN is questionable when there is a corporate company you need to trust, that the govt can call into court demanding to see IP logs and records and such

If the VPN is decentralized though, there is nobody to subpoena into court

Where do we put the block dat file download and the conf file with 2 nodes listed in it?
I put in /app data /roaming/BuzzCoin but when I opened the wallet it didn't sync to the file and slowly sync'd from 13 network connections

Should I sort this conf file with 2 nodes or just ignore it and instead just try sending coins / staking if my wallet is sync'd?

I followed this instruciton

Windows wallet,
user/appdata/b3coin-v2/b3coin-v2.conf

added the list of nodes and saved the text file as that

says 1 connection but not sync?

oh cool, another stealth launch so they could quietly mine coins on their own before it was publicly announced and the difficulty adjusted higher. Somehow the mining pool magically found the blockchain before public announcement and allowed people to mine? Really?

and just because a mining pool "isn't our business" doesn't change the fact that the devs continued to allow the chain to be mined before any announcement. They could have rebooted the chain from block 0 at the announcement, and re-compiled the wallet software to only point to the newly restarted chain so everyone had fair mining since block 1

When the announcement started it was already at block 13000!!!

and yes, they are premine, just because it took work to mine, doesn't mean its not premine. Any coins mined, with work or no work required, before public announcement is considered pre-mine

What a joke, yet a bunch of noobs don't hesitate to waste their time on this, cracks me up

it depends on what field you want to enter. Some are really important to have a degree

But if you know your aiming for a career, where some people dont have a degree, you might be better off investing any college $ in crypto and just go to a community college for 2 yr associate degree

I know many people that just took a cheaper assoc degree and earn comparable $ to those with bach degree and few that have masters

What many people don't realize is these cards are prepaid. Link to your bank account? All that means is you can link your bank account, to send fiat $ to buy crypto, which you then put on your card balance to go and spend, exchanging back to fiat for the final transaction

METAL (MTL) is the only one that I know of that is offering a full FDIC insured bank account when their card comes out. You can hold fiat and cryptos in it.
