it should be also depends on how what coins you are going to miner , what kind of miner you will purchase .
the G(M)hash / power is important for the person who contribute electricity and space .
For scrypt :  http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1312.R1.TR9.TRC1.A0.H0.Xsc.TRS2&_nkw=scrypt+mining+contract&ghostText=&_sacat=0

For Sha256:  http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=scrypt+mining+contract&_from=R40&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=sha256+mining+contract&_sacat=0

That sounds like a great idea.  I love how people are taking current equipment and re-tinkering with it to make it more efficient.

Am i seeing 3 silverfish? Are they daisy-chained? If they're not daisy-chained is it possible with the software to set each miner to a different pool?
In the software, there is a grouping on the lower left side of the screen, is it possible to make the 2 miners appear as separate group and have them assigned to different pools?

there are five miners in total , I connect each balde to the switch , so I am using 10 ethernet cables to the switch .
yes , you need to connect each miner to the router/switch , then you will see they are in diffierent group , double-click the pool information you set , you can point which miner(s) to mine for this pool.

Thanks, it's very helpful.  Smiley

I am thinking to build a 4u case version like this (see the picture) :
5 baldes ,
50-55M @ 600W ,
and put a 8 ports ethernet switch inside .
can mine at 5 diffierent pool /diffierent account /even diffierent coins ,at the same time
it may be a most interesting and cost effective scrypt miner at the current market .

probably skeincoin.
17M coins. 11M mined. PoW. Skein-Sha256. price per coin 35 sat. mining dif between 5-20

--Sheepman solved a block on his Pi2-- Cheesy

For now, that looks like it beats The Ideal Reserve by the SSL and domain, but if difficulty goes up rendering the device useless, the entire device must be considered a cost.  It will take a long time for the hardware requirements of The Ideal Reserve to exceed that device.

So , you can buy some hashing contract at the beginning, then no need hardware investment at all .

Re: CPU only coins to mine?
by

Hi guys, I was just wondering if anybody here is mining a CPU only altcoin. I have 6 hours of downtime at work each day and then it suddenly came to me, I could be mining coins during this time at work! Sure it may not be worth much, but I really enjoy mining and I always bring my laptop with me and use a VPN at work. Ever since the asic days of Scrypt my mining days are over... I want to get back in the swing of things with CPU only coins!

I know incakoin can be stake mined , it is said 90 days 100% return just leave the wallet staking .
I keep some coins , but have not last so long to 90days .it is also can be regard as a way of CPU mining .

So I heard the Silverfish was pretty loud.  How loud is the modified version in db?

the origial version is quite lound since it is 440W ,  modified version is pretty quite ,more or less  as anminer S3+, don't have the tool to test to know how much db.
see the pictures , I am just sitting at 3 meters  away from this five miners , it is OK for me .
