yes I took it back, I changed ethernet cable and socket is clear no dirt or dust , my gear is new I just used it for 50 days,
yesterday I tried with Braiins os with SD card  , then i was able to login to interface, but I always prefer to use original firmware from manufacturer

my modem default is 192.168.1.1
my network is simple - miner- hubswitch - modem
I think it more of a control board nand bcz none of LEDs are working , and when pressing ip finder or factory reset nothing happens even LEDs not light up

Try only powering up the control board with no hashboards attached, if you can get into it then flash the s9j firmware onto it.

If not attempt to flash it again, it might not have worked the first time.

From the first time I already disconnected every other sockets, even once i tried without Ethernet wire , not getting any better its same

Try to find it using an network scanner such as angry ip or nmap.

Alternative use the sdcard to boot Braiins OS, and use (or install) that instead.

I tried IP scanner , it doesnt show anything

I will try with Braiins OS

If you shut down the miner while the leds are blinking there is a possibility that flashing process is not successfully flashed it means the program still corrupted.

What you need to do is flash it again with SD card and let the led red and green blinking until the miner will automatically restart itself and led stops blinking.

Now you can take back the jumper and power on the miner for 5 minutes perform this hard reset. Hold IPreporter/Reset button for 15 seconds then release then check it again with angry IP or any scanner to find the miner's IP.

But in bitmain site it mentioned when LEDs are blinking it means that firmware is loaded , but next step it has written power on control board although it didn't mention when to turn it off  does it mean that i should wait until control board itself turns off?

As bitmain instructed I downloaded  T9+ firmware  ,copied files to  sd card inserted it  then  I shifted jumper number  4 and turned on the control board
after both green and red led were  blinking as it should ,  I turned off control board put jumper 4 to default place ,and remove sd card . but now I can not connect to miner interface i tried to use ip scanner , or ip reporter but couldn't find IP address of miner, what should i do ?

I was using firmware from manufacturer since 2 months ago and it was totally ok untill I tried to add 3 more second hand M3 (seems they have infected my farm - ). these pools are not default ones ( default workers was microbt directing to f2pool )  and as  " efudd " mentioned this user (https://www.nicehash.com/miner/3CJgXokLQrRCQcEoftS7MbPDSXhXpX6P55)  on nicehash seems to be hijacker.

How can I clean this virus? Do you think if I unplug all of the miners from network and start updating their firmware with sd card will work ?

Welp, these malware authors are getting paid.

https://www.nicehash.com/miner/3CJgXokLQrRCQcEoftS7MbPDSXhXpX6P55

They have this running on equihash, sha256 and scrypts.... it's designed to infiltrate, identify miner type (guesses) and then modify the config and mine for them. Based on the addresses payout of $780usd/day at the time of this writing, I'd say it is working for them. :/

net-net, don't install random firmware.

Hello Dear efudd
recently I have bought 3 second hand miners (m3 ) after I connected them to my farm everything messed up, I tried installing firmware which I have been using last 2 months without any problem , but it didnt work , even I isolated each miner ( turn off all others ) and install firmware using whatsminer then turn off updated miner  , and went to the next miner... but this didn't work too , Is it possible that my lap top is infected? or maybe i should use sd card to flash them ? how can I solve this problem ?

Do those 192.168.2.xxx addresses belong to other computers that are on your network that may be trying to make child connections? If those are your computers then those are what need to be checked for viruses because to me it looks like an outside device is trying to connect with the miner - not the miner initiating the connections.

in fact they are other miners on the network .  Cry Cry. I am really tired of this I have tried everything.

Edit: I think it is normal for miners to make child connections, bcz i have seen it on normal working miners log but i dont know what is it for ? and here the problem is it can not authenticate.

Looks like you are hi-jacked...

I think you mean to create kind of quarantine , I tried to do so by turning off all devices on network except one which is being updated by firmware using whatsminer tool maybe I should try doing it with sd card do u think using sd card is better?

I am not using nicehash , i dont know where those pool addresses come from.

what is child connection on cgminer
by

Hello guys, Does anybody knows what is the "child connection" on cgminer system log ?

recently I have faced a problem , my miners ( whatsminer M3 v2 ) after 5, 6 hours of working, stop minning ( first 5 or 6 out of 60 stop , then gradually all of them stop working except 3 or 4 )  - I thought maybe it is infected by virus but its not hashing at all I touched the miner body It is cold ( impossible for M3 to be cold while mining ).

ambient  temp is ok , internet connection is ok , when I go to the administrator panel all parameters are empty , here is screen shot: http://i68.tinypic.com/33a4hs2.jpg.

