What is a grab bag server?
A grab bag server means we will guarantee that the server has a specific amount of cores but we do not guarantee a specific processor model or speed. For example if you order a quad-core grab bag you may receive a quad core phenom or you may receive a dual processor dual-core opteron. In this example both the servers contain 4 total cores. The advantage is that these prices are lower than what we would normally sell for that specification.

If you want any custom operating system or partition setup not included on the checkout form simply submit a ticket after your order and we can set it up how you need it free of charge.

Why Should You Host at Joe's?
1. MRTG Network Graphs
2. No Contracts
3. No Hidden Charges
4. Free DirectAdmin if Requested
5. Live Datacenter Camera
6. We take Bitcoin
7. And.. a new friend in the datacenter business!

Re: Hosting BFL miners at J Morgan & Associates?
by

I think the mixup might be in the phrasing of "work with" there is a difference between "work with" and "work for" I work with butterfly labs to try and help people get there miners going but besides that we are unaffiliated. Doe's that make sense. Also I want to add that it is possible that Josh had equipment in multiple facilities in KC hence the different addresses listed. Its hard to find hosts that will colo something other than your typical 1-4U server and even if they would they might limit how many they would allow. It seems much more feasible to me that Josh had a couple different facilities that he would colo the equipment at. I want to say again this is just speculation on my part.

Re: Hosting BFL miners at J Morgan & Associates?

Hello,

I wanted to clarify some things that are being said or at least insinuated here. My name is Joe Morgan I own and operate both Joe's Datacenter, LLC and J Morgan & Associates, LLC (aka kcmocolo.com). They are separate companies with separate facilities but I use one address for mailing. I am the SOLE owner of both company's and have no affiliation with Butterfly Labs other than they are sending their customers to us for hosting as they decided not to do it themselves. I cannot speak for BFL or Josh as to where he has hosted in the past but I will say that almost anything hosted in Kansas City is going to be in one of three or four buildings downtown all within a couple blocks of eachother. You could find hundreds of hosting companies that show one of those buildings as their address or as a place they host and they are still completely different companies. Josh has never been an employee or part owner of any of my companies and is not on the payroll. Aaron owns another datacenter in Kansas City and we have both had facilities in the same buildings but otherwise we are unaffiliated as well. KCIX that was mentioned is a peering exchange which the entire point of peering exchanges is that local close by data centers can run a network cable between eachother to save bandwidth on outside carriers when the traffic was going between them anyway. As for Morgansites.com that is my parents web hosting business and they were in fact my first customer and hosting their server was how I got into the hosting business. Not sure the relevance. My father ran for political office this last year and I managed a phone system for him and purchased that phone number for that purpose. Now that his campaign is over I still had the number and used it for this company. I don't see what the relevance of my parents or the phone number has to do with anything other than Phinnaeus trying to point out how good his Google skills are. I say that somewhat Joking and don't mean to offend but for someone telling people to do the research because xyz then not actually doing the research as to if xyz are true makes you a hypocrite. Phinnaeus please feel free to call me Telephone: +1 816 335 4115 and I will do my best to help clarify whatever you need. I would appreciate if you would give me the chance to explain my situation before trying to scare potential customers away when you have never done business with me and have little knowledge of how my company actually operates.

Thanks,
Joe Morgan

Sorry for the late response but  I am Joe Morgan not Aaron Wendel. I know Aaron and in fact started hosting with Wholesale Internet in 2007. I'm not sure we really look that much alike. Maybe someone has too much time on their hands Wink.

I sent an e-mail to support on Oct 13 (6 days ago) and still have not gotten any replies. My stolen BTC does not show on my account so I'm worried and asked about it and have heard nothing.  Roll Eyes

I would prefer he actually say it than just assume it. I'm not asking for a specific on how or when just a simple "and repay stolen BTC" would be enough.

He also said he doesn't want to spread misinformation before anything is 100% assured.
I'm certain he's trying his hardest to get the site back operational and to pay back all that was lost. He's simply covering his ass just a little (since we all know how people can get on these forums).

