Re: [ANN] Vesa.io – Crypto copy trading for digital asset exchanges
by

on 21/08/2018, 14:23:43 UTC
Using this platform, all parties to trading on digital currency exchanges will receive an independent profit. As for investors, they will be able to conduct more effective and successful bidding. And traders will simply be able to multiply their profits

Two questions to team members ideally:

- Why the vesa.io site is down?
- What's the token model, from the first glance sounds like passive income? Anywhere I can read up on that in more detail?

Thanx

Grüße urtur,
habe mich erst kürzlich damit auseinandergesetzt, hier ein paar Vorschläge/Anregungen, vielleicht ist das was für dich dabei.

https://coinsutra.com/best-ripple-xrp-wallets/
oder Paperwallet
http://ripplepaperwallet.com/
oder
Desktopwallet:
https://rippex.net/carteira-ripple.php#/

Hi, I tried http://ripplepaperwallet.com/ (with https btw) generated a keypair offline. Then put the address into https://ripple.com/build/ripple-info-tool/ and it doesn't give me any account info. Not sure if it's because it's a faulty keypair or because it was generated offline.

I wouldn't store any cryptos on an exchange, not sure why people are recommending it at all. Exchanges are honeypots, why would you store your crypros on someone else's computer unless it's for everyday trading?

Would like to find a wallet to hodl XRP, if there is no good option that stores keys on my device I would probably just skip it. Trezor doesn't support the bankster coin, not buying Ledger just because of XRP.

Re: How to get bitcoin every days?
by

Great thing about btc is that as it's gaining adoption, and there are more and more blockchain projects out there, there are more and more jobs you can get paid for in btc.

So it's both - the whole industry is exploding, and the btc itself getting more popular in widely used.
I remember in 2013 you could get paid in btc for dev work, little bit for community and communication work, but not much. Since then the whole space totally changed. Since 2015 I saw a ton of opportunities in all spheres that a project or a startup needs paid in btc.

What always worked the best for me, is connecting with people IRL, going to local meetups, and bigger conferences (I don't mean those bullshit corporate blockchain this and blockchain that conferences that started to pop up every day of the year since last year) but a decent ones. Local meetups - trading ones and focused on technology usually have the best people - those who been in the space for a while and know how to see bs from a legit thing, pointing you at good bigger events and also work deals.

Bounties and short term project launch tasks are the most obvious ones. But many projects launching tokens atm would be delighted to get in house social media and community folk. Capital in the space is by far more abundant than skills and knowledge, that's for sure. It is a bit of a hard work to actually see what token projects do make sense economically and functionally and which ones are just lame ones that are going to die. But when you spotted a good one, they would definitely need people to come and help on all sorts of positions.

Another thing I have noticed that a lot of projects that are launching tokens or decentralised infrastructure are not quite sure how to find good community managers. I usually go and check for people on btctalk who managed bounty campaigns that I thought were cool and well done, and head hunt them this way.

I also came across this reddit but I haven't used it yet to post offers.

Re: Is Exodus Safe?? to store your crypto assests for long time?
by
j32804
on 02/09/2017, 19:21:10 UTC
Yeah, Exodus is one of the more secure options out there - I also have it, if only because it was simply easier at first to keep multiple coins. Create backups as you note, and yes, you're able to export all your private keys for each wallet in there. Developer> assets> crypto> export private key

As far as I know Exodus is not an open source wallet, which basically means it can't be audited publically and checked for bugs. I hope that the team did their security audit well, but no one can be sure.
Ok, with open source software you still have bugs. Any software has bugs. It's just a question whom these bugs are found by.

May be most of the open source wallets no one checks. But the fact that they can be checked does make open source ones more secure. If you can't read the code yourself, but lets say have a ton of cryptos, you can hire your own security audit before using the wallet.

Saying all that, I wouldn't keep a significant amount of cryptos in anything that somehow connects to the internetz. For small change the incentive of a potential attacker is just too small to bother with stealing it. I keep small change on whatever wallets have the cleanest interface, as long as they allow me to export keys.

Are the tokens instantly transferable or is there some kind of lockup period to them?

No. Only after the token sale has ended.

when will the tokens be tradable? My concern is ether.. Any feedback would be great!

After the campaign has ended. Won't make any sense to trade them while BET is available at a public token sale.
What your concerns regarding ether?

I invested a little, and was planning to invest more, but I am disappointed in the way that you can not see your tokens show up yet. I mean anyone could set up a site and claim nice things just send the money to this address...  yeah right..   Dcorp did a better job on that, my tokens got into Myetherwallet right away.

Some tokens appear in MEW straight away, some you have to add manually or wait. Token balances are created by contracts, and contracts can have different designs. We have published a short explainer on how to see your BET in Mist and in MEW here https://medium.com/@bitdavy/how-to-see-your-bet-token-6a176e2630a6 hope it's helpful.

Everyone will get their token balances before the token sale ends, tokens are issued automatically, so please be a bit patient.
If you want a detailed explanation about particular design of the contract we use, and why for some contracts you can see the balance straign away, and others you have to add manually, I'll need to talk to the solidity devs.