I use Whatsminer tool to install firmware again then it will be ok and work for another 5 ,6 hours. I believe there is a problem with  my network but I don't really understand what is it ?  I tried connecting my hub-switch directly to modem or  separating half of miners to connect to another modem.

so i Checked system log codes I think here is the problem if u can approve it and come up with any solution ?

1. I think miner is trying to make a child connection but it cant ! what is child connection ?

2. those nicehash pool addresses I don't know where they come from at all  (doesn't belong to me)!! (  Can it be virus ? to be sure to clean the virus if there is one , I turned off all miners except one ,install its firmware then turn off it then go to the next miner repeating process )
here is the codes.

Well, since I have access to cheap electricity, efficiency is the last thing I care about.

Importat factors for me are  being cheap and having higher TH as well as reliability and durability inorder to have better ROR , that is why I am not thinking about M20 , M10 or cutting edge miners, with same amount of  money I can buy few low efficiency miners which will sum up in more TH just I need more space to put them  which I am ok with it now.

That price seems to be double the going rate for S9s...

Most of second hand miners are supplied by Chinese and As the BTC price rises they increase the price. Today I inquiry from China for 20 second hand, S9s  , 13.5 TH (30 days warranty remains) including psu for 246 $ without shipping cost.

What power cable is needed for 48 miners?

If you are asking for cable which connects miner to the power , normal computer cables ( 2 x 1.5 ) I think will do but if you are asking for wiring of whole farm it depends on many factors you better ask an expert

If you underclock them with Braiins OS you can even add more of them. By raising efficiency you can easily lower that consumption to under 820w each (@10T)... You could put 48 S9s, maybe some more if a few have damaged boards.

480THs vs 390THs using the same 40kW...

Make sure you check more sellers, i have seen S9s at $150 each...

PLUS, under-clocking tends to make them run cooler and last longer.

This is good idea , but as far as I can guess OP is really concerned with ROI or ROR   so I did want to do some calculations, just take a look at the table below I tried to put some numbers to make it more understandable.

Note that the green columns are same for both quantity so no matter what you put result will be same,   as well as BTC price ( i assumed 5950 $ you can put whatever you want ).

so u can see 29 pcs have better ROR.

Hello Everyone.

It is 2 months since I have started mining ( 30 pcs of M3 ), now I am planning to add more 15 miners I narrowed down my choices regarding to my circumstances and result is: s9j or Avalon 851.

now I had some questions I will  be happy if u can help me about their quality and  performance ? ( without considering cost of electricity and miners price - I have done it my self just need some technical info )

1) which one of mentioned miners is more durable and reliable technically with less break down probability ? (I heard that s9 after few months face some problems like drop in the hashrate )

2) If you have used any of them please share your own experience ?

3) generally which one do u suggest and why ?

Re: Question on How Transaction Verification Works
by

on 29/04/2019, 12:29:15 UTC

Transactions are verified before being added to a mempool.  They are again verified before adding a block to a blockchain.

Can somebody explain me if in this step double-spending is checked or not ?

definitely it should be checked before being added to the candidate block otherwise after all hashing process that miners make to reach target difficulty the block will be invalid and all the efforts will be nothing .

Re: tether scandal !!

First I just want to tell you that you could write a little more organized and clear. It's actually hard to read post.

most people see tether as a currency which is  backed by $
But it's not entirely true.
"100% Backed
Every tether is always 100% backed by our reserves, which include traditional currency and cash equivalents and, from time to time, may include other assets and receivables from loans made by Tether to third parties, which may include affiliated entities (collectively, “reserves”). Every tether is also 1-to-1 pegged to the dollar, so 1 USD₮ is always valued by Tether at 1 USD."

Quote
they are pretty  sure whenever they want they  can get real dollars instead of tether in their bank account
I am wondering if this is possible. Tether company itself doesn't provide this possibility.

Quote
Is this idea true? if no , please clarify me why btc price has decreased?
I can't understand this from the economic perspective. But I believe it's mostly fear and confusion on market.

Quote
2) what do u think about future of tether ?
I think it's not bright. It's a bad system on top of a bad system (USD). And it's price will not/ should not go over 1$ so why would you risk it. But don't listen to a random guy on internet. Smiley

thanks for the info  Wink Wink
