Couple things:

For the manufacturer to come here and answer questions and take shots (rightfully so...) shows some support of the products that they are putting out. It would be extremely easy for them to close this company, open a new one and sell a new miner with none of these consequences. I am not defending them, because I bought a Zig Z1+ and have had a myriad of issues from day one. Im running 9/30 fw, and its "kind of" stable, but I would say overall I'm not exactly happy with my purchase. Im just trying to point out that at least someone is here responding and creating fw's around some of the ideas that have been thrown around by its customers. Hopefully this means a better product experience for all of us (but maybe not.) We all took a big risk buying from a company that we weren't familiar with.

Secondly, there are a ton of people complaining about the profitability dropping in the last couple weeks. The market is in the shitter. Every single ASIC in the world is experiencing much lower profits today than it was 30 days ago. Also, the more ASICs they sell the more the profits drop. I cant imagine someone bought a $6000 machine without knowing this is fact. AND, if you are buying these machines for just the profits that you see right now, I would imagine that you will have a very bumpy ride through this journey. If you are in it for the long haul, then a down turn in the market isn't a terrible thing. It may drive away some competition, and will certainly stop some new players from entering the space.

Just my 2 cents

Can anyone give me full instructions on how to overclock the Z1+?

Access your miner over the web browser.
Go to the "Settings".
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "Export".
Open the exported file (miner.json). File can be opend with the Windows Word Pad.
The first two options you see are "auto_frequent":"0","frequency":"900"
Set the "auto_frequent" from 0 to 1
Set the "frequency" to 950/1000/or what ever you want.
Save and close the file.
Access your miner over the web browser.
Go to the "Settings".
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "import".
Choose the file miner.json.
Wait till it's done. You get a message that tells you that it's done.
The miner reboots.
Wait a few mins and then check if it's working.

Thank you so much for this.

Once I did that, the admin page is reading the higher hashes, but Prohashing is reading really low hashes, which isn't uncommon at the old hash rate (for this POS miner,) just wondering if they may be some correlation?

It eventually fixed itself.... this frequent drop in Hash rate is getting pretty annoying.

today i tried to setup two Z1s but NONE of them is hashing -.-

tried different firmwares, all the same "

no graph is loading.. "The miner may not boot"

WHY THE FCK???

pools are nicehash..anybody else had the problem?
maybe pendrives are too slow? when i write image i only get about 3-5MB/s...so quite crappy ones

im not stupid. i know how to setup asics but this piece of shit drives me crazy..so time consuming.. thanks god these are not my personal units

Maybe the USB drive.  But when I did it, I found I had to use Imageusb.exe everal times to get it to work right.  I also found I had much better success with the original firmware than the later ones...  It took the overclock setting much better for me.

I also had lots of issues with nicehash, though others don't seem to.  I had like 10-15% stale shares.

I saw a ton of discussion about overclocking these, but Im fairly new to mining. Do you know of any place that has a good tutorial or instructions on how to overclock the z1/z!+?

Go to earlier in this thread.  You change the frequency to 1000 among other changes.

Do you know where exactly? I looked through it and there are a ton of various conversations about it. And being that Im new to this, most of the terms that they are using are very unfamiliar to me. I just want to make sure that if I do overclock it that I do it 100% correct so I dont do any damage to the unit.

edit:
here is earlier firmware
core update = ver. 20180914 (image file)
upgrade file = ver. 20180926 (update zip from miner web)

Hey

I've tried different firmwares and the best i've found is version 20180930
Stable hashrate, no need to reset the miner and overclockings works also good.

Had my miner for a couple weeks. Updated the firmware. The hashrate droops to zero every couple hours. Sometimes it fixes itself, sometimes I have to manually reset it. I have tried Nicehash and prohashing, same issue at both pools.

CAN ANYONE HELP?

where can i find 20180930? is it for z1+? please advise. i have the same instability problem.

I was running the 9/30 and still having some issues.... except they were different issues. I just went back to the 9/30, since I updated a new USB. Working ok for now...

I would like the previous version if anyone has that one as well? 9-15 I think?

I need help in a bad way.

I cant find the IP address of the Miner. I looked at the troubleshooting on their website and some info on this thread. All I get is a flashing red light where the firmware LED is. (I have the Z1+)

I just bought one of these machines and cant seem to find the IP. I looked through this post to see if anyone had a solution to a similar issue and couldn't find it. I have power cycled several times, "reset" the miner, and the LED that flashes is the firmware LED. So, I guess it needs a firmware update to run at all? Shouldn't I be able to at least see the IP on a scan?

Secondly, I am on a Mac (I know.... I don't own a PC, but will go buy a cheap one if I have to...) I was given the latest firmware from the supplier via imageUSB.exe, which I cant open.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Good to know. Was thinking about that one, but don't want to wait for various reasons. I was eyeing 2 other miners, but I don't want to put those out there so the thread doesn't get side tracked.

Trusted Vendors?

Looking to buy a rig or 2 very soon. Seeing a lot of resellers. Im looking to invest 4-6k in a miner. For obvious reasons, Im very nervous to give my money to some company in China. Ive contacted several of them, and they all seem to be very helpful. So, that doesn't answer my question. Ive asked questions about types of PSUs, trump tariffs, shipping speed, etc, and they all have "the right answer..." The least eager of the companies I contacted are the manufacturers of the miners.

I've googled, and this seems to be the most helpful community for this question. I can not seem to find another good source for this question.

Has anyone dealt with any of these companies?
Crypto Drilling
Miner Bros
Mining Store 5111
Coin Mining Central

Any others that I didn't list that people have dealt with?