How does one get in contact with the DAO.casino team?

Their slack is not working nor they are replying to question on Facebook.

Hi, here or on Telegram. We're trying to reply to everyone's questions asap, but it might take a bit of time.
Post your question here.

"Hack the DAO" sounds fun Cheesy

Thanks, did you play it? It's our tribute: entire history of The DAO in a game for the generations to come. Was supposed to be a quick joke for EDCON, and a test, but people are playing. One guy actually approached me at a conference and said "What if I create a click bot for Hack The DAO and will be winning the first level all the time?" I was like "Dude, go ahead, you can win a lot of test BET on testnet, which is very dank indeed"

So there will be no third party or external escrowers?

So far we are not inclined to use any third party escrow service for the development of DAO.Casino.

People in marketing always recommend having an escrow, while legal experts we spoke to say that escrow in this context makes no sense apart from a marketing trick, since it provides no guarantees.

First of all, let’s say a token holder is not happy with the development process i.e. it takes longer, can she go to the escrow service and get money back in exchange for tokens?

We recognise the fact that escrow can be a good way to psychologically comfort some users, but it’s unclear how it can provide guarantees in a practical sense.
An escrow doesn’t have any agreement with token holders.
Another question, is escrow legally liable for the timely development of the milestones?
There are loads of other questions about this that led us to the decision not to use third parties to manage project development.

Secondly, in order to theoretically move a responsibility for quality and security assessment to a third party escrow, this third party need to have a very specific expertise to actually assess decisions of a dev team and either agree with them or not.

Let’s imagine there is a dev team that uses Ethereum, but 3 years from now decides to move some components to DFinity blockchain. Will some escrow service with experience of bitcoin based altcoins have enough expertise to assess this decision? Decentralised tech, blockchain tech in particular develops very fast, it’s unclear how an escrow service would provide this expertise.

That’s why we don’t consider third party escrow services. Saying that, we’re open to all recommendations from community, if someone can explain how it would work in practical terms, and represent something more than a marketing strategy, it would be very useful, not just for this project, but for the community.

There will be a multisig for managing the project budget, and the signatories will be published on the site before the crowdfunding starts.
Since we are rolling out a working MVP before the crowdfund, we think that will be enough. Projects that run fundraisers pre-MVP can probably benefit from escrows.

any blog bounty ?

Thanks, but we already have Indonesian translation being sorted by one of old community members. Where do you blog?
Good writers on the topics of decentralised tech would be definitely great to work with.
We specified two bounties specified: for the game devs, and for the better PRNG solutions.
Will prepare info about community efforts bounties and publish it here,
on the blog and in Slack chan - everywhere, in the beginning of June at the latest.

i think they will update with the bounty soon so be patient!

Yeah, will post more info on community efforts related bounties asap.

So far published just rather nerdy bounties:
for new PRNG methods and
for the game dev teams who want to integrate their games with the PRNG method and the reward distribution system

But definitely would be great to have community savvy people, make a slack channel active, for example.

it seems like a good project for the gamblers, the automatic betting thru blockchain technology, but another project with this concept is already launched and i did the Filipino translation of their ANN, the project is named WAGERR.
but anyways, goodluck.

Thanks. Wagerr looks different: on the technical level Wagerr rolls out their own blockchain - a network of masternodes, as far as I understand it's a permissioned blockchain specific to their project. DAO.Casino is built on top of Ethereum's public blockchain. At least in January this year, almost a quarter of all Ethereum contracts verified on Etherscan were related to gambling and gaming, not it is probably even more. But in order for individual games to become an industry there should be a business logic allowing all parties involved in the industry to interact.

On the business logic level Wagerr is closer to how Ethereum's prediction markets work, since one can use them for sports betting. DAO.Casino provides an automatic value distribution system, more like a decentralised market where participants can interact without trusting each other.

Example: Alice is operates an online casino and Bob is a referral. Bob brings a new player to Alice's casino and want a reward for it. In a conventional system Bob will have to trust Alice so that she gives him his reward for brining a new player, or have a contract with him that is enforceable legally. In a DAO.Casino value distribution system this reward will go from Alice's casino to Bob automatically, so Bob doesn't have to trust Alice. So they don't have to know and trust each other in order to cooperate. This is just a referral component example.
DAO.Casino automates interactions between: game devs, bankroll backers, referrals, casino operators. Does this make sense?

another interesting game plaform  Smiley

Please reserved Serbian translation for me.

Thanks for heads up, will keep your offer in mind, will have to decide with the team what translations we'll be doing.
Just one important thing regarding this project - it's not a game platform, it's a protocol - an automated business logic that any platform operator can plug into, provided they want to play fair - run Ethereum-powered games.
The goal of this project is not to mimic exiting online gambling industry and connect a couple of blockchain-based games, but enabled new business models to evolve based on the cooperation between parties that don't trust each other.
DAO.Casino UI platform is there as an example of how UI platform can work on top of this logic: source of PRNG and an automated value chain - system of rewards. That's why the UI that DAO.Casino rolled out is only available on Ethereum testnet, most of the time on Ropsten.
