P.S. Since this was on Project Development, do you just share your concern or you are considering building a specific bot program or service for this?

I'm looking to build the product and trying to identify a product market fit.

Thanks for all the great feedback!

I've always found it troublesome finding getting in touch and setting up an escrow on bitcointalk, maybe its because i'm rather new, but I have trouble sending PM, and the ones i managed to get through don't always respond quickly, which is understandable since this is not their full-time job).

The problem i wanted to solve with the escrow bot is to automate the communication and process of establishing an escrow, rather than the trust factor itself since like many of you guys mentioned, that can only come with reputation and time.

A solution i was thinking is a telegram bot that enables existing reputable escrow accounts here on bitcointalk to register as escrow managers. When someone wants to initiate an escrow, they can simply specify things such as escrow amount, release address, etc, and the escrow will be automatically created and matched with a registered escrow manager. Most escrows can be completely automated (created, and released without disputes), and the manager only need to intervene in case of a dispute.

This solution leverages the existing reputable status built into bitcointalk, but simplifies the escrow process for buyers, sellers, and escrow managers.

Telegram Bitcoin Escrow Bot

Hi Guys,

I've been using bitcointalk for buying goods and services using bitcoin for a while now. Most of my trades on negotiated through telegram. But one of the thing that I have found to be trouble some is finding a reliable and easy to use escrow service. Most of the time i just end up not using an escrow at all due to all the hassle, and sometimes this comes at a cost.

It seems natural to me that an telegram bot escrow service that allows you to easily open an escrow directly in telegram chat during the conversation of a trade would greatly simplify the process of trading.

I was wondering if you guys also experience this inconvenience? And if not what do you guys find to be the most reliable and easy to use escrow service?

Thanks!

Im looking to buy a paxful account to start trading. I already have a localbitcoins account, and is looking to get started with Paxful.

Looking for account with 50 - 100 trades, positive feedback, verified preferred. Will send btc without any escrow if offered from a somewhat Reputable Member with some time on the forum. Otherwise i'll prefer escrow.

Re: Crypto prices, trades & volume in realtime excluding fake volume

The idea of being able to "see" true volume of different coins is very valuable. Looking at the website i real like the UI, it's clean, easy to navigate, and responsive. Haven't tried out the API so cannot speak to that.

The fundamental core of this project is the accuracy of the algorithm used for filtering out wash trade, of which I still have no clue on how it is done after reading you article (https://medium.com/@Dwynr/building-a-website-that-shows-real-prices-and-trading-volumes-of-cryptocurrencies-aa4d9a2f4772). If the algorithm are just detecting certain trading patterns, then I don't see how it can be used to detect wash trade with sufficient accuracy since exchange might have or come up with sophisticated wash trading patterns.

That being said, I do believe idea is still valuable even if the algorithm only filters out a majority of the fake volumes rather than 100%.

Great job OP.

My rule of thumb is you should be so convinced in your startup idea that you are willing to put your life savings into before trying to convince others to invest in it.

Re: Ethconomy.io - a platform for trading crypto for anything at lower costs!

I like the idea of using crypto to pay for stuff, but I dont understand the lower cost part. Why would the cost be lower compared to just buying directly from Amazon? Where is the extra money coming from?

The extra money comes from the brokers. For example, if you were to place order on a $100 amazon product, you might only need to pay $80 worth of ETH. A broker who fulfills the order will make the purchase from amazon on your behave using fiat of $100, and in return they receive your $80 worth of ETH. That $20 different is payed by the broker.

Hmm, I see what you are saying. Though i'm not fully sold that people (brokers) would be willing to pay premiums to purchase crypto just for anonymity.
