Great site. It would be nice to have a way to filter out specific algos/coins, especially NiceHash.

This energy consumption narrative is garbage.

Really?  Huh You have some home based miners installing separate 200A 3 phase electrical services in their homes for mining. An efficient 6 card 1080ti rig runs at like 1200W, all day every day. Thats a lot of power, and just one example. Not even mentioning ASIC miners, big business (data center) mining, or the resources required to manufacture the all of the required hardware.

Just saying, if you had a coin that doesn't require all of that and is more secure, why wouldn't it be superior?

Looking at the top 10 coins, 5 out of 10 are not mineable.

New 3rd generation coins, like Cardano, is showing a trend.

Do you believe this is going to kill mining like we know it?

This is a honest question.

In my opinion, mining as we know it is a fad and will most certainly die eventually. Every day miners are expanding their rigs while others get into the game, this will drive up difficulty and reduce overall profits. Meanwhile, new coins are being created with better technology that don't require mining at all because there is a real impact on the environment via energy consumption and a significant amount of raw materials associated with mining. This cant scale into the future.

What happens next is once mining becomes unprofitable, everyone will start selling of their rigs. The used GPU market will be flooded and NVIDIA/AMD won't be able to sell new graphics cards. Meanwhile, good luck selling your BTC Pro motherboad, risers, and expensive mining frames on ebay because nobody is mining anymore.

My advice: if you are mining strictly for quick profit, get out now, sell all of your hardware and put the money straight into crypto. While its true you can make some nice coin right now, nobody can honestly say how long this trend will last.

Don't get me wrong, I think mining will do well in 2018 but I doubt a 6 card mining rig will be able to do a whole lot in a couple years. Just look at where things were just a few years ago when you could mine bitcoins with your CPU.

At this moment in time, I think if you mine and HODL the right coins, you can make some nice profit in the future. As for myself, I have more than a few thousand invested in mining but I do it primarily because I enjoy computers and building / tuning different rigs, my real investment is in the overall crypto market.

Mine with this in mind Wink and stay up on whats going on so you can look ahead and know when to get out. The key is to stay ahead of the rush.

insert in 1bash before TEAMVIEWER="NO"                 # YES NO
this:
xrandr --fb 1024x768 (or whatever resolution do you need)

works for both Teamviwer and VNC

perfect! you can also just run the command from guake to change on the fly. Working great with VNC, any way we can get this implemented in the next update?

Is there a way to keep the miner screen persistent when using WTM profit switcher? After moving to a new coin you have to resume the miner screen manually using "screen -r miner" to monitor the process. Would it be possible to add this command at end of the switching script to bring the miner up in a new guake tab after switching to a new coin?

Side question, for those who use Teamviewer with no monitor, is there a way to adjust the resolution? I can't even view the entire tab for display options because the resolution is so low. Thanks

Also experiencing this problem when using VNC viewer.  Huh

Can this be done without re-flashing the usb?

Yes, I was able to run the update without re-flashing the USB - just save the "nvOC-19-2-update" file to your downloads folder and then run the bash command from Guake. I'd say the whole update process took less than 10 minutes, not counting the time required to reconfigure the 1bash. No sweat, well worth it.

unfortunately under linux this doesn't work on all cards. It only works on some cards that have single color LED (not all, depends on the brand), and doesn't work on any card that has RGB light. Regardless, I will implement it, if it works on your card good, if not... oh well... lets hope nvidia will fix this in future driver releases.

If anyone wants to test their cards, you can do so without interrupting mining operations, just run the command in Guake to see if it works before setting CUSTOM_LED to YES. Maybe we can get a list together of known cards that work (or don't)? I can confirm these:

- EVGA 1080Ti ICX Gaming (RGB)
- EVGA 1080Ti SC
- EVGA 1080Ti SC2 (RGB)
- EVGA 1070Ti FTW2 (RGB)

I have an MSI 1070 Gaming X but can't test it yet because I'm waiting for a new riser to come in the mail. Been waiting over a week!

The new unofficial 19-2.0 is almost ready,
Thanks to Stubo and Leenoox for their awesomeness

So many great additions and lots of bug fixes.
New dstm zm miner 0.5.6, Claymore 10.02, TPccminer 2.2.2, ccmeiner-xevan.
New and improved watchdog and temp control , and so many more ...
New Coins: Electroneum(ETN), Trezarcoin(TZC), Vivo(VIVO), Pirl(PIRL), Altcommunity(ALTCOM)

New 1bash will be posted soon so you can edit and make it ready for the update.

The update will be released in a day or 2
So If you have any suggestions or requests , post before we release it.

Keep calm and carry on mining.

Not sure if this has been discussed previously but I'd like to offer up a script that lets you dim or disable the graphics card LED:

1. Add the following in 1bash, I placed mine after the POWERLIMIT_WATTS setting:

Code:
CUSTOM_LED="YES" #YES NO
LED_BRIGHTNESS=100 #0-100

2. Add the following to 3main, placed after the POWERLIMIT if statement:

Code:
if [ $CUSTOM_LED == "YES" ]
then
sudo nvidia-settings --assign GPULogoBrightness=$LED_BRIGHTNESS
fi

You can run the "sudo nvidia-settings --assign GPULogoBrightness=100" command in Guake to manually change the LED brightness. Adjustment range is 0-100, with 0 being off. I find that anywhere from 5-10 is a nice setting, keeping the LED's completely off made me feel like cards weren't running. The level will default back to 100 on reboot, so just add the script as shown above to automatically set the value when a new terminal is launched.

Big thanks to fullzero and the rest of the community for creating such an awesome mining solution!
