Open-frame is cheaper, anyone can build a open-frame; it easily be assembled with PVC or wood using the width x length of the motherboard. The PSU can be below it, illustrating a type of oil rig structure conception.

Enclosed-frame can be crafted with wood, with an opening on the side of it just big enough for the intake wall-fan/filter, a door big enough for troubleshooting, and slits for the GPUs. Inside and under the GPU slits are cheap aluminum shelve mounts or 2x4s that allow the GPU risers to rest/mount. 2 or 3 more custom mounts for the PSU and the motherboard to operate. Any blower type GPU would be idle for this build. Also, an exhaust fan would mount above the intake wall fan or direct the hot air inside the house, building, fish tank, etc.

I highly suggest getting in contact with Elite Mining Inc. https://elitemininginc.com/immersion/
They are all professional builders/designers and they are all very efficient in what they do. They have partnership programs you might be interested in if you have the means to do so. Wink
Good luck!  Grin

Re: [INTEREST/AUCTION] Magic The Gathering (MTG) Cards ~3000
by

on 21/05/2022, 15:32:06 UTC
I would have interest in participating in an auction for some magic cards; I used to play as a kid, but never really had any cards of my own.

It would surprise me if there wasn't others with a similar interest around here.
I guess it depends on how big your imagination is imho. Building different kind of decks can be fun once you get into it. Players of all ages play, trade, & compete at the local card shops around the world. Artists and developers are still creating interesting monsters, lore, and abilities. The new set Kamigawa: Neon Dynasy for example is a Neo-Tokyo, Samurai, Cyberpunk themed set with amazing land art.
A new format called Pioneer, just came out 2019: https://magic.wizards.com/en/formats/pioneer

not very healthy.

but a lot depends on the pcb board heat levels.

ie 100c on the board may off gas vocs.

have fun detecting it.

quality voc meters are costly. 400 usd or more.

Can you link a quality one?

I found a voc meter for 200usd, it's called a BLATN BR-smart-128s: https://blatn.com/products/indoor-air-quality-monitor-br-smart-128s-co2-pm2-5-tvoc-hcho

Re: PoW coins vs Non Pow coins
by

on 18/05/2022, 21:28:20 UTC
I want miners opinion about PoW altcoins and non PoW altcoins, do you think that Proof of work projects are more reliable than other projects that people raised money for? Which is more likely to fail than the other? It seems IEO and ICO projects die faster than mineable coins, the only PoW coins that failed are bad from the beginning (shitcoins) what do you say.
OP asked if they're reliable projects.  Well which ever PoW you mine, it generates heat. If it generates heat between 80-90 degrees in a room you can germinate seeds fast and effectively. In result you can create transplanter soil blocks for local farmers while supporting a network mining blocks.

I agree, troubleshooting is much easier to target the problem i.e. from overclocking or a bad riser.
But I suggest a B250 with a EVGA SuperNOVA Platinum 1600watt PSU or 2x EVGA Gold 600 W imho.
In addition, power overload causes the wires to melt the insulation that can then lead to a fire.

Woo! Glad you got it backed up before abandoning ship.  Wink I'm not sure what happened but it sounds frustrating to say the least.
Maybe install POP!_OS the AMD version if you want to try that card again. Also consider Debian 11 you can choose what desktop-
environment(s) you want or create a minimal base system and install only the necessary packages & dependencies.
You said "never again with AMD cards in Ubuntu" but I hope later on you can get it to work on your test rig.  Grin

Some distros have all the required dependencies already pre-installed i.e. POP!_OS.

I'm not too sure with AMD cards but try this:

   sudo dpkg -i --force-overwrite filename

Maybe the file got corrupted while downloading or transferring it to a storage device.

Also try asking 'e97':

A possible similar issue was mentioned here:

It's just my 2cents, I'm going based on previous events and market history. When the market takes a hits bitcoin usually recovers first. Followed by ETH and the alts, hypothetically speaking. I like the Polygon project because of the network's use case right now and how it participates on taking a load off the main net.

The Polygon project has a lot of potential, same with Avalanche and Polkadot, and they are all at a discount currently. As mentioned before bitcoin and eth are always good to have imho, especially btc.

Thanks for the info about the Translation Lookup Buffer (TLB) issue.

Driver version 390.144

Tried PhonenixMiner 5.4c from the other thread, tried -straps 2 but didnt work. Still needed ethlargement and got to 37 Mh/s

Using  nvidia-settings  version 390.144

Tried the latest driver a while ago and got really poor hashrate so stuck with what works..

maybe its time to try 4XX?

debian apt has 460.91.03 as latest
I would try asking around the Linux community, it seems like your in the right direction. If you come around any tips or anything let us know.

I like this guide; https://miningchamber.com/gpu-mining/gtx-1080-ti-mining-settings/ and get a https://nzxt.com/product/kraken-g12 cooling setup followed by a shunt mod  Cheesy
