Re: What do you wish you could buy with btc ?

I want to buy or invest in Silver with my Bitcoins. Is not there a chance to do such thing? I know it could be done with Gold but I would love to do so with Silver. Any ideas?  Roll Eyes

Some online dealers accept bitcoin. I know for sure that goldsilver.com does so you may want to try that one out!

I would like to be able to go to the bar and pay for my drinks in BTC. Retail shopping would also be nice to pay with BTC as many retail stores are most likely paying a lot of money in service fees to accept credit cards and pass that cost on to their customers through price increases. I also love Subway so paying for my sub in bitcoin would be awesome!

Re: Should I believe in Bitcoin ?

Just buy 1 BTC to start off with and go from there once you are more comfortable with it. You have $10k so $350 shouldn't be that big of an emotional stress if you lose it. Once you have gone through the process of buying some, you will understand it better and want to learn more about bitcoin.

Re: What Does Bitcoin Need?

It needs to be simpler to get into. I remember when I first looked into Bitcoin it took me awhile to figure it out. The wallets were confusing to me and I didn't really understand how it all worked. For the average Joe looking at Bitcoin, it can seem very complicated so they just walk away from it.

Gas and food are the two biggest things I wish I could buy with BTC. Being paid in BTC would be great too!

In my estimation, usually those "weird libertarian things" actually work! A little bit of common sense would go a long way in today's society.

Police apprehended the famous Bitcoin founder while in the middle of seminar he was conducting for Stop Masturbation Now, a Christian anti-masturbation organization.

“FBI agents just stormed the building, came in here without a search warrant or anything,” Fappy The Anti-Masturbation Dolphin, a mascot for the group, told CNN. “I’m not familiar with this Satoshi character, honestly if it’s not in the Bible I probably haven’t heard of it, but if this arrest spreads awareness of the harmful effects of self-rape, then that is a good thing. But the Paul Horner I know, he was a great man. Hopefully news of this ordeal will bring the much needed attention to the dangers and consequences of masturbation that it deserves. Hopefully, God willing, one day, self-rape will be illegal and people will finally be free of playing on the Devil’s playground.”

Seriously, you really need to ask that?

This is simply hilarious! I guess dolphins are in the bible right next to self-rape.

Bitcoin gave me back the freedom to play poker which the government stripped from me. So Bitcoin is not exactly freedom but it does help to get our freedoms back which is good enough for me.

Just watched this a few days ago. It is pretty good at telling the history of Bitcoin. I learned more in the short time watching this than the 12 hours I spent beforehand researching Bitcoin to figure out what it was exactly.

i was just getting use to using google chrome now i think i might just switch back to mozilla firefox again

I switched from Firefox to Chrome about a year ago. Just switched back last night. Chrome has a good interface and being synced across all devices is awesome but its obvious that Firefox cares much more about privacy than Google does.

This would be very helpful because my biggest expenses are food and gas. Once there is an easy solution to buy these things using BTC then I wouldn't have to worry about having too much fiat!

Re: Can Bitcoin help the indebted?
by
jeffersonian2012

Bitcoin itself may not be able to help these people but the Bitcoin community can if the indebted were to take an interest in Bitcoin and learn the monetary system. If they took an interest in the way the fiat currencies of the world are run then maybe they would become wiser with their money. Plus they could meet new people who may be able to help them plan their finances better and work their way out of debt so they can buy more Bitcoins!

Re: Bitcoin Starter Gift Set for Christmas season --- Thoughts?

I think it would be fine as long as the android phone is optional since I think most people already have smartphones. I can't really see someone spending more than $100 for all of that on a gift. So as long as you have the right price with this kit I think it's good.

Re: why do people agree to pay taxes?
by
jeffersonian2012
on 20/11/2014, 19:05:56 UTC
I don't think people like paying taxes, especially the income tax, but we are forced to do it. People's laziness or fear outweighs their dislike of paying taxes too. They don't want to fight against the state because of fear for what the state might do to them. The most disgusting thing to me is getting my paycheck and seeing how much money I've been robbed of from the government claiming to do good.
