Another 99% of all the other miners found on typically the Google App store are malware to steal your private info and private keys. They can even include clipboard attacks so if you try and send a bitcoin payment it will change the address to theirs.

Reason why there are no phone miners is obvious. They can't compete with GPUs and ASICs. If you took all the phones on the planet in existants the hashrate would maybe be equal to an ASIC or 2. Hence for a single phone there is no point.

I have always supported the op and builder of the ltc miner I still have two of them.

And since I hit a pair of blocks of doge about 20,000 doge. I decided to hodl doge.

On Jan 1  2021 I had 1,000,000 doge. mostly because of these two little miners purchased years ago.

I purchased 10gh of l3+ miners and the op gave free firmware that lowers the watts used on L3+ gear saving me a lot of watts since 2018.

of the 1,000,000 doge i had this jan 1 i sold 300000 at 5100 and I sold 450000 at 18000

a grand total of 23000 usd.

I mined about 260000 doge with his gear and the L3+

I converted some of the ltc that the l3+ mined. to get that 1,000,000 doge.

So 23,000 usd and still 250,000 doge coins in hand all sparked by his moonlander then his apollo.

So to say his Btc miner won’t do well is kind of short sighted.

It doesn't matter how good the GPU cooler is. If the GPU consumes 150W with a good cooler, it is going to put as much heat in the room as another 150W GPU with a bad cooler. The GPU with a good cooler will do it while keeping the GPU components at lower temps (i.e. keeping the core at 50º instead 70º), but both will output the same amount of heat to the room (power consumption = heat generated).

The good thing is that you can configure the GPUs to run at lower speeds to consume less power. This would result in lower hashrate, but at least you won't have issues with the wood in your garage.

This only works with certain games and certain algos, if he is playing some memory intensive game and mining something memory intensive then it will not work. Some lite gaming is fine with reduced hashpower however given the amount of hours that people game its just better off to disable mining completely while gaming and just re-enable it after they are done.


This is true however the average lifespan of a GPU is probably at least 5+ years, usually the hardware gets obsolete. The fans are the most common failure points.

Are deltafans and server cases the better way to go thermal wise? Because I could also just put the rigs in smaller stackable open air frames and enclose them in a custom built tent with a top exhaust cap connected to the vent. Fresh air could be just blown into the room, to use the cooled down air of the basement on hot days.

My recommendation would be to use riserless motherboards with their own cases with delta fans. If you have 3-slot GPUs, you should be able to remove the GPU fans and cool them with the case fans only (I did that with my Vega GPUs). Just make sure that the case is big enough to accommodate your GPUs and that it has delta fans at both sides.

A case with good clearance is the one sold by ITZR with its riserless motherboards (the same that Octominer rebranded). The cheapest would be to contact the manufacturer directly on Alibaba and get it imported by sea freight, although with the current world situation, transportation has become much more expensive.

found two PSU's not being used in the garage (evga 1000 and 850 , gold 80+ model both).

if I want to power a 750W ASIC miner should I use one PSU for 2 hash boards and the other one (smaller) for the last hash board and the mainboard?

also, since they are modular, can any leads be used to power the gear? ie. the GPU/CPU/peripherals?

Mistake 1 - Dedicated OS

Makes sense for coins mineable with GPU mining rigs, but most home miners are using their computers for mining Random X coins that they need to be able to do a lot of other things on. So, any RandomX miner hoping to get widely adopted would have to work with mainstream operating systems.

And let me guess, to get the 10% speedup, this OS is required. To eliminate it would mean to lose the 10% gain.

XMR just forked to RandomX POW. It’s optimized for cpu mining, gpu mining XMR is basically a waste of electricity at this point.
