I experienced the same issues. Trading coins is pretty difficult. I tried it for a month but it is really stressful. Made some profit in the process but it was not worth it. I made the same decision as the TS and now  I am in it for the long hold. Trying to create my lambo with doing nothing :-)

After reading these posts It seems better to wait for a while. Hopefully these problems are solved very fast. Trying another exchange in the meantime.

Off course banks are trying to ride this opportunity. But history tells us that dinosaurs are going to die because of there inability to adapt. New players are going to take over and a lot of bad ideas are not going to make it. Darwin called it survival of the fittest.

Coinsmarkets is making some progress. they are back online and they provided access to one coin. Hopefully the rest (including MUT) is going to follow soon.

Waiting for Coinsmarkets to be back again. I read that there is a separate opportunity for coins stuck there to join the swap.

This looks like an interesting investment/tech. Researching now. This is a good moment to get in.

That is also my opinion. But I think the adoption of DO is very important. The basis is there with a good community and technology. But that is something else then world domination. We have to figure out how to rise from a community to a widely used and accepted product. I now invest in a promise. But a promise is not going to change the world. Looks like a great challenge!

1. I believe it started with the 'normal' January dip. You can look it up for almost every year.
2. On top of that dip came the futures and the manipulation of the price (down).
3. After that the more political discussion about Bitcoin and the possible influence of the government. That made people loose confidence.

That is why everybody is holding their breath and price goes down.

I have no other choice then to Hold on to what I have. Didn't see this coming.
Buying a little extra is the smart thing to do. Everything is for sale and I believe in Blokchain.

Coinsmarkets was offline for some time. Now the .com is back again hopefully I can move my MUT soon.

Voor wat betreft je opmerking over keuzevrijheid. Ik ben absoluut een voorstander van keuzevrijheid. Ik zie echter ook dat er misbruik gemaakt wordt van deze vrijheid omdat er een gebrek is aan 'betrouwbare' instanties (overheid, stichtingen wat dan ook) die op de een of andere manier bepaalde zaken reguleren. Je ziet dat ik het wat vaag formuleer omdat ik niet wil dat het aan banden wordt gelegd. Er zit een verschil in toezicht en toezicht. Maar regulering op exchanges voorkomt dat er gefraudeerd wordt door die beurzen (coinsmarkets bijvoorbeeld). Bepaalde waarderingen (noem het de tripple A status) aan ico's en/of coins geeft een bepaald vertrouwen voor de consument om zijn geld daar in te steken. Als ik bijvoorbeeld naar Bitconnect kijk dan was het voor mij wel duidelijk dat het om een ponzi ging. Maar heel veel mensen hebben dat inzicht niet. Dat wil je graag voorkomen. De gemiddelde consument is niet hetzelfde als de gemiddelde gebruiker op dit forum. Om echt stappen te zetten in adoptie zul je hier een goede balans in moeten vinden.

Gisteren heeft de 2e kamer een discussie gevoerd inzake crypto/bitcoin.

Verschillende sprekers met verschillende standpunten hebben het woord gevoerd (zie artikel hieronder).

Ben benieuwd hoe hier gedacht wordt over de richting die de Nederlandse overheid op moet gaan. Graag met de nodige onderbouwing.

Zelf ben ik van mening dat de de huidige wildgroei binnen cryptoland niet erg positief is voor de ontwikkeling en betrouwbaarheid van de markt. Een vorm van regulering lijkt dan ook nodig. Ik zie dan vooral een regulering in exchanges voor me. Zoals bedrijven als Shell en Unilever een notering hebben aan de AEX zo zou een cryptomunt een notering moeten krijgen/verdienen aan een professionele exchange. Een dergelijke exchange staat dan onder toezicht van bijvoorbeeld de AFM. Met een dergelijke oplossing voorkom je dat de technologie wordt geremd. Het geeft echter wel een kwaliteitsstempel aan de handel in crypto.


Uit een lokale krant:
"Rutger van Zuidam van softwareontwikkelaar Dutchchain had gisteren - tijdens een speciale hoorzitting in de Tweede Kamer over cryptomunten - weinig woorden nodig om uit te leggen waarom de euro zijn langste tijd heeft gehad: ,,Het huidige monetaire systeem stamt uit de 20ste eeuw", hield hij de parlementariërs voor. ,,Uit de tijd vóór internet. Het maakt gebruik van papier om vertrouwen te regelen. Dat systeem voldoet niet meer. We hebben een nieuw systeem nodig."

Ook Thomas Bollen, journalist voor Follow the Money, beaamde volmondig dat cryptomunten een uitstekend alternatief zijn voor giraal geld. ,,Giraal geld staat aan de basis van de instabiliteit van ons financiële stelsel. Het is gebaseerd op schulden. Giraal geld wordt niet door een publieke instantie uitgegeven, maar door banken. Als de bank omvalt, ben ik mijn geld kwijt. Cryptomunten staan op naam. Dat ben ik niet kwijt als de tegenpartij omvalt."

Vanuit de politiek toonde met name de SP interesse in de munt, die door het nieuwe SP-Kamerlid Mahir Alkaya al 'DNB-coin' werd genoemd. Zo gek was die term niet want DNB, ofwel De Nederlandsche Bank, liet tijdens dezelfde hoorzitting weten dat er al een aantal experimenten met digitale munten loopt.

Hoofd betalingen van DNB Petra Hielkema zei dat een Nederlandse digitale munt technisch gezien nog niet goed functioneert. Met name de transactiesnelheid is te laag. Hielkema: ,,Het gaat iets doen met de stabiliteit van het financiële systeem. Er zijn allerlei vragen die nog niet beantwoord zijn. Daarom zijn we heel kritisch over de vraag of centrale banken zelf al een eigen digitale munt moeten uitgeven."

In andere landen wordt al wel gewerkt aan een cryptomunt van rijkswege. Zo wil Rusland een digitale roebel invoeren, onder meer om sancties te omzeilen. Zweden is misschien wel het verst gevorderd, en introduceert de e-Krona volgens analisten van zakenbank HSBC mogelijk al dit jaar. Het gebruik van cash loopt in Zweden snel terug. Inwoners van het land zijn daardoor bijna volledig op private banken aangewezen voor hun geld. Daarom wil de centrale bank ze een alternatief bieden.

Critici, waaronder de toezichthouders, wezen de Tweede Kamer op de grote risico's die beleggingen in bitcoins en andere munten met zich mee brengen. Ook werd gewaarschuwd voor misbruik van de digitale munten door criminelen.

Ook vanuit de Tweede Kamer zijn daar zorgen over. Toch lijkt de Kamer te willen voorkomen dat deze negatieve uitwassen ervoor zorgen dat 'het kind met het badwater wordt weggegooid'. ,,Als nu de bitcoin instort en mensen raken al het geïnvesteerde geld kwijt, dan bestaat het risico dat we er helemaal mee stoppen", betoogde VVD-Kamerlid Roald van der Linde. De liberaal zou graag zien dat de toezichthouders aangeven op welke punten betere regulering nodig is, zodat ze hun werk kunnen doen. Coalitiepartner CDA sloot zich bij die oproep aan."

I more and more believe that they are not coming back. Thinking of a name for this heist sounds like more fun than all the bitching.

That would be nice! It just went down since I bought it a few weeks ago.
I hope that all privacy related coins are going in an upwards direction this year!

This is a positive step in the right direction. Next step is trying to get my coins out of CoinsMarkets exchange.
