Re: [ANN][CRF] Cryptocoin Revival Foundation! ★ COIN REVOLUTION ★ GPUcoin

To be honest I'm not sure.  There are some ideas floating around our original thread.  Obviously it has to be a community effort.  I would recommend setting up a group effort to reach out to the original owner (Jaymes) and get all the coins that he has.  I might be able to help with this process.

Hello Cryptocoin revival foundation.  I am web developer of GPUcoin.  Please don't hesitate to contact me if I can help with this process.  I am willing to invest more time in the project or hand over my piece of the project to another developer.  I assume you know Micryon is the dev for the coin and has been really good about keeping it up-to-date despite the issues we have been having.  I would encourage you to reach out to him as well.

I wouldn't count the front-end out though.. hendr1x still around i think..

Yep.  Still around, trying to keep up to date on this thread every day or so.  Interesting that we were voted for the revival project. I would guess if everyone emailed Jaymes, he would send his entire stash of gpucoin to someone.  Not sure exactly what we would do with it but we could use it for marketing.  I assume he has a ton.

why were there so many sites?

When I started I didn't have any control over / plans for gpucoin.net so that is basically a standalone site.
gpucoinstore.com/gpucoinmarket.com are the same site
gpucoinescrow.com : I wanted to be a standalone site (anyone can use it) but its build on the backend of gpucoinstore
gpucoinapi.com : This was setup on a standalone server for security reasons.

Nothing to do with seo...I think splitting traffic among multiple domains is actually worse for rankings.

Hello Everyone,
I would like the communities input on what to do with the websites.  Unfortunately I setup the api/escrow system on a dedicated server which I decided to cancel due to the high monthly expense.  The rest of the sites I can keep running as long as needed.  I set the inventory on all items in the store to zero so we have some time as things are currently.  The only thing I don't control is the domain gpucoin.net.  I assume if the community wants Jaymes would transfer it to us.

Hello everyone,
First off I just wanted to make clear that I didn't jump ship.  I have about 4 btc in this project, 80+ hours and the ongoing costs of running the servers.  My reputation is extremely important to me and I want to keep it in good standing.

I will make sure I respond to any emails/PMs sent to me and help with anything I can.  Unfortunately I do not control anything in regards to the actual operation of the store.  I simply built and maintain the website.  All orders and emails go directly to Jaymes.  All payments go directly to a wallet that Jaymes controls.  His primary email is gpu@gpucoin.net and ceo@gpucoin.net.  I remember he had a gmail account laying around if anyone still has it.  I recommend emailing him directly about these issues.

gpucoinstore.com: the site, and market place is worth something to coin holders.  Think of it as the silkroad..

Lol....don't say that.

Any unapproved market items have been approved.  I set it up to auto notify me now so I don't have to manually check.

I'm sorry for the delay on the wallet updates.  I don't want to make excuses but I completely missed that they were released.  I have updated the main site, I do not have access to change anything else.  If anyone needs me to do anything please email me, msg me on freenode or PM me here (in that order of preference).  It is hard/time consuming reading through all the posts here.

In regards to adding information about purchasing GPU Coin.  I am currently waiting on Jaymes to get back to me about some of the details before I can make any changes.

Well - here it is... Friday: Coin Judgement Day.  Lets see how it goes.

I'm hoping to have an unannounced cool featured launched by the end of this weekend as well. It might not happen till next week depending on how some business things go.

I'm really sorry for any confusion with the contest on the forum. [http://www.gpucoinforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2734] I created the thread to simply save the idea some one told me.  It was not officially sanctioned nor was it really meant to be a contest to begin with.  Regardless, I wanted people to have fun so I offered a r7 card and a runner up prize.  The prizes are coming from my personal wallet.  I sincerely hope I didn't disappoint anyone.

Hello everyone,
I am hoping to be adding more countries as shipping options.  I currently have Mexico and Netherlands on the list.  If anyone would like to request others please PM me.  Each country needs to be manually added due how the shipping carrier works and I can not guarantee that we any more will be added.  That said, I will try my best.

Ok, so you are thinking it will contain information about how to convert fiat to BTC and then what exchanges to use?

You also NEED to make it clearer how to get GPUCoins and stop scaring away potential customers.  I have not looked for awhile but the last time I looked your site and business had serious problems.  There was no link to a page telling a customer how to get GPUCoins.

If you have specific recommendations I would gladly implement them into the website.  I'm not clearly exactly what you mean though.

Hello Everyone,
Thank you for all the thoughts / suggestions.  I assure you that I am reading them and will make sure the CEO hears them.

I just finished up some upgrades to the market place
   - Dynamically calculated pricing (USD->GPUC every 15 minutes)
   - Instant Approval System (sellers can now be authorized to post items instantly)
   - Improved messaging systems (emails go out now + more buttons to message members)

http://gpucoinmarket.com

In regards to marketing, I am with you 100%.  I have been focusing on the web side of things and plan on devoting more effort to that side now that things are up and running.  If you have any interest in helping please PM me.

The marketplace does need to be expanded/improved a lot.  The potential for trade in used equipment is HUGE.  Could be much bigger than new card sales in the coming months and create a lot of additional demand for GPUC.  Think Ebay, minus the fee rape.

This would also keep GPUC denominated sales active even during down market times when miners are selling used equipment instead of new cards.

Well I'm definitely willing to work to improve it.  The current setup has some unique ability (validations / escrows / seller ratings etc.) which I hope will get people interested / provide better security.  I used dogemarket a fair amount and got scammed a few times.

The escrow system (http://www.gpucoinescrow.com) is linked to the market (though you can use it stand-alone without any account) to prevent scams...but not all types...you always have to be careful.

I hate to be contrary but the bid price is the best reflection of the 'real' price.  What people are willing to pay vs get paid...  works in our favor I guess.

Hendr1x, can you index the storefront items to market price?  I want to be able to list in the storefront but not at a fixed GPU price, I want to be able to specify a $ price (as the GPUs are) and have the system compute the GPU price.  Possible?

It is definitely possible but it won't be done right away.  I wrote it down on my todo list and won't forget about it.

Well, something isn't right. If you freeze current prices, I'd need to spend .92 of a BTC to get 5,800,000 GPUC at 16 satoshi (Atomic-Trade) which is $480 USD. Am I doing my math wrong?

No you are not doing your math wrong, but the store itself is pulling the numbers differently (not completely sure where the numbers are getting sourced from). If you go by the store numbers it's far lower.

I have adjusted the pricing slightly to reflect the asking price. Unfortunately I am limited to the api the exchanges gave me but I am willing to do. If anyone wants to suggest improvements I am completely open.

Here is the code for anyone interested : http://pastebin.com/S8Szi9it

And here is sample data from atomic + nxt-e

{"Coin":"GPU","Exchange":"BTC","CurrentPrice":0.00000012,"YesterdayPrice":0.00000013,"Price24High":0.00000015,"Price24Low":0.00000012,"PriceChange":-0.0769,"CoinVol24h":450160.23,"ExchangeVol24h":0.05435348}

and bittrex :

{"success":true,"message":"","result":{"Bid":0.00000006,"Ask":0.00000015,"Last":0.00000006}}

Market feature that would be nice is to send a message to the seller to ask a question about product.

This feature all ready exists, you can go to a member page and click "send message" or go through your account messages tab Smiley