So basically I need the help of the community to get bitfloor up and running but I don't feel comfortable giving you even the slightest hint at if we plan to paying the stolen bitcoin back. I'm ok with him not being specific to how much or how long or any of those kind of details a simple "make right what was lost" would be enough. There is a difference between not trying to spread misinformation and avoiding something altogether. The response from the community should be we don't feel comfortable supporting you until you have made it clear accounts will be repaid.

You need to read between the lines in his post.  That's exactly what he's working on figuring out when he says "finding a way to proceed".

I have been in contact with various individuals discussing the future of bitfloor and finding a way to proceed. Updates cannot be posted until a decision is reached as I do not wish to spread misinformation. I can say that all my efforts are focused on keeping bitfloor alive. It takes time to speak to all of the interested parties and come up with a solution.

Any plan to re-pay the lost bitcoin? I see this as being an important way to regain the trust of the community. There are other exchanges that have not been compromised that work well, what incentive do I have with going with an exchange that lost so much BTC and has made 0 claims of repayment. I just don't see it being wise for the community to help bitfloor out until repayment is discussed. If there is no plan to repay lost BTC then the community should not back the rebuilding of bitfloor.

Is it just me or was there a part missing from his update about how people owed BTC would be repaid? I'm not sure its a good idea for the community to back someone who can leave unencrypted wallets on the server and when it gets hacked say "oops my bad. Your bitcoins are gone but good news you can deposit more soon and hope I do a better job securing them this time."

it seems likely that BTC sent in AFTER the hack announcement may be set aside in an eventual settlement

What about the people who don't go here. Shouldn't the site have a warning or an e-mail blast? This is kinda like lets post on bitcointalk and hope everyone knows to go read there before sending or god forbid an automated system since they advertized having api for that very reason.

The IPO should be for about 300% of the losses so infrastructure can be improved from the start, and at least a partner can be hired (a 1-man exchange is asking for trouble). It all depends on how much do people value a properly operating Bitfloor in the long term. I think 75K+ is fair, maybe 100K+.
+1
I think Bitfloor has enormous growth potential. My opinion is that Bitfloor is vastly technologically superior to Mt. Gox, modulo today's failing. I suspect, with a proper treatise on the security failure and security architecture plan for moving forward, Bitfloor could raise enough in an IPO to pay everyone back and resume operations with an improved platform.

So he has no responsibility and anyone who did business with him is just an idiot? I understand that I took a risk with bitfloor regardless you dont think its crap the HE STILL HAS NOTHING on the site about not sending payments to hacked accounts? I know anyone who sends money there is dumb and taking a huge risk but regardless he has zero responsibility in your eyes?

He has a responsibility to let people know not to send bitcoin to hacked addresses. We will be back could be server maintenance ect.... I have checked the site all day and nothing so he waiting for how many trades to take place or api trades to take place before starting a thread on bitcointalk.org honestly I think bitfloor is the JR on this one. I'm in business to make money taking a thousand dollar hit on one of the most used trading sites can I really be blamed as feeling uneasy on my fourth bitcoin payment for my services being lost due to negligence.

I go to the site and it reads this (which it still reads)

Bitfloor Website
Is currently offline.

It will be back shortly.

I check back later and its up. So I sent 136 coin to my deposit address.

Anyone else think the message on the site should read

DO NOT SEND ANY COIN TO US WE HAVE BEEN HACKED!!!!!

or something of that nature. I only keep my money in coin for less than 24 hours before converting it and got screwed. Guess I stop taking bitcoin cause its too risky.

The amount of Money spent on these custom rigs is much higher than on GPU's. In my opinion the real saving is in management, space, power, and cooling. The cost to return investment will be about the same minus the things previously listed.

I own and operate a datacenter and want to advertize special colo offers specifically for bitcoin miners. This will help the entire community as the places that will offer colo with the power requirements needed by miners are hard to come by.
